BRIEFS Local wins top prize in scratch-off game A 54-year-old Ormond Beach resident recently claimed a $1 million top prize from the Florida Lottery’s “The Fastest Road to $1,000,000” scratch-off game. Lance LaFreniere purchased his ticket from Grocery Box at 448 S. Yonge St. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission. LaFreniere chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lumpsum payment of $790,000.
