BRIEFS No handshakes, hugs, allowed at Volusia graduations Volusia high school seniors will need to stay 6 feet apart from each other and prevent from shaking hands or hugging during the July 9-11 graduation ceremonies at the Ocean Center, as outlined by the district’s health and safety protocols for the event due to COVID-19. Tickets will be limited to two per graduate, and the district asks individuals who are considered at high risk or who are displaying fever-like or flu-like symptoms stay at home. Face masks are “highly recommended” for both the rehearsals and the ceremony, the news release states. Students, staff and attendees should bring their own masks.
