BRIEFS Police searching for man in Ormond Garage attack A woman was assaulted recently in the parking lot of the Ormond Garage, and the perpetrator has yet to be identified. The victim was returning from the Grind Gastropub with her friends around 1:48 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, when she spotted a man she later described to police as short and white, leaning against her car, the incident report states. She asked him to move and the man then headbutted her before throwing her on the ground, mounting the victim and delivering blows to her face. Restaurant owner Kevin Wakefield stated on Facebook that he is offering a $2,000 reward for information that will lead to the man’s arrest. He also said he will be “stepping up” late-night staff to patrol nearby parking lots, and said female patrons may ask for an escort to their vehicle.
