Ormond man recycles paper ‘for fun’ in backyard DONALD DARKO CITY CORRESPONDENT
As the city of Ormond Beach continues to look for solutions for its recycling woes, one creative man has taken matters into his own hands. “I was shredding my parking tickets one day, and I thought, ‘I could turn these into couches,” said Jason Born, 41, a tree surgeon in his spare time. Six bails of shredded paper can be repurposed into a comfortable couch, as this reporter can attest.
The first woman to win the annual blind-folded fishing tournament at Andy Romano Park was given a $45 prize. She declined to give her name for this story but said she planned to give the prize to charity. Your kids’ report cards could be next.
