LETTER FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND BOARD CHAIR
Dear Friends of Palm Beach Symphony,
The 2025-2026 season was defined by passion and power on the Masterworks stage, a milestone EMMY win, and a season of remarkable philanthropy.
Under Music Director Gerard Schwarz, our Masterworks Series brought the works of Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Strauss, Shostakovich and Holst to life, alongside the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winner Paul Moravec's Lullaby, commissioned for Palm Beach Symphony by Ambassador Bonnie McElveen-Hunter. We also welcomed guest artists pianists Shelly Berg, Misha Dichter, Simon Trpčeski and Emanuel Ax, cellist Alisa Weilerstein and violinist Valentin Mansurov.
Palm Beach Symphony won its first Emmy Award this season. At the 49th Annual Suncoast Regional EMMY® Awards Gala, audio producer Carlos Lopez took home the honor for The Carnival of MORE Animals, part of our Children's Concert Series.
Education remained central to our mission. The Dale A. McNulty Children's Concert Series partnered with Young Artists from the Goldner Conservatory at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre on A TV Guide to the Orchestra, introducing more than 3,000 students to live orchestral music. And we tapped an entirely new audience when 58 of our musicians recorded an orchestral version of the Florida Panthers' goal song, Panthers Pulse, generating widespread media buzz.
Philanthropy powered every corner of this season's progress. At our Ninth Annual Holly Jolly Symphony Fête, which raised nearly $500,000, we presented our milestone 1,000th instrument to local students. Our Instrument Donation Program gifted 244 instruments and 2,901 accessories to schools and young musicians this past year.
For the second time in less than a year, Paul and Karen Levy matched up to $250,000 for our education programs, building on their first $500,000 challenge, which funded Artists-in-Residence at 12 instrumental music programs and 978 coaching appointments at nine Title I schools.
Park Foundation, Patrick and Milly Park matched every gift up to $100,000 at our 24th Annual Gala, A Standing Ovation. Thanks to 430 generous guests, the match was met in minutes, helping the Gala shatter its previous record and raise $1.3 million. Thank you to Chairs Amy and John T. Collins and all who made the evening possible. The season closed with another $100,000 raised at the Seventh Annual Swings for Strings Golf Invitational.
This season, we welcomed Carol Baxter, Mary Demory and Percy Kavasmaneck, Ph.D. to our Board of Directors.
We also said goodbye to two cherished members of our Palm Beach Symphony family. May Bell Lin, our beloved Honorary Membership Director, served the Symphony for nearly two decades with extraordinary dedication and warmth, and her spirit continues to inspire us. We mourn, too, Laurie L. Bay, a devoted member of our Board of Directors since 2022 and of our Ladies Guild and Development Committee, whose generosity and advocacy helped shape this organization. Both women will be deeply missed.
None of this would be possible without your support, generosity, and advocacy. You all deserve a round of applause and a standing ovation. Palm Beach Symphony looks forward to continuing to raise the baton with you!

When Palm Beach Symphony was founded in 1974 as the first professional orchestra in Palm Beach County, we only performed a few concerts each season with a part-time conductor and volunteer staff. Since then, the Symphony has seen extraordinary development, including new milestones in community outreach, music education, programming and fundraising. In its 52nd season, the Symphony continues its strong momentum of growth under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer David McClymont. Music Director Gerard Schwarz is leading spirited performances of Masterworks concerts with an orchestra that reaches 90 players, the mark of a major symphony orchestra.
Recognized by The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County with a 2020 Muse Award for Outstanding Community Engagement and a 2025 Telly Award, Palm Beach Symphony also continues to expand its education and community outreach programs. Children’s concerts, Artists-in-Residence coaching sessions, masterclasses, instrument donations, and free public concerts have reached more than 100,000 students and lifelong learners in recent years. In addition to conducting the Masterworks concerts, Music Director Schwarz also conducted the Dale A. McNulty Children’s Concert Series, and
OVERVIEW MISSION
the orchestra recorded it for television through a partnership with South Florida PBS. Palm Beach Symphony attracted more members, subscribers, and single ticket buyers to its blockbuster season of worldclass concerts with renowned artists. Performances at the Kravis Center were crowd-pleasers, with thousands attending in-person at Dreyfoos Hall. Beyond the stage, this year's Dale A. McNulty Children’s Concert Series, The Carnival of MORE Animals, aired on South Florida PBS and received a Suncoast Regional EMMY Award.
We offered multiple membership options such as our Impresario Society, Symphony Society, Prelude Society, and Young Friends which play a leading role in the Symphony’s efforts to deliver spirited Masterworks concerts with world-class guest artists. Through these patrons’ combined support, the Masterworks Season provided inspiring classical music performances by virtuoso soloists with first-rate orchestral musicians conducted under Music Director Gerard Schwarz’s baton.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultural arts organization, we are committed to enhancing the communities in which we perform. Palm Beach Symphony dedicates its efforts to expand its reach, bringing classical music to people of all ages, backgrounds, and life experiences.
The mission of Palm Beach Symphony is to engage, educate and entertain the greater community of the Palm Beaches through live performances of inspiring orchestral music.
“Palm Beach Symphony has done tremendous things for our students. They always have something that can open up the world a little bit, and it's been cool to see how many diverse opportunities Palm Beach Symphony has provided our student musicians.”
— Amrutha Murthy, Director of Bands, Park Vista High School (November 2025)

“[Palm Beach Symphony] is more to us than a world-class orchestra. What it really means is the culture it brings to our community. It reaches the classroom and young people who may be hearing an orchestra for the very first time.”
— John T. Collins, Impresario Society Member and 24th Annual Gala Co-Chair (February 2026)

“Working with the Artists-in-Residence from Palm Beach Symphony has had a tremendously positive impact on both our students and our overall band program at Plumosa School of the Arts. The experience of learning directly from professional musicians brings a level of excitement, inspiration, and credibility that truly resonates with middle school students.”

FLORIDA PANTHERS
After the NHL team's back-to-back Stanley Cup wins, 58 Palm Beach Symphony musicians collaborated with the Florida Panthers to create an orchestral arrangement of the team's goal song, Panthers Pulse. The electrifying rendition of the song was released in October to promote the start of the NHL season, and was a great success in promoting the beginning of our Masterworks concert season. Our piece reached tens of millions of unique viewers per month on WPTV, in Arts & Culture Magazine, and in USA Today, delivering more than $1.6 million in equivalent advertising value.

MUSIC, MAESTROS AND MASTERS
Guests were captivated by a fascinating interactive panel discussion on how the arts and music fuel the body, mind, and soul. The evening featured vignette musical performances by Young Singers of the Palm Beaches and Palm Beach Symphony musicians at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute on the Jupiter campus of Florida Atlantic University. Kevin Wilt, Associate Professor of Music, Composer-in-Residence, and Chair of the Florida Atlantic University Department of Music in Boca Raton, served as Moderator of the incredible panel of speakers that included Shawn Berry, Artistic Director for Young Singers of the Palm Beaches; Domingo Pagliuci, Principal Trombone for Palm Beach Symphony; Valeria Polunina, Principal Piano for Palm Beach Symphony; and Dr. Kathleen Davenport, Orthopedic Specialist from Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS).
This intimate performance opportunity creates moments of calm, connection, and hope during a challenging time, demonstrating how music can uplift spirits and nurture well-being beyond the concert hall.

"They help me throughout my violin journey, and I can get more advanced so I can be a professional violinist and I can probably become a music teacher, too."

In 2025–2026, Palm Beach Symphony received a second remarkable $250,000 matching grant from Impresario Society Members Paul and Karen Levy, doubling the power of every gift made toward our mission. Their leadership gift helped expand free children’s concerts, in-school music residencies, and the donation of instruments to underserved students across Palm Beach County. “We’re delighted to share what we have with those who are underserved,” Paul Levy said. “I can’t think of a better way of doing that here in Palm Beach, particularly when it involves our youth. Music is wonderful, so if we have the good luck of opening up the world of music to even a few children, I think we’ll all benefit.” The Levy's generosity ensures more young people have the chance to experience the joy and transformative power of live symphonic music.

DALE A. MCNULTY CHILDREN’S CONCERTS
This season's Dale A. McNulty Children's Concert Series introduced audiences to the thrilling world of classical music through a fresh, interactive production entitled A TV Guide to the Orchestra. Conducted by Palm Beach Symphony's Music Director Gerard Schwarz, and in collaboration with Young Artists from the Goldner Conservatory at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, this vibrant performance of The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra by Benjamin Britten was dramatized by four young actors who journeyed through the orchestra, making each instrument come alive on stage. The magic continued with familiar classical favorites “as heard on TV” and engaging programmatic music composed by Rossini, Bizet, Rimsky-Korsakov, Khachaturian, Strauss, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and John Williams. This engaging production blended music, storytelling, and audience participation to spark a lifelong love of the arts. Interactive dialogue led by Kim Cozort Kay, Director of Education at the Goldner Conservatory at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, invited students to connect directly with the performers, turning the concert into a fun, educational adventure.

LADIES
GUILD
A Circle of Devotion
Founded in 2009, Palm Beach Symphony Ladies Guild is among the Symphony’s most devoted partners, a circle of remarkable women united by a shared love of music, friendship, and philanthropy. Created to support the Board of Directors in shaping ideas around the Symphony’s programs and membership, the Guild has grown into a vital force for our mission. As Ambassadors of the Symphony, its members are, at heart, friend-raisers who open doors and open hearts, championing the orchestra and welcoming new supporters into our musical family. Their generosity takes many forms, lending their energy to the Holly Jolly Symphony Fête, the Annual Gala, and wherever the Symphony needs them most, and through it they help sustain the three pillars of Palm Beach Symphony: to engage, educate, and entertain, from world-class performances to education and community outreach.
Year after year, their enthusiasm creates real and lasting impact: instruments placed in the hands of children, music shared across our county, and the recognition of our Instrumental Music Teacher of the Year. Their steadfast support is a reminder that the truest devotion to great music is given not only with the purse, but with the whole heart.

REMEMBERING LAURIE L. BAY
A longstanding member of the Palm Beach Symphony Board of Directors, Ladies Guild and Development Committee, Laurie L. Bay was a beloved friend who lived out the principles of our mission on a daily basis.

NINTH ANNUAL HOLLY JOLLY SYMPHONY FÊTE
On Monday, December 8, 2025, Palm Beach Symphony hosted its Ninth Annual Holly Jolly Symphony Fête at the Cohen Pavilion at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, raising $468,500 in support of the Symphony's musicians, music education programs, and community outreach initiatives. The 445 guests gathered to celebrate the season and raise critical funds benefiting student musicians and school music programs in need of instruments.
This festive luncheon was made possible through the leadership of Palm Beach Symphony Ladies Guild; event chairs Mary and Will Demory; honorary chairs Carol and Thomas Bruce; vice-chairs Dr. Martha Rodriguez and Dr. Jesus PerezMendez; the Host Committee; and the Music Men.
The event had a direct and measurable impact on local students. Educators and 12 students in our Paul & Karen Levy Residency Program, drawn from three Title I schools, Woodlands Middle School, The Conservatory School @ North Palm Beach, and Plumosa School of the Arts, received 31 instruments, 27 of them brand new, opening doors to confidence and possibility. A highlight of the celebration was the presentation of the 2025 Instrumental Music Teacher of the Year Award to Christopher M. De León, Director of Jazz Studies at the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts. The award was underwritten by Carol S. and Joseph Andrew Hays, Florida Power & Light, and Dr. Marcia Robbins-Wilf.

SWINGS FOR STRINGS
Palm Beach Symphony continued to hit high notes with its annual golf tournament chaired by Thomas D'Agostino, Jr. with support from Honorary Chairs Doug Marty and Todd Dahlstrom, raising nearly $100,000 and selling out. Generous support from Asher Enterprises, Findlay Galleries, First Bank, Fox Rothschild, iTHINK Financial, Jorge A Gutierrez Architect LLC, Lytal Reiter Smith Ivey & Fronrath, Suzanne Mott Dansby, Palm Beach Toyota, PNC Private Bank, Publix Super Market Charities, Robert Nichols Insurance Group, Smart Source LLC, and Wellington National Golf Club, along with a successful silent auction led by Auction Chair Sarmite Bulte, contributed to the event's success.
YOUNG FRIENDS OF PALM BEACH SYMPHONY
Young Friends of Palm Beach Symphony celebrated another milestone season marked by a 16% increase in membership from the previous year, while deepening its support of the Symphony's education initiatives. Highlights from the season included a collaboration with the FICPA for a pre-concert social at the AKA West Palm Beach, a Palm Beach Show Kick-Off Party hosted by Scott Diament and Palm Beach Show Group, and an End of Season celebration at a classic car garage courtesy of Joe Lubeck.
LUNCH AND LEARN
Palm Beach Symphony was proud to host the Lunch and Learn Series for the 2025-2026 season. Each session features a unique opportunity to dive deeper into the artistry behind our Masterworks concerts through an engaging series of lecture demonstrations, all paired with a delicious catered lunch.
These events offer behind-the-scenes insights from our professional musicians, guest conductors, and our Music Director, Gerard Schwarz, in the welcoming and intimate setting of the Community Event Room at Palm Beach Symphony’s offices, located in the Center for Philanthropy.
We welcomed 215 guests to our six Lunch and Learn events.
MEET ME IN THE MEZZANINE
Last season’s Meet Me in the Mezzanine saw the participation of numerous organizations at the Masterworks concerts, including the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County, Nonprofits First, BDB, Junior League Palm Beach, Leadership Palm Beach County, The Palm Beach Rotary Club, and Related Life. Attendees from these organizations had the exclusive opportunity to network on the Mezzanine, both before the concerts and during intermission, and also had the exclusive opportunity to meet some of our Palm Beach Symphony musicians.
