PALM BEACH SYMPHONY
2025–2026 MASTERWORKS SERIES
A SEASON OF ICONS, MASTERPIECES, AND PREMIERES
Dear Friends,
As Music Director of Palm Beach Symphony, it is my great pleasure to invite you to join us for our 2025–2026 season—a remarkable journey through some of the most powerful and inspiring works in the classical repertoire. This season reflects our shared passion for musical storytelling, from beloved masterpieces and thrilling solo debuts to newly commissioned works that mark bold new chapters in our history.
To celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, we open our 52nd season with American brilliance—Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue featuring the incomparable Shelly Berg, and An American in Paris, a vibrant orchestral gem. I am especially honored to lead the world premiere of Lullaby by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Paul Moravec, commissioned exclusively for Palm Beach Symphony by Ambassador Bonnie McElveen-Hunter. Throughout the season, we continue to spotlight American composers Gabriela Lena Frank, Daniel Asia, and Alan Hovhaness whose distinct voices enrich our programming with depth and character.
You will experience sweeping orchestral masterpieces that I look forward to sharing with you: Strauss’ epic Alpine Symphony, Respighi’s dazzling Pines of Rome, and Holst’s cosmic The Planets. We will also revel in the genius of Beethoven and Brahms, while exploring the unique soundscapes of de Falla, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and Rimsky-Korsakov.
We are delighted to welcome back the legendary pianists Emanuel Ax and Misha Dichter - two remarkable artists I’ve greatly enjoyed working with over the years. Ax will bring the season to a radiant close with Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 22. We also are thrilled to welcome several remarkable soloists making their Palm Beach Symphony debuts, including cellist Alisa Weilerstein performing Shostakovich’s deeply expressive Cello Concerto No. 1, violinist Vadim Repin with Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2, and pianist Simon Trpčeski in a virtuosic performance of Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3
Inside this brochure, you will find full season details, subscriber benefits, and ways to support our mission. I am deeply grateful for your continued belief in our work. Your support makes everything we do possible, and I look forward to sharing this extraordinary season of music with you.
With appreciation,
Gerard Schwarz Music Director and Conductor Palm Beach Symphony
