This year we proudly mark our eighteenth year at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. As organizers, each year we strive to exceed the prior year's offering of objects of excellence. We travel the globe, to the finest art and antiques shows worldwide, in addition to frequenting the most important shows in our nation. As a result, it is our pleasure to present an international array of unique and highly esteemed exhibitors in each category, brought together for one spectacular event. A show of this enormous breadth and depth presents challenges from inception through presentation and dismantling and requires the coordinated effort from a vast number of people. We would like to express our gratitude by congratulating everyone involved in making The Palm Beach Show a success. It is a true team effort that requires seamless production from our hardworking office staff to our technical and creative personnel, in order to bring this event to life. Since founding the brand in 1992, Tamara Comolli’s mission is to create breathtaking jewelry designs that are as individual as the women who wear them. With her endless passion for rare and unusual gemstones in vibrant colors, the German designer has transformed fine jewelry from an accessory for festive occasions to a must-have for everyday wear. Today, the MIKADO acorn-shaped gemstone collection has become the most iconic design with a mesmerizing variety of colorful gems. The brand’s hallmark, the drop, refers to her source of inspiration: the water of the oceans and lakes. TAMARA COMOLLI is a proud partner of the renowned non-profit organization Oceana, which actively protects the oceans.
Where does your passion for colorful gemstones come from? What fascinates you about them? My father worked in the casino business, so I grew up in a world of women wearing precious and glamorous jewelry. I fell in love with the powerful colors and stunning variety of gemstones. As I have always had a beach girl spirit, I wanted to liberate fine jewelry from the convention of only wearing it on special occasions. The combination of spending every minute of my free time at the beach and spending days in the luxurious environment of a casino inspired me to create my own jewelry – and the idea of barefoot luxury was born. You might think a tourmaline is just a tourmaline, but it is so much more than that. It is often rarer, more precious, and more sought-after than a diamond – take ocean-blue Paraiba tourmalines, for instance. Once you’ve seen that color, you won’t want anything else! Aside from tourmalines, I really love sapphires as well, because you can find them in very surprising colors. The beauty that nature creates with gemstones fascinates me!
Where do you source your gemstones and pearls? My team and I travel the world from Madagascar to the magical island of Tahiti searching for rare and precious stones and pearls in the most vibrant colors. On our travels we have built strong relationships with our suppliers. Our knowledge and passion have conquered the hearts of our clients, which has inspired us to search for their favorite unique gemstones and showcase them in individual jewelry designs.
What is the most important aspect for you when designing a one-of-a-kind Collectible? There is something very special about our Collectible designs because the design follows the gem- stones. This loving approach is what makes us different. I love to collect stones that are just waiting for the perfect design, and keep them in my “treasure chest”. Every one-of-a-kind jewel pays tribute to the rare beauty of the gemstones. Some designs are very pure, placing the gems center stage, such as our Cocktail or Cushion rings. Others showcase opulent rainbow color combinations in an almost invisible setting, such as our beloved Glamour rings. Last year I fulfilled a lifelong dream of creating the iconic MIKADO Flamenco bracelet as a Collectible version with hand-selected Paraiba tourmalines. It took me four years to find these rare beauties from Brazil and Mozambique. The chatoyant colors from green to blue were truly magical!
How do you want women to feel when they wear your jewelry? Our designs enable women to select jewelry that suits their personal style day and night: in a layering look, with precious gems dangling from a casual leather cord, or as stand-alone statement pieces. Clients who bought our designs many years ago will still find those items in the collection today. We want women to experience the essence of barefoot luxury: freedom, escape, and happiness.
The new GYPSY collection is truly a highlight in the industry. Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind the collection? When I was a child, I grew up a bit like a nomad. We moved from country to country. The desire to travel and my curiosity about different cultures have remained. This “gypsy” spirit has inspired me to create a collection combining the bohemian style with timeless elegance. The GYPSY Bangles introduce new silhouettes and the gemstones sparkling at the sides. This design element means that you can stack and combine the bangles to create versatile looks. This is what makes the bangles so unique and it is a patented jewelry innovation. With the all-around design, the drop-shaped diamonds, and the colorful ‘Candy’ versions, we remain true to our design philosophy, using precious stones set in surprising designs.

World’s Most Expensive COVID-19 FACE MASK AT THE PALM BEACH SHOW
The Palm Beach Show is proud to welcome back famed jeweler Yvel to the impressive list of exhibitors showcasing at this year’s fair. Yvel, the Israeli luxury jewelry brand most recognized for its work with rare, organic pearls, has designed a fully functional $1.5 million mask. Designed by Isaac Levy, founder, and owner of Yvel. The mask is made of 250 grams of pure 18k gold and is set with 3,608 natural black and white diamonds, with a total weight of 210 carats – making it the most expensive mask in the world. The mask, designed to be wearable, features a slot to insert a disposable N-99 mask, which provides protection from Covid-19.
The mask was commissioned by a Los Angeles-based businessman. As a keen art collector, he has been an Yvel customer for many years and placed his initial order as an act to help support Israeli industry as well as Yvel’s 150 employees in Israel and the United States during the pandemic. The order required an intensive production process resulting in a mask which is a one-of-a-kind work of art and at the same time compliant to safety regulations. This project was entrusted to 25 of the company’s top artisans and diamond setters who were carefully selected to carry out the extraordinary assignment.
“We are blessed with very loyal customers that became close friends in time, who appreciate the creativity, commitment and dedication of our master crafts people. When we were first challenged to create a mask of this magnitude, we were energized by the opportunity and our team came together to create something truly unique and special, and yet – functional. Unlike any project we have done before, this order involved not only beautiful jewels but also a protective element,” said Isaac Levy, owner and co-founder of Yvel.
When the COVID pandemic accelerated globally in the spring, Levy came to the U.S. to meet with long-term customers and friends to see if they would place orders so he could keep his production center open and employees working. The Los Angeles businessman, who has asked to remain anonymous, delivered the most compelling assignment.
“We cannot thank the buyer enough for his support over the last decades and especially now during the pandemic. We can’t wait to official present him with the mask,” said Levy. “In these tumultuous times, every order we receive helps to preserve the company’s day-to-day operations and provide a way of living to its employees.”
