Fire Safety Do’s and Don’ts

Fire safety is referred to as the set of practices planned to reduce the spread of fire. Fire safety measures include those that are planned to prevent flame of an uncontrolled fire and those that are used to limit the effects of a fire once it starts. Fire safety includes tips that are planned during the construction of any building or implemented in structures that are already standing and those points that are taught to occupants of the building. There are some Do’s and Don’ts that everyone should know whenever a fire occurs in a building:

Do’s 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) 9)

You should know the building’s evacuation plan properly. Evacuate very quickly and calmly whenever a fire alarm sounds. Keep important items such as medical equipment to quick access in the event of a building evacuation. Better if you know two ways out of any building. Don’t open any door quickly before opening any door, feel it with the back of your hand. If the door is very hot, do not open it. While evacuation if you encounter smoke stay low to the floor. Know the outside rally point for your building. Know the locations of fire extinguishers, fire alarm, and exits. Everyone should learn to use a fire extinguisher.
