To fight the fire, it is always a preferable step. It is the quick most and first step taken by any team after knowing the cause of the fire. It is best applicable to class A (means the fire is due to woods, plastics, textiles. Solid material) types of fire that is the most general cause of the fire. Hose Reel Drum It is used to store Hose Pipe. It has a cylindrical spindle-like shape and can be made with metals, plastics or fiberglass. Different types of hose Drums are being manufactured by different hose drum manufacturers. It may vary in shape and size that depends on how and where to use and install it. Its main purpose is to provide easy access. Hose reel drums can be wall-mounted or movable. In buildings with active fire safety systems, hose reel drums are installed on walls permanently but in trucks of the fire brigade, they are designed in such a great manner to move quickly. They help in binding pipes against themselves. Hosepipe Hose Pipe is a high-pressure flexible pipe that can carry water or fire extinguisher agents. It is used to extinguish the fire. These pipes are designed in such a good manner so that it can withstand high tensile forces. High pressure of water comes out from it which helps in extinguishing the fire. These pipes have to travel from very rough and tough environments so while designing these pipes, fire hose manufacturers take care of quality. Different diameters of pipes are being manufactured like ¾” to 1-1/4” diameter size. The size of the pipe is dependent on its use and location where to install it. After its use, it is preferable to hang so that it can dry because water present in it may depreciate the pipe. So to increase the life of a pipe it must be dry quickly and properly. It is mandatory to service the installed equipment from time to time to avoid the risk of breakage.
