birthday PARTIES AT PALATINE HILLS GOLF COURSE

Celebrate your child’s birthday party at Palatine Hills Golf Course. Parties are for children ages 6–13 and offer two hours of fun including golf instruction or FootGolf, golf contests, prizes, and food. JUNIOR GOLF: INTRO TO GOLF LESSONS

Age: 8-15 years Min/Max: 8/10 These lessons are designed to jump-start kids with the basic skills of golf. Topics covered will be set-up, full swing, driving the ball, chipping, course etiquette, and how to use the golf facility. Clubs are available for students who need them.

JUNIOR GOLF PASS

Age: 12-17 years Fee: $350 R/$375 NR The Junior Golf Pass must be shown each time the pass holder wants to obtain a receipt to play golf. Days valid: Anytime Monday–Friday; After 1:00pm on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays Restrictions: Limited to one round per day. Not valid for pre-booked outings or outside tournaments and events.

LADIES 9-HOLE GOLF LEAGUE (PALGALS)

There is a need for new players and substitutes for the Monday morning Ladies 9-hole Golf League. This is a recreational league that is fun for all levels. An ability to finish a 9-hole round in 125 minutes and an understanding of golf etiquette is required. League play begins on Monday mornings with tee times starting at 7:15am. The season begins in late April and continues through early August. An informational meeting and sign-up will be held in April. LADIES 18-HOLE GOLF LEAGUE

The Palatine Hills 18-hole Ladies League is looking for new members. The league plays on Wednesday mornings and is open to players with an established handicap of 36 or less. League play begins in early May. For additional information contact the Pro Shop at 847.359.4020.

IN-HOUSE JR GOLF LEAGUE

Age: 8-17 years Min/Max: 1/60 Once your child has developed the skills for the game, they are ready to enjoy In-House Jr Golf League. Our League provides an opportunity to have fun golfing, meet other junior golfers, and learn golf etiquette and rules. Juniors under the age of 12 are required to pass a skills evaluation to participate in In-House Jr Golf League. Evaluations are offered at 5:30pm on Tuesdays, 5/17—5/31. You must call the Pro Shop, 847.359.4020, to reserve a spot. If you are trying out for PGA Jr League Golf, 227030-01 or -02, then wait til after May 4 to sign-up for In-House Jr Golf League. Juniors who qualify for PGA Jr League Golf pay a reduced fee of $50 for In-House Jr Golf League. Juniors who do not qualify are ensured a spot and pay the regular fee. Open to residents and non-residents beginning March 7.

PGA JR LEAGUE GOLF

PGA Jr League Golf (PGA JLG) is designed to bring a "Little League" atmosphere to the game of golf. With teams of boys and girls ages 10-17, PGA JLG provides a structured league environment for young golfers to compete and have fun! This is a great way to get, and keep, kids involved in the game! All juniors must qualify to participate in PGA Jr League Golf by passing a skills evaluation. These skills include ball striking, following instructions, and sufficient ability to play in matches. The skills evaluation will be held Wednesday, May 4, 6:00pm-7:00pm. Rain date will be Friday, May 6, 6:00pm-7:00pm. Refunds will be made available for juniors who do not qualify. *$250 is due at time of sign-up. Once you've signed-up with Palatine Park District and qualified, you will be contacted by golf course staff on how to pay the balance ($99) of the registration fee ($349) with the PGA Jr League. Sign-up additionally for In-House Jr Golf League (327030-01) at a reduced price of $50. Practices will be held on Wednesdays, weather permitting, while matches will be played on Saturdays or Sundays. A schedule will be provided at the beginning of the program. Practice will be held from 4:00pm—5:15pm until school is out. Participants receive a team jersey, hat, golf balls, and PGA JLG bag tag along with their coaching, practices, and matches. Open to residents and non-residents beginning March 7.

RENTALS

Our Clubhouse offers a scenic location for your next meeting, party, or group gathering. The Clubhouse includes seating for 75 people, a private room that can accommodate 24 people, an outdoor deck with sound system, a redesigned bar and restaurant area, remodeled bathrooms, and six televisions with media connections. Practice at the Hills

Palatine Hills Golf Course offers three practice areas to help you lower your scores.

THE HILLS SHORT GAME AREA

For the price of a bucket of balls, you can improve in the area of golf in which over half of your shots are taken. Practice those key shots into the green including shots from 75 yards and in, chipping, pitch shots, and bunker shots. When you reserve a green complex, you will have private use of the area for 60 minutes.

DRIVING RANGE

Get in your practice swings before you hit the course, or just stop by to hit a bucket when you don’t have time for a full round. Visit the Pro Shop to purchase a bucket of balls or go immediately to the Driving Range with your credit card to purchase your balls at the dispenser. The last bucket will be sold one hour before sunset. 15 balls $4.00 35 balls $5.50 65 balls $10.00

SHORTCOURSE AND FOOTGOLF COURSE

The Hills Short Game Area is used as a Short Course and/or FootGolf Course on the following days: Saturdays and Sundays from 4:00pm—close. The Short Course consists of the three shorter-length golf holes contained in the Hills Short Game Area. Scorecards are available including layout. The cost is $20 total for one to four people to walk for 60 minutes. The use of a cart is $10 additional, i.e. $30 for 1-2 people to ride and $40 for 3-4 people to ride. Only one reservation per time slot is allotted. FootGolf is a sport that combines soccer and golf. The object of the game is to kick a soccer ball into a cup in as few shots as possible. The FootGolf Course is a 9-hole course located in the Hills Short Game Area for players ages 6 and older. Children 6-11 must play with a paying adult or the supervision of an adult. The cost is $5 per individual for 60 minutes. Ball rental is $3 (limited supply). Reservations for the Short Course and FootGolf Course are recommended and can be made up to one week in advance by calling the Pro Shop at 847.359.4020. Online reservations are not available. Only one Course will be in use during a given time slot.

PUTTING GREEN

The easiest way to lower your score is by reducing the number of putts taken during a round. Warm up your short game before your next round, or just stop by with your putter and a few balls to practice a variety of putting scenarios. With the exception of days with special events or maintenance, our putting green is FREE to use during normal business hours. Drop by and drop shots off your scores by improving your putting skills.

Join the Palatine Hills Golf Association (PHGA)

If you’re looking for golfers to play with or you like competing in events, join the PHGA. There are over 150 members who enjoy golf and camaraderie in the PHGA. Membership dues are just $60 per season.
