10 questions in 10 minutes with hina altaf khan

1. From VJ to Acting. Tell us how it all began? Hosting has always been my first love! After coming on screen I realized I have teeny tiny acting germs too, gave it a shot and it didn’t really go well so gave a shot again and somehow it worked. 2. At what point did you first realize you’re famous? Many times! From being called out on streets as Zaibo from Udaari & Rania from Kuch Na Kaho. From coffee shop managers to restaurant attendants to kids playing in grounds to air hostesses in flights to senior citizens in Malls to mobile shop keepers to even cab drivers! I'm thankful to the Creator for allowing me to experience all this in a short span of time! 3. What bores you? Gossiping . As much as I love gossiping I get bored soon. 4. If you wake up to find yourself completely invisible, what are the first two things you would do? Travel the world without any passport or visa hassle or bank statements! 5. Which song, if any, can be the theme of your life? Apni to Jesay, Thori Aesay Ya Wesay Kut Jaege, Apka Kia Hoga Janab e Aalie from the movie Laawaris. 6. What superpower would you want, if you could have any? I would want to travel different planets and have the ability to meet Aliens if they really exist! 7. Your favorite character, out of all that you have played? RANIA from Kuch Na Kaho 8. One role, you wish you had not done? So many of them. Marium from Marium kesay jeye. 9. Two must haves in your bag? I don't have two I have five! Makeup pouch, watch, Jewelry, mobile charger and my ear plugs. I have the most useless things in my bag. 10. What’s on your plate at the moment? Bundle and bundle of scripts that I have to read every day and make a logical answer to refuse them! Waiting for a good script. 2017

planes, trains & automobiles

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? I went to Tbilisi, Georgia on an adventure sports club trip with my university lead by a senior graduating student. Georgia wasn’t the first country on my list to travel, in fact didn’t exist at all! Which became a great reason to travel as it was a country where I would never go on my own. I thought I shouldn’t miss out on an opportunity to travel a unique country.

Where did you stay? We stayed in a small hotel called Hotel Doesi. It was on the outskirts of Tiblisi near the airport. The hotel was in a very shady area and the walls were really thin, which meant that we could hear everything going on it the rooms next to us! Other than that, I had a very pleasant stay. The workers were all very polite and welcoming and tried their best to make our stay comfortable.

Who did you travel with? I traveled with an amazing group of VCU-Q students who were all members of the adventure sports club. Mostly freshman, from my own batch. We were a group of 10 students with two chaperons- Tifanny and Mike. Without them the trip wouldn’t have been fun.

What are the best shopping spots there? The best shopping places were the street markets. They had a huge variety of souvenirs and the shop owners were fun to have a conversation with. You experienced and learnt more about the people and the country by

street shopping rather than going in large malls. Street shops were often set up in the trunk of vans and cars. It was truly something to look at. From coffee and tea to clothes, all could be found in the back of a car’s trunk.

travel diaries

What can you do over there to relax and unwind. The best place to relax and unwind is The National Botanical Garden of Georgia. The water fall is breathtaking and the gardens are lush green. It is a must visit place. Finally, any tips? Something to note before traveling to Georgia would be that if you’re not fluent in Georgian it’s better to hire a guide or buy a translation book. They take pride in their language and hardly have menus in English. Other than that Georgia replicated Juliet’s Balcony, don’t forget to put a lock with your name and your loved ones name signed together!

Tell us about the sights noone should miss out on Something to not miss out on is the skiing in Georgia in Gudauri. Their guides are not only super helpful but as well as fun. Other than that Georgia’s pictures over the internet doesn’t do justice. The mountains and hiking trails are breath taking. Some sites which are worth going to are the Georgian orthodox cliff, sameba and the metekhi church. And I wouldn’t miss the chair lift in Georgia. Being a small

Suggest places for a perfect night out The perfect night out would be no where but in the streets of Tiblisi. There is no resturant or mall that capture tiblisi’s night beauty. A stroll amongst Tiblisi’s natural beauty would be a night well spent.

travel diaries

Suggest some amazing restaurants there? During our trip, food was never the priority; we stopped at any restaurant in our way to kill our starvation. However whether it be a shabby place or a fancy resturant, the food quality was the same. If you’re a foodie, Georgia is not the place for you. However, their food comes in large quantities, which is impossible for one person to finish on their own.

city has its advantages as the chair lift goes above the entire city, presenting a marvelous and beautiful scenery.

An opportunity to expand your horizons could come out of nowhere this Friday—and travel may be involved. Thank an opportunity-boosting trine (the second in a series of three) between structured Saturn in your worldly ninth house and Uranus, the planet of surprises, in Aries. This could be a business trip or a sacred retreat. But a plane, train or long drive may be involved. It might not seem practical, no.

Friday could bring some white light moments about love and relationships. A healing trine (120-degree angle) between high-minded Uranus and stable Saturn will remind you that enduring qualities might be more valuable than endearing ones. The people who have your back aren’t perfect 24/7—and they probably work your nerves more than the eternally charming types ever will. But their commitment to you and your highest good is what makes them pure gold. Stop resisting your real deal homies.

If you had trouble emptying your emotional cache earlier this week, don’t stress. Everything shiny and new will captivate you, making you feel like a kid in a Willy Wonka factory again. Invest in growth experiences like overseas travel, self-development workshops and private coaching sessions. Bonus: Go-getter Mars hangs in Gemini until June 4, pouring jet fuel in your tanks.

Some influential people may be Googling your name near the weekend and you’ll want to represent! Make sure the search results turn up your finest achievements and most fabulous self. Are there tipsy tweets to take down? New (and bragworthy) credentials to post? You might spend the weekend updating your online presence. While you want to keep it real and accessible, make sure you’re also showing yourself in your best light, too.

Expect the unexpected on Friday—and be ready to play ball! Electrifying Uranus in your venturesome ninth house gets a stabilizing beam from Saturn in your fifth house of fame and romance. Out of the blue, you could be invited to join people on a weekend getaway or to present your ideas in a public forum. Say yes! Fortune favors the bold under this transit, even if it feels a little risky.

Though you’ll be hustling during the workweek, your weekends may be spent festival-hopping or lounging poolside at a chic hotel. On a budget? Hook up apartment swaps and couchsurfing expeditions with friends in cool cities. A change of scenery brings the double bonus of breaking you out of any mental ruts you might be stuck in. With Mercury in your ninth house, your mind is like a sponge, hungry for fresh intel. Wander around museums, check out town hall lectures, read everything you can on a new subject of fascination.

Your ability to keep things like this confidential is what makes you such a good ally. Someone might even be putting you through a loyalty test and you want to pass with flying colors. Tune in to unspoken signals like body language. What's NOT being said might be more telling than the monologues people spew. Unspoken chemistry could be bubbling in the background, revealing itself through hair twirling, foot tapping and an open posture.

Moving your body is another great way to get your kundalini rising. Dance in your living room or at the club—and try a sensual movement class like S-Factor or burlesque, if you dare. Relationships take on a more serious tone over the coming four weeks. Don’t settle for less than a mind-body-soul connection. (As if you ever would…) Already spoken for? Find new ways to cement your connection like co-signing on a love nest, getting engaged or planning a trip through Italian wine country.

aquarius

pisces

Your ruling planet, wild-child Uranus, gets a maturing boost from wise, grounded Saturn. With both planets parked in the cooperative zones of your chart, you may suddenly realize that a plan will never take off fully until you bless it with your special brand of practical magic. Yes, Aquarius, that means holding people’s hands to the fire to find out if they are in or out. But you should also map out all the times, dates, meeting points and financial requirements—this will make the brilliant idea seem like a legit reality.

This is a big week, Pisces! It’s still wise to hold back a little and feel out situations, especially early in the week, since verbal Mercury is making a series of great aspects from your zone of privacy and intuition. Some work or financial drama may require attention Wednesday, which may be stressful. But it will blow over quickly. Mercury slides into your sign Saturday, followed by a rare new moon solar eclipse Sunday.

As a big picture person, this won’t be your favorite cycle, Sagittarius. But alas, it’s time to deal with all those microdeets: scheduling appointments, balancing your budget, filing paperwork and fixing errors. Grrr. Since this can ramp up stress for your impatient sign, try to set the right atmosphere for taking care of business. Light a scented candle, pour a calming mug of tea, play soothing music.

Friday might bring epic epiphanies. Clear space in your calendar and make a date with your spirit guides. Your ruler, stabilizing Saturn, which is in your esoteric twelfth house, gets a positive beam from high-minded Uranus in your touchy-feely fourth. These white light insights could bring tears to your eyes—that’s how profound they’ll be. But you, Capricorn, like to put on a good face.
