Did you stumble upon your career or was it something that you always wanted? I did stumble upon it. I was never very interested in makeup and beauty but after I started my own salon in 2009 I became fascinated with makeup. What was your “aha!” moment? I decided to give make up a real chance and enrolled myself in the Makeup First School in Chicago. I had the opportunity to learn a variety of makeup techniques and I loved it so much that it confirmed that this is what I wanted to pursue as my own personal career. Did you ever consider or experience a career change? All the time. Every bridal season I work long days and have back to back appointments. This led to being unable to spend time with my family and also caused me to aggravate some serious back problems. I had to make some serious changes in my lifestyle if I wanted to continue pursuing make up and I wondered if it would be better to specialize in something different. However, make up was something I enjoyed doing and in the end I couldn’t leave it.

She has continued to inspire me with her work running the Hum Network. Describe a day in your life I start my day at 11 am at one of my branches (either Shadman or MM Alam) with a good cup of tea. We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our section, planes, trains & automobiles! 2020 has not treated us the way we expected it. Being from the healthcare sector with ample awareness and knowledge one becomes super protective and cautious. Resultantly my kids started their social distancing in mid February.

Everyone has had enough and we all needed a breather – so we planned a trip up north with only people we live with. We had a house arranged with no outsider there, we took our staff and daily supplies and off we hit the road.

We did not stop on the way and reached Nathia Gali in 6 hours from Lahore. Fully equipped with masks, disinfectants and gloves. Once we reached we were aware no local restaurants are open so we stocked up on grocery and stayed in our residence only. Near by we drove to a lake, which was an isolated area; hence we enjoyed it by ourselves. The views were breath taking and the air was absolutely clean. Temperature used to drop to 10 degrees at night – it was amazing. There are many trekking tracks people can enjoy on their own.

The Northern areas are a treasure and the best escape these days. We can all travel but follow proper care protocols. If one feels any symptoms of Covid-19 they should avoid travel. Once there consider your self as a carrier and always interact with locals with masks and be extra cautious. It was a memorable trip and a lucky break from the stress and fears of Covid-19. We were super cautious and hence we remained safe and kept people of Nathia safe too.
