ivy bridal collection
This season, IVY opens the doors to the glory of the past, from the splendors of the Mughal Court to the extravagance of royal princesses. Inspired by Rajasthani brides of old, the IVY Bridal Collection features cuts and embroidery from Rajasthan Mahal Architecture with rich and vibrant hues that the desert princesses would flaunt. With motifs ranging from elaborate peacocks to delicate herons, the Collection invokes nostalgia for a time lost to us, a time when processes would literally dance in diamonds. IVY brings to life a legacy, a legacy of love, royalty, passion and etiquette.

ABOUT ME:
Asad Niazi Your role model & inspiration: Abdul Sattar Edhi Sahab
Your favourite restaurant in Pakistan? Okra, Karachi
Your style guru No one’s ever really impressed me enough.
The C.E.O of The Butler, The Little Eatery and Tiffany’s, whose projects have always almost instantly become the talk of the town, sits down with us to share his experiences and creative process. Where did the idea for The Butler come around? There was always a plan for opening a restaurant. We were looking for a place ever since Tiffany’s closed down due to the new regulations by CDA. The idea of The Butler came in as an Italian Continental restaurant. This venture happened very soon after The Little Eatery opened up. Was this already in the developing stages? TLE was almost complete when The Butler project began. February when we started with TLE we’d already begun working on The Butler. We constantly see you engaging on the restaurant floor in a very hands on manner. Are these ventures more than just business to you? It’s definitely more of a passion. I love to create and design my spaces and I love to give them time because I feel like I won’t have done justice to what I created if I don’t give it time. Especially in the food business, if you don’t give it time, it’s gone. The first 6 months are crucial. So it wouldn’t be wrong to say that food and excellence in culinary experience has been a passion for you. Absolutely, it’s been a passion for the past 5 years. It took a lot of time for things to materialise. There was a roller-coaster in the shape of Tiffany’s because it was closed down by the C.D.A. but the idea was never to give up. Of course there issues in the form of human resources. It’s very difficult to find good chefs and even when you do it’s very difficult and 18

time-consuming to construct the perfect recipes. But then again if you have to do something then you have to. Do you have an active input in the recipes? Yes, the chef has to be technically right but then you keep making recipes for each dish at least 20 times for guests until the majority say it’s great. A certain chef could have a great recipe for a certain dish but there’s always going to be room for improvement until the customer says so. The Butler launched late August and it’s barely been ten days, the place seems jam-packed. How has the response met your expectations? The response has been great. There are great restaurants in Islamabad but there was place for another good one in the market. I wouldn’t say better because the ones that are already are great too but The Butler’s uniqueness definitely had a space in Islamabad’s market. Allah has been very kind and the response is absolutely great. We have a waiting of about an hour at lunch and dinner time. People are loving the food and decore. It’s a great feeling. What’s been the most rewarding moment in your journey of planning, executing and successfully running The Butler? Everytime I walk upto guests and ask how’s the food and they say they love it. I smile. For the past ten days people have been flooding us with compliments. When they say it’s the best looking restaurant in Pakistan and has one of the best menu offerings. That’s enough for me. The teams great. People are great, they feel like it’s their place and they work hard for it. It’s a good feeling. Have you hosted any celebrities or dignitaries that you feel proud of? I think every guest that comes in, we are proud to host. Celebrities have come in and more will come, but all our customers are our pride and joy. How has your journey been as an entrepreneur in the culinary industry in the capital? It always keeps getting better. There’s always more you can do. If you do not give up in your head, there’s always a chance. The styling of your eateries and restaurants is quite unique. Where do you derive your inspiration form? I see designers going very modern and contemporary these days, I design a bit old school. My style is quite European. You’ll see a mix of English, Italian and French in all of my designs. Are you an avid traveller? I love travelling. You keep registering things without even realising and in my work and life I’ve seen influences of aesthetics I may have picked up in my travels. I do tend to design old-school which you will notice in the furniture, vintage decor etc. What’s next? We’re making The Little Eatery in Gulberg, Lahore and we’re planning on, it’s too soon to say but based on The Butler’s response we’re hoping to open up a Patisserie and restaurant and create a chain out of it. What’s the star dish at The Butler? I’ll start with the soups. I think the Chicken Lemon Soup and the Mushroom Soup is great. The Butler’s chicken strips people will really like. The pastas are homemade. The Grandma’s Herb Chicken is great. People have been loving our in-house patisseries and we plan on making breads and cakes on order. 2016

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our new section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? I went on a road trip to Northern Pakistan to Shogran, which is near Kaghaan and Naraan.. I then travelled to Rehana in Hazara District, I also stopped by the Katas Raj Temples on the way! I love exploring the Nothern Areas of Pakistan its home to such raw natural beauty, it kind of takes your breath away. Having said that it is next to impossible to capture the beauty of that place on camera I believe it has to be experienced. The Katas Raj for their mysterious surroundings. Who did you travel with? The Shogran Trip was a team building exercise so I travelled with my Lotus Pr team. A few days later I visited Rehana and the Katas Raj temples with my children and cousins. I wanted to educate my children about their country and show them how beautiful it really is.
travel diaries
Where did you stay? In Shogran we stayed at the Arcadian Hotel, which is modeled on Swiss Chalets and has a lovely Lawn with at least 6 different kind of Butterflies and ‌uhhh.. lizards. It’s a steep climb up to the hotel and best travelled in open air jeeps. ( unless it’s raining then they do pull up the soft cover) In Rehana we stayed at my cousins ancestral home it was a rustic farm house complete with chickens ducks and a natural Lake. What are the best shopping spots there? The local bazaar in Shogran , you can find local natural occurring semi-precious stones, to straw hats and faux fur bags. In Rehana its best to stick to vegetable picking and collecting fresh eggs in your very own back yard. In Rehana you just want to lay around and look at the hill tops.

What can you do over there to relax and unwind? Sitting in the lawn on the deck chairs and reading a book or taking a nap out in the open is extremely refreshing. Then in Rehana sitting by the nearby village house and gazing at the serenity of the surrounding natural lake and wistful trees makes you feel like you are in the setting of Thomas Hardy book and inspired enough to pen a novel of your own. Finally, any tips? We have been blessed with the most beautiful country complete with mountains, rivers, waterfalls and glaciers we need to learn to appreciate, explore and wonder at it all and most importantly conserve it for our future generations.

travel
Tell us about the sights no one should miss out on In Shogran you are surrounded by very steep mountain tops immersed in clouds and Glaciers that peek through the very tall and majestic pine trees, these would be hard to miss whereas nearby Sri Paye is a most wondrous hike through grassy valleys and small lakes and views of stunning glaciers. A horse ride makes it all even more exciting. Then a drive to the Bab user Top is a must with the wild rapid river rushing down one side of the road and the green mountains topped with icy glaciers lush meadows and pretty waterfalls are just awe inspiring. In Rehana gaze at the rolling hilltops and dusty branches with brightly colored berries and small flowers forever! The Katas Raj Temples are mysterious, eerie and soul capturing all at once the natural occurring mystically aqua pool and temples must be explored.
Suggest places for a perfect night out A walk through the forest in Shogran accompanied with a torch and a sturdy walking stick finishing it off with a strong brew of chai at the local dhaba o round it off! In Rehana lying out under the stars with your blanket and a good heart to heart chit chat with the family would be awesome!
travel diaries
Suggest some amazing restaurants there? In Shogran it would have to be the Arcadian hotel itself they have a varied menu from chinese to local chicken ginger to pasta it all tastes so good right after you come back from a 3 hour hike! In Rehana it would definitely be the farm house kitchen, where the rotis are made in the home made tandoor and the taste of the organic vegetables and chickens can only be rivaled by the home made Lassi.

Don't hold back as the week begins. On Monday, you should follow the urge to let others know how you're feeling (especially women and family members). That emotional clearing could leave you feeling exceptionally energetic from Monday night through Wednesday. Use this boost in creativity and competitiveness to mix things up and make things happen. On Thursday and Friday (and on into early Saturday), you might feel overwhelmed by details. Just take a deep breath and take your time. From Saturday evening through the remainder of the weekend, use your charms to get what you want.
Take a risk as the week begins, especially in romance. In any social situation, though, you can count on being rewarded for your daring on Monday. From Monday evening through Wednesday, you'll need to curb your more cantankerous side. Others might try to draw you into ego battles and power struggles, but a little diplomacy can go a long way. From Thursday to early Saturday, romance could blossom yet again. Use your charms generously. On late Saturday and Sunday, look for ways to give your routine a shot of excitement.
You might not feel your good ol' adaptable self as the week begins, but try not to be too critical. Conflicting demands will make it difficult to be flexible on Monday. The situation should lighten up from Monday evening through Wednesday, as you find yourself the center of attention, surrounded by like-minded friends who want to have fun debating heady ideas. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, you'll need to focus on life's smaller details (like bills and errands), but expect to have a lot more fun on Saturday night and Sunday. You'll have plenty of energy for taking on new things, whether ideas, projects or conversations.
Expect your week to begin on an enthusiastic, energetic note. You'll have no shortage of drive or direction on Monday and others will pitch in to help you accomplish anything you put your mind to. That extravagant energy should carry you well through Wednesday -- so don't be bashful about taking risks right now. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, see to the details and focus on accomplishing smaller tasks. On Saturday evening and Sunday, watch for threats to your domestic bliss. Deploy a full-scale diplomatic effort on the home front.

You're feeling exceptionally generous with your affection and attention as the week begins and that's a good thing. Your warmth and earnestness could help others accomplish a lot on Monday and you can expect to receive that same support returned to you in the days ahead. From Monday evening through Wednesday, you're the center of attention and no effort of yours will go unaided. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, take time to reassess your longterm plans and strategies. On Saturday night and Sunday, focus on your friends. Find any excuse to go have some fun.
Start your week off by organizing something social and fun. That group energy can leave you feeling revved up on Monday and ready for anything. From Monday evening through Wednesday, you might start to feel overwhelmed by pesky details, but don't despair -- with a little flexibility, you can help yourself and others get organized. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, everything will start to click into place and make sense. Use your insights to get a lot done (and to help others do the same). For the rest of the weekend, look for opportunities to dig in deep and get to know others better.
Keep your head down as the week begins. Events will conspire to disrupt your routine on Monday, but your easygoing nature (with an added dose of flexibility) can steer you clear. From Monday evening through Wednesday, others will look to you to take the lead, so be generous with your ideas and your optimistic attitude. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, look for opportunities to hang out with friends (and, especially, to be a good listener and confidante). Late Saturday and Sunday find you extraordinarily charismatic and energetic -- and flirtatious, too!
As the week begins, don't be bashful about going after what you want. Monday should provide perfect opportunities for you to fulfill ambitions (and maybe even dream up some new ones). From Monday evening through Wednesday, you need to curb your ego if you want to avoid getting entangled in an unwelcome power struggle. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, spend time with good friends. Not only will you have fun, you'll probably learn a secret or two, too. On Saturday night and Sunday, relax and let your subconscious help you work through a thorny problem.

Don't get riled up as the week begins! Everything might not be going your way on Monday, but take a deep breath and realize this is just a phase. By late Monday and continuing on through Wednesday, sudden shifts could change your current outlook completely, so don't hesitate to experiment and seek out bold, new discoveries. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, you'll need to take extra care in dealing with details and competing agendas -- especially anything that involves business or finances. On late Saturday and Sunday, find time to meet someone new (and learn something new, too).
Celebrate the start of your week by creating something new -- whether it's a new breakfast, a new friendship or even a new theme song. Your week could get more difficult later on Monday (and on through Wednesday), as complicating details threaten to overwhelm. If you can keep your head down, though, you can resist getting swept up in the demands -- and dramas -- of others. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, jump into action and don't worry about having all the facts first. On late Saturday and Sunday, try to collect on debts in a partnership (whether literal or metaphorical).

Follow your inquisitive mood as the week begins, even if it means asking tough questions. Monday begins with you digging in deep and looking for answers, but by Monday evening -- and on through Wednesday -- you'll be back to your freewheeling, happy-golucky self. Luck is on your side and you should take every attractive risk that comes along. On Thursday, Friday and early Saturday, you'll need to be a little more cautious with details and the demands of others, but that need should evaporate again by late Saturday, when you become the one with all the answers. For the remainder of the weekend, you'll be loved and lauded.
There's change in the air as the week begins. Watch out for new -- and challenging -- ideas on Monday. Even if others overreact, though, don't take any of the resulting debate personally. From late Monday and on through Wednesday, emotions could keep running high. You'll need to summon up your best diplomatic skills to mediate. From Thursday through early Saturday, your extraordinary planning skills and command of the facts will earn you applause, possibly from someone far away. On late Saturday and Sunday, focus on getting a lot done, even if you have trouble getting feedback and connecting with others.
