The first step to flawless-looking skin and fuss-free make-up is starting with a clean canvas.

Making sure you cleanse and tone well will guarantee your base glides on smoothly, leaving no room for patchy mishaps.

Unless you’re part of the tiny percentage that miraculously has perfect, smooth skin, you know what an issue dry skin can pose for applying makeup. The point of makeup products like concealer and foundation is to create a completely clear canvas, smooth and even. Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our new section, planes, trains & automobiles!

Where did you choose to go and why?

We headed over to Rohtas Fort, near Jehlum recently to shoot my latest Luxury Chiffon collection shoot. The reason for choosing the fort is it’s everlasting significance culturally and historically which has always appealed to me. I had always heard of its old world glamour with its ruins and grandeur and felt this was the perfect time to head over – a mix of work and play.

Who did you travel with?

I travelled with my team which included my brand manager, my PR team, Muzi Sufi, Fatima Nasir, and our two beautiful faces for the campaign – Zara Peerzada and Sana Ansari.

Where did you stay?

It was literally a day trip so we were using the office spaces at the Fort during our time there. (The entire travel and shoot time span over 24 hours!!)

What are the best shopping spots there?

The only thing I actually shopped for while we were all there was our flag. As 14th August was approaching, the masses of flags waving in the wind as we approached the fort brought out my inner patriot and I made an impulsive buy with that and other Independence Day related trinkets.

Suggest some amazing restaurants there?

travel diaries What can you do over there to relax and unwind?

Just sit and relax in your time out in the fields or take the steps towards the top of the fort walls and enjoy the view. From each monument within the Fort you see different parts of the Rohtas Fort and its surrounding areas.

Finally, any tips?

Always go in a group so you can enjoy it there, pack up on snacks and LOADS of water/body-salt replenishing drinks, and it would never hurt to have sunscreen and your sunhat!

As long as these preps are in place you can make the most of what Rohtas has to offer you.

Suggest places for a perfect night out?

Night out at Rohtas Fort? I’d definitely not ever recommend wandering around there after dark.

Tell us about the sights no one should miss out on?

Since the Fort's radius is nearly 5KM, it was a lot of ground to cover since we had a day to wrap up. Within that time frame we were able to explore and shoot at the Shah Chandwali Gate which had the most interesting setup. To reach areas around that particular gate we accessed and discovered three different staircases. Yet, there was one place we were unable to find a way to despite trial and error in taking different routes. The Raja Man Singh Haveli was truly a sight, set against the Kabuli Gate backdrop and wild fields ahead.

Trekking to its top was a pleasure and the sight was such that I had never seen. Another place would be the Kabuli Gate where I was able to overcome my eminent fear of heights after all these years! Broken stairs and no boundaries at the top! You're literally just hanging from the sides of the wall with nothing saving you from the fall. Exploring around this gate led us to this area which opened up to different views - one over-

looking the Fort, and another two with views of the Jehlum River - which is where we wrapped up our day. That is the one view I would recommend no one should miss out on if you get the opportunity to visit Rohtas!

The inner-desi within us relied on fresh tikkas and malai botis with fresh nans. It was hands down one of the most enjoyable lunches I have had considering the historical setting and the occasional breeze.
