6 makeup tricks you need to know

1 2 3 4 5 6

@zaragul.official

multitasking mascara

We all use eyebrow pencils or powders for fuller eyebrows. Ditch those and use an old mascara wand for a more natural and 3D look. The trick is to brush against the hair direction first and then comb them back towards the direction of your hair growth. This will elongate and thicken the brows and give them strength.

the powder effect

For a long lasting lip colour, apply your lipstick, lay a tissue over your mouth and dust a translucent powder over it. This will set the shade perfectly, giving an amazing velvety finish. Definitely worth the effort!

There is nothing more unattractive than a harsh lip liner that stays put while your lipstick wears off. To avoid the line, first apply your lip colour, blot it with a tissue paper and then only apply your lip liner. Pat your lipstick on the lips gently for the final finish. Always apply your lipstick in thin layers for a long lasting pout!

seek & hide

Instead of building on layers of foundation on your face, conceal the areas where it is needed to get that flawless complexion while keeping your skin real. Use a thin liner brush or eye shadow brush to apply the concealer on all the small spots and buff it in. This will not only give a seamless finish but also a natural no-makeup look. Note: concealer should ALWAYS match your skin tone.

dewy not disco

Do not highlight your whole forehead and chin. Besides the point/centre of nose, cupids bow and inner eye corners, avoid using the highlighter anywhere down the middle of your face. Apply powder solely on the oily areas - mainly around the nose and T-zone. This will give a perfect dewy look.

defy gravity

To instantly lift your eyes for day-time makeup, apply a black eye pencil on the waterline of the upper eyelid by gently lifting it up. To finish it off, use a brown eyeshadow with your liner brush to gently line your eyes, creating a slight wing in the process. This will give a natural lift to your eyes without the added harshness of eyeliner in daylight.

planes, trains & automobiles

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our new section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? Out of all the places I travelled to on my trip Prague, Rome and Budapest, I'd have to say Budapest was the most notable. I chose Hungary because being a history student Eastern Europe has always fascinated me,especially if one wants to see the relics of communism and the remains of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the Hapsburgs, alongside aristocratic links that still tie the city are all worth it. Who did you travel with? I travelled with my best friend and cousin, it's extremely important to travel with like minded people If you really want to culminate a rich cultural experience. I needed somebody who would enjoy the sightseeing and the food runs as much as I do lol

travel diaries

Where did you stay? We stayed at the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus which was located in the city centre and just a few yards away from St Stephens Basilica. The hotel was beautiful and the facilities were amazing;there was a relaxing spa on the second floor and the hotel also boasted a veritable menagerie of restaurants like Nobu; we loved everything about it What are the best shopping spots there? I focused more on buying trinkets and other memorabilia, the Hungarian fine China and embroidery is particularly noteworthy and one can find lots of flea markets and souvenir stalls on the cobblestone pathways near the Buda Castle. If you're interested in high fashion shopping the Vaci Utca that runs along the domain of Pest not only has historical significance but also an array of

Tell us about the sights noone should miss out on Budapest has been given names like “pearl of the Danube and "Paris of the east."The majestic chain bridge separates the two domains;Buda is the ancient city on the hill, characterised by the medieval district of the Royal Palace and the church of Saint Matthias. Pest, at ground level is the more modern heart of the capital: filled with traffic, shops, hotels, restaurants and clubs. Because I have an old wanderers soul I love exploring basilicas, synagogues and cathedrals; places of worship and spirituality because every country's history runs alongside it's religious relics so St Stephens Basilica alongside fisherman bastion and their hero square all in the Buda castle district are sights to see

What can you do over there to relax and unwind? the Hungarian baths are the ideal form of relaxation, one of the most famous ones being the Szechenyi baths. But the most relaxing experience would be viewing the Budapest sunset against the Hungarian Houses of Parliament. The city is so small and beautiful that exploring it is not at all tiresome, the cobblestoned roads and ancient cathedrals will definitely charm your spirits and the experience altogether will leave you reanimated

Suggest places for a perfect night out The nightlife in Budapest is very rich especially if you're a student

travel

Finally, any tips? My tip would be when travelling and choosing a destination, break the norm of going to the same old places and discover new territories. By choosing Hungary I feel like I came back a more culturally evolved person: the history and their unique idiosyncrasies and eccentric culture alongside their cuisine and extremely friendly locals made the whole experience ethereal. A visit to Budapest not only expands your mental perimeters, it is a journey nothing short of a Wes Anderson movie, the city will appeal to the frugal as its is extremely reasonable and perfect for students, families as well as honeymooners because despite being a small and quaint city, beautiful Budapest has a lot to offer :)

travel diaries

Suggest some amazing restaurants there? I would say Nobu because I just can't get enough of their rock shrimp tempura but If you want the real Hungarian gourmand experience one must go to the Great Market hall and tour their authentic delicatessen stalls or to bistro "Araz" in the old Jewish quarter where they serve a 4 course meal and Hungarian delicacies like goulash, paprikash and succulent gnocchi; mind you Budapest is a meat lovers paradise so it is not for the faint hearted. If you have a sweet tooth just try their world renowned strudel.

you should visit Otkert and Urimuri, however the cultural nightlife is all the more better; concerts, opera, operetta, jazz and ballets should definitely be seen to experience the aristocratic majesty of Budapest. A place not to be missed is the Ludwig museum of contemporary art

designer boutiques that one must check out because everybody knows how truly vogue the Eastern Europeans can be!

Your superhuman drive to get things done is in full effect as the week begins. On Monday and Tuesday, expect to make big progress forging ahead. (Just make sure you don't trample someone you care about as you're blazing this trail.) On Wednesday and Thursday, you'll keep that engine of ambition revving into high gear, but you'll also find within yourself the insight -- and charm! -- to recruit the help of other like-minded people. On Friday and Saturday, slow down to a complete stop if you can. Now is a good time to focus on other people's needs and put your own aside. This Sunday, use your ample energy to do something spontaneous.

Stick to your guns as the week begins. You're feeling especially grounded and sure of yourself (and your plans) on Monday and Tuesday, and that selfassured outlook should translate into a deeper perspective on your current situation. On Wednesday and Thursday, you could find yourself wanting to butt heads with someone who's trying to get a rise out of you -- but don't let them get what they want. Just display that famous patience. On Friday and Saturday, find common cause with others (especially friends). They'll be sympathetic to your cause and eager to lend a hand. This Sunday, enjoy a burst of enthusiasm and energy -- even if you're in a big hurry with nowhere to go.

Who's in charge here? You might find yourself jockeying for the lead on Monday and Tuesday, but try not to take this competition too seriously. The point behind this struggle -- and the motivations of your fellow strugglers -- should become clear soon enough. On Wednesday and Thursday, expect your opinions to be swayed by someone charismatic. Whether you buy what you're hearing or not, it's a good time for some deep thought. On Friday and Saturday, clarity won't come easy -- and don't count on your usually incredible communication skills to help clear things up. Look for a more creative solution instead. This Sunday, take a friend's advice and take the initiative.

You might not feel like coming out as the week begins, but try to be brave. On Monday and Tuesday, you'll need to muster up some strength to make things right in a personal relationship. On Wednesday and Thursday, you'll pick up a trick or two from watching others interact -- an intellectual appeal is sometimes better than an emotional one, and you've got the sensitivity to tell the difference. This Friday and Saturday, expect your mind to wander. Fortunately, with daydreams as your mental fuel, you'll find yourself with exceptional intuition. On Sunday, think before you speak.

You know what you want, and you're not afraid to go after it as the week begins. Monday and Tuesday are both good days for realizing your adventurous ambitions -- and you can expect others to be impressed by your enthusiastic attitude. On Wednesday and Thursday, that same can-do energy could lead you into conflict if you're not careful. Be sensitive to other people's egos and look for ways that everyone can win (even if they require more patience). On Friday and Saturday, listen to your instincts. It's a good time to do research and clarify the motivations of others. This Sunday, learn something new (and have fun doing it).

21April/21May

virgo

Your hard work and creativity are paying off as the week begins! Follow-through is its own reward of course, but on Monday and Tuesday you'll get more tangible results from your efforts. (And don't be surprised if others find that ambitious energy of yours attractive.) On Wednesday and Thursday, consider some experimentation to complement your already extraordinary organizational skills -- you might just might find an even better way of doing things. On Friday and Saturday, don't count on getting things done (or on getting people to move as quickly as you might like). Be flexible and take this as an opportunity to take it easy. On Sunday, search for your true sense of purpose -- and expect to find it.

Try to break through old limits as the week begins. Monday and Tuesday might feel maudlin and moody, but you should take these as opportunities to get past any weird sentimentality that's been holding you back. On Wednesday and Thursday, people enjoy your company (as usual). Enjoy all the attention and try to connect with someone new. On Friday and Saturday, don't cling too closely to your routine -- flexibility is the key, and a little patience goes a long way. This Sunday, it's up to you. Whatever you bring to a situation or relationship (good or bad) will be magnified.

The beginning of this week is a great time to lock things down and make big decisions. Your determination and self-assurance are unmatched on Monday and Tuesday, and others will fall all over themselves to help you. On Wednesday and Thursday, your passions could lead to trouble on the home front -- you'll have to find creative ways to keep the emotional peace. (Or, alternately, maybe an airclearing outburst is exactly what you need.) On Friday and Saturday, expect to command amazing creativity. Indulge your imagination in playful (and possibly romantic) ways. This Sunday, start something -- especially something that helps someone else.

You'll be unusually obsessed with money and material things as this week begins, but that doesn't mean you need to be a grumpy Scrooge. You'll have the originality on Monday and Tuesday to find creative ways to pinch pennies (like packing your own lunch?). On Wednesday and Thursday, you're at your outgoing, confident best, and others will be smitten by your charms. Make close connections and learn something new. On Friday and Saturday, you might have trouble getting going, so the best solution might just be staying put. This Sunday, embrace your inner kid. Go on and goof off!

Your carefully premeditated strategies should pay off as the week begins. Others will take notice (and be impressed!) as your plans come together on Monday and Tuesday, and you should be proud of your results. On Wednesday and Thursday, progress gets a little more difficult, and things might not be quite what they seem. Consider changing the way you're approaching this problem -- you could use a new perspective. On Friday and Saturday, everyone is on your side! Use teamwork -- with a dash of creativity -- to get things done (even if the only thing you accomplish is having some fun). This Sunday, don't be afraid to delay. Put off big decisions for another day.

Buckle down and get focused! You need to show some discipline as the week begins if you don't want to spend all of Monday and Tuesday flailing around. On Wednesday and Thursday though, your concentration will make a comeback, and you'll have plenty of energy to focus on your goals. Start a revolution! (Or at least start a conversation -- people will hang on your every word.) On Friday and Saturday, settle back down and set your mind on your finances. Now is a good time to reassess budgets and priorities. This Sunday, set your thoughts free and make a bold discovery.

As the week begins, expect some assistance from on high (like higher up the ladder). Aid will come on Monday or Tuesday. Be generous and share your good fortune. On Wednesday and Thursday, your ambitious compassion will start to stir (you know, that feeling you get when you want to help out everyone all at once?). It's fine to pitch in, but go easy on yourself -- nobody expects you to save the world. On Friday and Saturday though, a supercharged boost of energy might feel like you almost could. Put that superhero-style enthusiasm and creativity to good use. Then on Sunday, quiet back down for a lazy, dreamy day.
