The "Sauvage" collection was definitely one of the most awaited collections this year. The prints were vibrant, cuts were edgy and embellishments were on point. We love how they played with the symmetry of prints and solids, not missing out on their signature tailored crop tops and voluminous skirts. Our favourites were the belted half wrap and boxy top with beaded collar and neck.

zaheer abbas Starting with a powerful black and gold series, Abbas showcased another classic combination of red with gold embroidery and finished with an an all ivory with self coloured embellishments collection.

The black velvet shalwar with intricate gold embroidery around the ankles paired with a shirt heavily embroidered around the shoulders was a treat to the eyes.

This collection has touched all the right notes, colours and hemlines of the season.

Not only did Sana Safinaz showcase a wide variety of prints, they also used them on a variety of fabrics. We loved their tailored blazers paired with bellbottoms and the two-piece velvet suits.

This collection displayed a high level of technique, skill and craftsmanship.

Tena Durrani showcased lighter colours and jewel tones as opposed to the predicted darker hues of the winter season. Her signature floral embroidery was seen throughout the collection.The colourful embellishments on the outfits truly represent a celebration of this festive season. The collection was flirty and feminine and we especially loved the concept of jacket over a sari.

Although Faraz Manan's collection wasn't completely new and an extension of his show in Dubai, we were still in love with what he brought to the ramp! His signature hues of gold was reflective throughout the collection. The hemlines were quite consistently knee length and the tea pink outfits were a refreshing change. We cannot wait to see his outfits from ramp to reality this wedding season as we predict he will be a very popular choice for many.

Shehla celebrated her 20 years in the industry by showcasing a bridal collection this year. Her collection consisted of maroon embroidered lehngas, lehngas with leather weaves, and velvet shawls. The draped sleeves and dhoti shalwars were quite flattering! Her signature fringes and asymmetric cuts were evident throughout the collection. Chatoor truly gave us the traditional bridal embroideries on modern and trendy silhouettes.

Heavy pearl embellishments, attention to detail and amazing crafstmanship best describe Nida Azwer's collection this year. It showcased both modern and traditional silhouettes! Her signature motifs and cutouts were seen throughout the collection alongside some new 3D embroidery techniques. The colours were kept soft and pastel paired with darker tones such as rouge and noir. We love!

One of the most powerful collections we have ever seen, Nilofer Shahid left the entire audience stunned. Starting with gorgeous drapes of earthy tones, the collection then showcased a series of jewel toned outfits. Her wellresearched and executed Rembrandt collection took us back to medieval royalty!

The darker dramatic tones of her jackets and capes were absolutely breathtaking. The collection was absolutely dreamy and hit all the right notes in terms of embroidery, fabric, texture and tailoring.

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our new section, planes, trains & automobiles!

Where did you choose to go and why?

Travel is my ultimate hobby, picking one place as a favorite is like asking a tubby child their favorite candy, but if i had to, my destination of choice is Jordan. It had been on my list of places for a while only cause of the notable history (Roman, Greek, Ottoman, Islamic, and over all biblical). The ruins, forts, amphitheaters, churches, citadels, colonnades, and in fact entire cities have been preserved for centuries. Of the countless famous sights, there is, of course, the Dead Sea (which I absolutely had to cancel off my bucket list!). Imagine reclining on your couch reading a magazine, except here the couch is A SEA! Who did you travel with?

My cousin, my friend in Germany, and I made the plan initially!

Unfortunately, my friend’s visa never came. So very last minute,

among thoughts of cancelling, my cousin and I decided to go.

Being such, we had no bookings, no plan, no itinerary; we literally just landed in Amman. From there on it was madness as we were planning and booking on a day-to-day basis. We’d never travelled together before and although we made great companions there were things to be learnt.

Where did you stay?

One of the best hotels we stayed at was the Movenpick in Petra.

It was superb. It was perfect for families too. Location couldn’t get more ideal, it’s right at the entrance of the famed archeological site of Petra and on the other side one can see the entire city on the hill lit up at night.

What are the best shopping spots there?

What can you do over there to relax and unwind?

I highly recommend the Dead Sea Spa Hotel, it’s a beautiful resort with a great spa, good food, 3 different pools, and best of all it’s got private access to the Dead Sea just meters away where you can take your time floating around!

Finally, any tips?

Petra by night is a something most people miss out. It’s a gorgeous 2 km walk through the Siq upto the Treasury where it’s all lit up by eighteen thousand candles. Most hotels and tourist spots you won’t have a language problem. But once on the street, with local venders, shop attendants, waiters etc, be prepared for some sign language skills. Suggest places for a perfect night out.

Well, perfect is a relative term obviously but for us Abdoun Circle in Amman was a very fun and happening place to hang out in the evening. It is a roundabout where people were all around us, surrounded by restaurants, bars, sheesha bars and coffee shops.

It was very brightly lit and definitely full of activity and life. The music and sounds makes you feel like you can never get enough.

Fakh el Din is a must try! Fancy and upscale Lebanese cuisine. I suggest it for dinner (make your reservations). Hashem is another one. However, this is a public place, always crowded, because it’s famous for being frequented by the local celebrities, politicians, and I think some members of the royal family as well. Great for local street food. Try the Mansef and Knafeh here. Mostly I would suggest that everyone try the Arabic cuisine. The vast amount of starters, stuffed meat balls, variations of samosa’s, hummas with meat, kabab’s, shawarma’s, falafels, and the lamb were all mouthwatering!

3. Snorkeling in Aqaba, Red Sea! Definitely a no miss either. The water is clear blue you can see till several meters below the surface. The near perfect soft coral incredibly rich in colours and full with all sort of marine life.

I personally am not one to shop in malls or high end commercial branded shops. On vacation I love to go to local markets and bazaars and pick up souvenirs and trinkets local to the area. In Amman that place was called Down Town District. Shopping for the Dead Sea Salt products is a MUST! All sorts of scrubs, massage lotions, creams, mud masks, all yummy products for hair and skin. Natural and genuine!
