food edit How did the love affair with food start? I like exploring new varieties of food in Karachi and also when I travel. However claiming that I have a “love affair” with food would be too extreme. When and how did you start working as a home based chef? I had been baking for family and friends and always wanted to start doing it professionally. BAKE magar pyar se turned one in may. Tell us a little bit about your business. When the first thought occurred to me to venture into something with the sparse resources of a home kitchen, I discussed my ideas with my family and some friends and decided that for starters I should restrict myself to a niche area – an exclusive brownie with a catchy and uniquely pakistani brand name. Have you received any professional training? No, but i do watch a lot of food shows and also plan on going for a course soon. Your absolute favourite thing that you make yourself? Dahi ka meetha (yoghurt pudding) which is a family recipe. Is there any particular food dish that you wish you made or were better at making? I love sushi and i wish i could make it. What are your plans for the future of your business? My aim is to have a cozy little cafe in one of the malls. I do not wish to make it a big commercial venture but rather restrict it for catering to people who appreciate good desserts. How are customers supposed to contact you and place orders?
