How did you end up in this field?

I was in New York when I was offered to do a drama.

At that time I was working as a copywriter back there, so when the opportunity came my way I seized it.

What makes you choose the roles that you opt for?

Initially I did not put my heart and soul into choosing a role; I would just focus on a good script. However, now I am very focused and driven to the fact on how to choose my roles. I tend to look for variety and diversity in my roles that will help me explore the true artist in me.

Do you think Juvenile obsession is not given enough attention?

Yes definitely, it is not given much attention. My recent drama Qaid in fact was based on juvenile obsession and explored the whole side to it. Unfortunately I do believe that our society does not talk about this issue on the level that it deserves. It is a prevailing problem and more people need to speak up about it.

I think TV. What are your thoughts on nepotism?

Nepotism definitely exists in this industry and a lot of people do say that I am the product of nepotism.

However, I believe nepotism only works to a certain extent. I might get one or two projects because of it but in order to sustain it does not work. Nobody is going to put money in a project or a film if one is not talented enough.

You are working with your mother and aunt, how has that been?

Working with my mother and aunt has truly been a delight. From being pampered on set to getting yummy home cooked food everyday by Bushra Khala, everything was just great. On top of that I gained so much while working with them as they both used to teach me how my accent needs to be in a particular scene. The amount of support that they gave me every step of the way was immense.

How was the experience of working in a film?

My first film is Asim Raza’s Parey Hut Love, has been truly magnificent. Working on it was such a lovely experience as I got to learn a lot on how films work in our industry.

How different is your Chhalawa character from the rest you have done?

My character in Chhalawa is very different from

How does it feel to be working alongside your husband in your next project Chhalawa?

It was so much fun and I absolutely had the best time with him on the set. He is a darling at home but he is much more fun at the set. He is very quiet and would find a corner where he could go and watch his series even on the set!

What kind of roles are you looking to work with in the future?

To be honest I am still in the process of figuring out that what kind of roles I want to do further.

After both my films are done then I will probably see in which new direction I want to head.

For you success is..?

For me success is mental health, peace and happiness. If I am able to achieve that then I believe I am a successful person.

Who has been your biggest inspiration and why?

My biggest inspiration has been my mother who has been a fighter and a survivor. Also my father who has taught me to always be truthful, to be kind, to be humble, to be modest which sometimes does bite me back but I am so glad I am the way they taught me to be.

She was accompanied by stylist Law Roach playing the fairy godmother, who actually in real life helped her transform from a Disney star to a grown up!

KIM KARDASHIAN Most creative costume Kim Kardashian’s silicone dress was designed by the French designer Manfred Thierry Muglar. It was made to look like “A California girl stepping out of the ocean”. It was truly the most realistic costume we saw on the pink carpet.

JARED LETO Costume that freaked us out Jared Leto wore a Gucci outfit with a decapitated head as an accessory on the Met Gala. He wore a silky red high neck gown complete with shoulder pads and jewel encrusted. This year Jared has taken the look to camp heights and that stole the show, however we were a little freaked out too.

KATY PERRY Most eccentric costume Katy Perry dressed up as a chandelier designed by Moschino’s Jeremy Scott. It was a forty pound chandelier with 18 steel bones and two hidden battery packs to illuminate the lights. Katy Perry is never boring and we love it.

LIAM HEMSWORTH & MILEY CYRUS Best dressed couple Jared Leto wore a Gucci outfit with a decapitated head as an accessory on the Met Gala. Sure, I’ll give you 4 fun facts: * I moved to Karachi in 2016 from Chicago to pursue a career in acting. * I’m a lover of all things art. * I think I'll soon become the male version of a “crazy cat lady” * My most prized possession growing up was a waterbed that my dad bought me.

Did you always want to become an actor?

In one way or the other I’ve been an actor all my life in fact I have no memory of ever not being an actor.

It’s true that it took a lot of steep ups and downs which eventually lead me to that moment of epiphany and I think it is safe to say that acting is not something I do for a living it is something I do to stay alive.

Who has been your biggest influence in the industry?

My biggest influence in the industry was my father who was an actor in the late 70’s and gave many hit movies like, bemisaal, naukar, ishq ishq directed by the ace director Shabab Karanvi.

What would you say is the most exciting part of your job?

Being an actor there is something oddly satisfying about living in the unknown and having the opportunity to be anything and everything.

What does your typical day look like?

Apart from the typical work routine I do make it a priority to spend time with my loved ones. I am definitely a people’s person who values strong relationships and feel my best when surrounded by my friends and family, so in a typical day, one way or the other you will find me around my family and friends… or making new friends.

Tell us about any challenges you have come across since starting your career.

I think one of my biggest challenges has been to overcome self doubt. It takes a lot to let one’s guard down and open one’s self towards criticism and I think as a newbie in the industry I constantly struggled with doubting my capabilities and paying a lot of attention to what people thought about me and my acting which diverted a lot my attention away from building my skills and towards trying to please people. However, once I overcame that issue, my

learning curve skyrocketed and really helped me in developing the confidence to trust myself, filter unnecessary thoughts and information, and reach out for constructive criticism.

Are you working on any exciting new projects currently?

Plenty of them! A lot of good content coming on air soon.. stay tuned..

Is there anyone in the film industry whom you would like to collaborate with?

Yes there is. If I get a chance and a good script I would love to work with Nadeem baig.

Do you have any other passions or talents?

Hidden talent: A unique ability to get in trouble. haha jk!

Passion: Yes, I absolutely love music and romantic poetry.

What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

“Your life is the cup you’ve been given and what you fill it with is exactly what you will be drinking.”
