Where did you choose to go and why?

I went to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. It was on my list of cities to see and a friend was turning 40 so we decided to visit KL for a weekend getaway and it was well worth it.

Who did you travel with?

I went with a group of friends.

Tell us about sites no one should miss out on?

Batu Caves are magical then one must visit the Petronas Twin Towers which are the highest twin towers in the world. Genting islands is also a must visit!

Moreover, KLCC tower has a revolving restaurant on the top which shouldn’t be missed.

The list goes on and on but the Islamic museum and temples are also worth seeing!

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our section, planes, trains & automobiles!

Suggest places for a perfect night out?

Marinis on 57th has my vote as the service and food both were top notch there. One must also try Nobu that has opened next to it in the Twin Towers. Isabel is a great Thai and Malaysian fusion cuisine.

Moreover, Wizards at Tribeca had the best brunch in KL,Preggo at Westin had yummy brick oven pizzas and The Iron Fairies at TREC had burgers to die for.

What can you do to relax and unwind?

Banyan tree spas were 5 minutes walk from where I was staying so that’s where i went for relaxation. KL has some amazing malls like Gardens mall, Pavilion mall and Suria mall for retail therapy. The KLCC park is ideal for an evening walk.

Tips?

Take your summer wardrobe to Malaysia as its humid and rains a lot there. If you have taken dollars, get them changed from the city not the airport. Furthermore, download grab on your phone for better and cheaper alternate to city taxis.
