dawn to dusk: la pello our favourite fashionista samah mudasar shows you how you can wear la pello winter essentials from day to night with on point styling.

Day I wanted to have fun with the mink. It speaks volumes for itself so I kept it super laid back and simply in tan tights, a white shirt and my hair tied in a pony. The mink fur sat wonderfully on one shoulder to complete this look.

Night At night I changed into a black dress, black tights and booties. I draped the fur luxuriously around my shoulders to complete the look.

Day I went for an ultra chic look with a plain black sweater paired with leather tights and statement sunglasses. The colour of the fur really popped with the all black look.

karachi eat yet again karachi eat takes the city by storm in 2017! frere hall was doused in flavors and spices ranging from the inexperienced hands of home-based chefs to ginormous culinary legends. In these three days amidst the excitement and chaos paperazzi found its favorites at karachi eat.

On the top of our list is Jucy Lucy!

We could eat Jucy Lucy everyday and it still wouldn't be enough! The patty, the cheese the perfectly toasted buns, each bite was foodie heaven! Waiting for an official store launch to grab a bite daily!

Breast and Loin does it again After their launch into the world of culinary expertise just last year, they haven't failed to impress!

A second time around Breast and Loin blew us away with their Smashamosas and absolutely divine Sliders!

Breast and Loin presents Waffle Witch Hands down the best dessert at Karachi Eat 2017! Waffle Witch had never ending queues all three days.

Their waffles were definitely worth the wait!

Fatso The chili cheese fries and hotdog are a standard Fatso speciality! However this time around their French toast had everyone come back for more!

Amongst these standout stalls, there were at least a hundred other's with excellent options to choose from and food that already has us counting down to Karachi Eat 2018!

Lady Marmalade Fried Oreos! That's all that has to be said. Divine, crispy Fried Oreos. Now isn't that the best way to satisfy your sweet tooth?

Chai Wala For those more interested in something to keep them warm during the chilliest days in Karachi, there was no one better than Chai Wala. Their tea wasn't their only attraction, the chai Wala stall in all its bright and colourful glory was mesmerising!

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our section, planes, trains & automobiles!

Where did you choose to go and why?

I'm not a fan of visa complications (aka I'm lazy)- Turkey is an easy 10 minute e-visa process if you have a valid UK/US/Schengen visa.

With the ticket prices being somewhat lower, good weather on the horizon, cheap tourism, the amazing history and architecture Istanbul offers, and the need to get out and explore a new country... it was a solid winner on many grounds. I dug into my savings for a 5 day escape, and there was no looking back.

Who did you travel with?

Though initially a solo plan, I lucked out and a university friend flew in from the States considering he had been planning on visiting Turkey for a while too. The dates matched, and it was great meeting up after a 5 year hiatus. Absolute winning. Also he looks a lot like Messi, so..more winning.

Where did you stay?

Being a pretty frugal traveler, I don't splurge much on hotels considering I've been out and about enough now to be able to sleep on any surface. We found a pretty economical option called Istanbul Holiday Hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet- a very short walk from the main touristy attractions, a decent range of restaurants, and the tram station as well. It was a quiet street yet abundant with cafes and other stores so that all day-to-day needs were being met.

What are the best shopping spots there?

Again, I like to invest in experiences and not exactly price tagged objects. However, if you are generous with your money, Istiklal street is the place to be with a lot of domestic and international brands. There are local markets everywhere if you are more into textiles, art, handicrafts, crockery, spices, jewellery or scents- definitely a haven for anyone looking to jazz up their living spaces with some Turkish vibrance.

Tell us about the sights no one should miss out on Istanbul has a lot to offer- the bosphorus cruise is a relaxing experience on the water, definitely take a walking tour around Sultanahmet to explore the main sights such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Hippodrome of Constantinople.

I strongly recommend finding a guide who can help explain the historical relevance of these attractions, otherwise you'll be unable to really appreciate the craftsmanship and intents. If you're a street art enthusiast, the Asian side had a lot to offer. Istanbul is home to quite a few supremely talented artists dominating the most unexpected walls.

What can you do over there to relax and unwind?

Istanbul has very friendly locals, don't be surprised if you're invited over for tea and a game of backgammon. Go for a session at the hammam, or just sit on one of the bazillion benches, hear the call to prayer echo around, and munch on some corn or simit from a street vendor. There's a thriving night life as well with some well known places such as Reina that promises great views for the party animal in you.

Finally any tips?

First and foremost- pack some medication. Being sick with no tried and tested meds to battle the new food and environment was not my best decision. Secondly, the cab drivers are notorious for overcharging tourists so always try to take an estimate from your hotel reception before heading out to avoid spending unreasonable amounts on the non-metered taxis. English fluency isn't exactly too common, so download a translator app. Lastly, it's a vacationno one knows you, you know no one, so let loose, be crazy, and do what you want, it's probably nothing Istanbul hasn't already witnessed before :)

Suggest places for a perfect night out Personally, a perfect night out is quite subjective. Whether you're in search for a bar with live music, a club with more bassy vibes, want

to get some Turkish tea and desserts, or want to sit smoke sheesha under the open sky- Istiklal street is the winning combination to meet these goals. The lights, ambiance, crowds, musicians, hustle and bustle- it's the place to be to have fun while being merciful towards your pockets.

Turkey is all about kababs, if you're a fan of protein there is no better place to be. The best meal I had was at a quite a hole-in-thewall cafe called "Pepo" right next to Galata tower- we were hungry beyond belief and the place had an inviting mellow yet artistic vibe about it. We went with the server's recommendation and got this interesting blend of cheese, chicken, dough and rice- the best carb fest ever. The outdoor seating was comfy with complimentary blankets as well for the chillier nights. For desserts, Hafiz Mustafa is the best name in the game, everything from their baklava to Turkish delights are confectioneries that should be on every traveler's must try list.
