Winter is about individuality, it's about embracing your own beauty and maybe blending the androgynous look to some effect. Eye liner The statement arty, heavily lined eyes are so in that there’s a new dimension been given to the classic eyeliner, from straight lines to sharp angles. A few of my favourite to go to products are Bobbi brown -long-wear gel eyeliner in black ink (for all those girls wondering how Adele gets her eyeliner look, this is what she uses ) L'Oréal Gelmatic pencil, and Mac- fluid line in black track.

Cheeks Rosy cheeks are the poster child for good health and have never been more popular. It’s time to embrace your blusher shades for flushed cheeks. Finally, trendier than contouring. The goal is to look like you just went on a brisk, wintry walk. Show off those gorgeous cheekbones for once. Highly recommend Chanel- rouge profound, Mac- frankly scarlet, Nars- blush to give you the perfect flush blush look.

LIPS The dark lip is so in trend ladies. Push the boundaries and vamp it up with bold lips. It gives immediate character to the face. Products definitely worth investing in are Huda beauty lip shade famous, Kylie cosmetics lip shade spice and NARS, charlotte Skin Healthy looking fresh and radiant skin is back. It is another trend that has transcended time appearing again. The Creamy looking dewy skin is a must. It’s all about the glow this season with the luminous skin look. Lashes The trend is for clumpy doll like, untamed lashes. Adding super long and thick faux eye lashes can change a whole lot about your look. Make your eyes look larger and more awake. What is your collection inspired by?

Studio S will be presenting a bridal couture collection inspired by the life and work of eminent artist and enigmatic woman 'Amrita Sher-Gil.'

What is your collection inspired by?

The collection is spring 2017 inspired from vintage textiles such as the kaani shawls and dated European tapestry. The orient meets western sensibilities to create a chic yet romantic renaissance.

What are your expectations from the London Fashion Parade?

LFP is always a wonderful show to be a part of and we're very excited for this show in particular as it's FP 'Bride' and the location will be spectacular.

What are your expectations from the London Fashion Parade?

Lfp is a great opportunity to showcase as it offers exclusivity for luxury wear & set against historical venue. It befits the ethos of the Shamaeel brand.

tena durrani What is your collection inspired by?

We are showcasing our bridal couture at London Fashion Parade, and as always at Tena Durrani the inspiration for bridals, first and foremost, is the highest echelon of feminine beauty. This year however, we did focus a lot more on the colour red in all its various interpretations, hence the collection name 'A Rouge Affair'. We do have a few surprising palette cleansers colourise for London Fashion Parade, to introduce a more contemporary appeal to the overall collection.

What are your expectations from the London Fashion Parade?

For us, it's more about collaborating with new organizations, reaching out to existing regions with a fresher approach, which is what I feel is ideally what London Fashion Parade excels at; presenting a unique 2.0 version of every designer they showcase, while staying true to the ethos of the brand.

What is your collection inspired by?

We are bringing joy to the ramp, taking inspiration from the rich culture of Pakistan and Sindh, we are exhibiting our signature vibrant colour palettes, peplum silhouettes, creating voluminous looks with skirts and lehngas and fusing elaborate embroidery with fresh silhouettes and colour What are your expectations from the London Fashion Parade?

London Fashion Parade is always an enjoyable experience and a growing one at that, we have a good market in the U.K. and Europe so it's a great platform to showcase our designs to the growing market.

rani emaan What is your collection inspired by?

The collection "The Sublime and the Beautiful" by Rani Emaan's is the personification of the bridal avatar in gold infused with the color palette of the well complementing colours. The collection is inspired by the subtle and sublime gold colour palette of the Baroque era.

Rani Emaan's hopes and expects to grow more in the international world of fashion after the LFP. A million thanks to the organisers of Fashion parade by the studio TCS London for having given an opportunity to Rani Emaan's for being a part of this spectacular presentation.

sherezad rahimtoola What is your collection inspired by?

My signature collection features a range of jewellery with a strong emphasis on gem stones and stylised details that make each piece feel personal and special.

One of the best attributes of my collection is that there is a lot of personality which to me is important when you are embellishing your fashion choices.

What are your expectations from the London Fashion Parade?

I am looking to expand our market to the west and in my opinion LFP is amongst the best platform.

saira rizwan What is your collection inspired by?

Our collection has been inspired by the beautiful city of France 'Chantilly', where the exquisite and fine lace originated. We aim to focus on the modern bride of today. The collection includes 10 designs, which will be a mix of fomals and bridals.

What are your expectations from the London Fashion Parade?

We will be presenting our collection 'Chantilly' at Fashion Parade Bride this year. This will be our second year at Fashion Parade and as always we are looking foward to a prestigious and grand event in London.

faiza samee What is your collection inspired by?

This time around for Fashion Parade, Faiza Samee will be showcasing a mix of our finest contemporary bridal wear pieces, hand crafted using traditional subcontinental techniques and artistry. This season's collection showcases the colour pallete of spring, ranging from the most vibrant to more delicately muted tones, with a diverse mixture of textiles; from hand woven brocades, to hand block printed & hand painted velvets. We strive to reintroduce lost skills and our collection this time around is a testament to that philosophy.

What are your expectations from the London Fashion Parade?

My previous experience with LFP has always been wonderful.I am thrilled and very excited this time around.

as an alumna of nca, going to a degree show every year is the only way i can relive my student days, hang out with my friends in the same place we used to hang out years ago. degree shows are also a chance for me to ascertain new and upcoming talent in the varying fields up for show. each and everyone’s work is unique and great in their own way. Here i share a few of the talented students from the fine arts department. Some of them have really impressed me with their thought process and work of art.

AT NATIONAL COLLEGE OF ARTS nairah sharjeal She is from Lahore, previously from Lahore Grammar School. Nairah says she has always had an interest in art. She graduated from NCA with a distinction, having majored in painting. However, she worked with sculpture.

HER CONCEPT “My thesis revolves around the concept of impermanence, every passing moment being a death unto itself. I cast mundane, overlooked objects which in a way surpass human calibre in terms of strength, using polyester fibre. This fibre which is usually used in bed comforters is stripped to get thin delicate layers which form a basis for my work. My source of inspiration is a snake’s skin when it has been shed, the shed skin being a metaphor for mortality and the constant flow of time. The casts exude a ghostly aura that seem reachable and unreachable at the same time, begging to be utilized despite being dysfunctional.”

somia khalid This talented young woman completed her early education from APS Gujranwala. She enrolled in NCA to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an artist. At the time of her thesis she wanted to prove to the world that Gujranwala is not just a city of foodies but also has artists.

HER CONCEPT “My work is about contorted realities and destruction and formation. Mirrors have fascinated me for as long as I can remember, their ability to mimic reality made me wish for an alternative reality. I used mirrors to create interactive pieces of art trying to forge the reflections to create an alternate reality.

There are times in life when you get accused by your very dear ones and you don’t want to move ahead with the time wheel, but you try to connect yourself symbolically with the things that fulfil your peace of mind. This installation is a depiction of that symbolic connection with those shattered pieces of confidence. The floating shards of glass depict the static state of time.”

saddam murad He is from Swat, where he studied in the Government School in Mingora, got an admission at the National College of Arts in Lahore where he graduated with honours.

HIS CONCEPT “My work is based on the fact that we, in our country live in a male dominated society. In the region I grew up in, our male members have always suppressed the female gender, making male chauvinism the norm.

Utilizing oil paints on a canvas covered in gauze, I've made compositions that are predominated by the male figures with female figures strewn about in the background, hovering, alluding to their unimportance and second class citizen’s status in our society. The canvases, after extraction of the gauze from the surface, become works separate from the paint on the gauze.”

fahad saleem He is from Karachi, belonging to a family that has nothing to do with the creative field so his choice to pursue Visual Arts as a profession after studying pre-engineering came as a shock to his family. He graduated with honours.

HIS CONCEPT “I believe there is a constant struggle present within everyone. This struggle within ourselves creates internal turmoil that leaves us self conflicted and isolated. By exploring the inner landscape, I capture and translate this turmoil in a visual form currently using application and removal of charcoal on canvases to achieve the right skin like texture on the surfaces.”

ghazi sikander This Lahore based artist at NCA chooses mediums that are usually simple and his message is straightforward. He aspires to explore more ordinary forms of mediums to be able to demonstrate the common man and pave a path forward.

HIS CONCEPT “When travelling on the streets of Lahore and encountering the traffic, there is a dystopia that can be felt. The journey yet continues. It is common people on common transport that form the basis of my work. The works in the end seem like pictures of the new, developing and upcoming Lahore.

Lahore is close to my heart and having grown in the city, I wanted to project the collage in my mind onto my canvas.”

abdul aziz Abdul Aziz is from Chitral. He has done his primary education from an Army school and then moved on to a government college for his Fsc and Bsc in mathematics and physics. After which he decided to apply for fine arts in Nca due to his high interest in art.

HIS CONCEPT “In my thesis work, I have used my own body as a medium to make impressions on wasli and treated them with Siah Qalam and Neem Rang. It makes a tactile texture of the body, with distorted forms giving a feeling of ambiguity. I see certain elements of fear and suffering in my work. When I stand in front of my work I see a rush of memories hitting me like waves.”

He was born in Kasur, joined NCA in 2013 and graduated with a distinction. He chooses oil on canvas as his medium for his work.

HIS CONCEPT “Relationships mean different things to different people. Most of us have to take time out of our routines to fulfil them. I have painted my experiences with relationships as a person who finds it hard to function without a significant other.”

nakhshab rehman Nakhshab is from Multan, he studied Pre Engineering from Punjab College, Multan. He got into NCA and did a year of architecture, after which he realised he was more into Fine Arts so he shifted his department and majored in painting.

HIS CONCEPT “My work is based on old interactive and mechanical animation techniques. Which makes the viewer experience work directly without any digital medium. The visual represents the idea about infinite thought, restricted by tangible or intangible elements. There is a struggle to discover what is beyond the finite, which provokes curiosity, anticipation and lures the observer. The pieces displayed are hand-made manual animation devices which continuously run in loops, creating an infinite cycle of the same motion. The devices used are the mutoscope and phenakistoscope. Speed, key-frame imagery and light are the key factors responsible for creating the loop of images. This relates with my notion that the universe is constantly moving in a repetitive loop.”

mahnoor malik She was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan. After completing her A Levels from LGS she got into National College of Arts in the Fine Arts Department and lived her dream of being an artist.

HER CONCEPT “My work is inspired by Children's stories and the idea of exploration.

Cutting paper by hand and fitting it into a shadow box, I constructed surreal images depicting astronauts playing their role of explorers deconstructing the minds of authors and readers alike.”

neha syed She is from Lahore, recently completed her degree from NCA in Fine Arts, majoring in miniature painting.

HER CONCEPT “My work is about security barriers, the claustrophobic nonchalance of these diversions casually placed in such a way to make the motorists form lines and conform to the dictum of these multi-coloured impediments. There is repulsion and acceptance, all in one. These barriers are a part of our city’s façade more than they are a security wise necessity. Gouache on wasli is the medium I use in all my work.”
