yield to any pressure, saying that neither assemblies will be dissolved, not snap polls will be announced. the sources went on to say that the pmL-n government and its allies have decided that the current setup will complete its tenure till August 2023 and the general elections would be held at the stipulated time next year. the insiders detailed that the allies were of the view that the Election commission of pakistan (Ecp) has already announced date for the next general elections and it is not possible to hold polls early. the sources claimed that prime minister shehbaz sharif will announce future line of action after important meeting with allies on Wednesday. it is important to mention here that

former prime minister and pti chairman imran Khan announced long march on islamabad on Wednesday (may 25). the sources added that the coalition partners also decided that pti’s long march will be handled in a democratic way and they will not be allowed to hold a rally on srinagar Highway in islamabad. meanwhile, interior minister Rana sanaullah warned that the government will not let the pti long march become successful saying that the ‘slayer’ of the economy is now out to stop the country’s march towards economic recovery. talking to the media on monday, the interior minister cautioned whoever crossed the boundaries of decency, the law would teach him how to remain within the limits of civilization. He said that there were evilness and wickedness about the personality and in the language of imran Khan, believing that he could not remain peaceful. “We will not let them bring the groups of goons and indulge in riots. if imran niazi tries to become the gravedigger of democracy, then the law will deal with him,” Rana sana warned. Lashing out at the pti chief and former prime minister, the interior minister dubbed him a liar. He said that in 2014, the pti was indulged in 126 cases of public disorder. they attacked the parliament and other government buildings, he added.

Imran Khan seeks Donald Lu’s sacking for his ‘sheer arrogance, bad manners’ ISLAMABAD Staff RepoRt

pti chairman imran Khan on monday called for sacking the Us Assistant secretary of state for central and south Asia donald Lu for “sheer arrogance and bad manners”. Lu is the central figure in imran’s claims about a Us-backed regime change conspiracy that toppled his government through a no-confidence motion. the pti chairman accuses Lu of threatening pakistan’s former ambassador to the Us, Asad majeed, that a failure to remove imran through a no-confidence vote would herald “consequences” for pakistan and vice versa. imran also alleges that the threat was made even before the no-confidence motion was tabled and it subsequently started a chain of events that resulted in his ouster as local abettors and conspirators joined with the claimed conspiracy. the pti chairman repeated his claims in an exclusive interview on cnn programme connect the World and lashed out at Lu while calling for his sacking. “imagine telling the ambassador of a country of 220 million people that you get rid of your prime minister,” he added.

Questioned on why he had neglected to make his claims public earlier when he was so “specific” about their details, the pti chairman said he had placed the cypher — containing details of the meeting between Lu and pakistan’s ambassador — before his cabinet which was later presented in a meeting of the national security council (nsc). Host becky Anderson pushed back against the pti chairman and asked him if had gotten in touch with the Us president or state secretary regarding the matter. imran did not provide an answer, instead saying that the nsc meeting had decided to issue a demarche and a protest was registered to the Us in pakistan and Washington. to a question about foreign minister bilawal bhutto-Zardari’s stance on pakUs relations and whether imran believed that a good bilateral relationship was in pakistan’s interest, he responded: “i had a perfectly good relationship with the trump administration. it’s only when the biden administration came, it coincided with what was happening in Afghanistan and for some reason — which i still don’t know — they never got in touch with me.”
