Faisal said in a tweet, “First lady Bushra Bibi has also been tested positive for covid-19.” the development comes two days after the prime minister, 68, received a covid-19 jab with the sinopharm vaccine. earlier in the day, health experts had said that it is likely khan was infected prior to being vaccinated. the centers for Disease control and prevention (cDc), national health agency of the United states, says the vaccine does not infect patients with the disease, but those who may have contracted the virus before they are vaccinated can become ill after a shot because it takes a few weeks for

gujjarpura police station when her vehicle ran out of fuel. she phoned the police for help, but before they arrived, two men took her and her children out of the vehicle at gunpoint and raped her in front of her children. they also stole her purse, which contained rs100,000 in cash, a bracelet, the car registration papers, and three atm cards. the attack quickly drew widespread condemnation on social media, with some activists demanding that those involved be hanged in public. But in a shocking televised statement, then-lahore police chief Umar sheikh blamed the victim for what ‘he felt’ were “mistakes made by the victim that led to her rape”, such she should have taken a different, busier, highway — not travelled at night — and made sure her vehicle had enough fuel. the comment drew nationwide condemnation while the prime minister did not condemn the official’s statement. hashtags calling for justice for the victims have been shared widely on social media by ordinary people, opposition politicians and high-profile athletes.

pakistan muslim league-nawaz (pml-n) supremo nawaz sharif has refused to attend pakistan people’s party (ppp) co-chairman asif ali Zardari’s call after a heated meeting of the pakistan Democratic movement (pmD), according to the sources privy to the development. Zardari made a telephone call to nawaz after the pDm meeting to discuss the future strategy, but the latter reportedly refused to answer the call de-

spite being at home. Former finance minister ishaq Dar attended the call and told the ppp leader that nawaz is angry and he is not willing to talk to him. During the telephonic contact, Zardari raised reservations over the nomination of azam nazeer tarar as opposition leader in the senate as he was the lawyer of the alleged killers of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, sources familiar to the development said. the ppp stalwart disconnected the telephone line after

the aggressive talk by ishaq Dar. ppp chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also listened to all the conversation on the speaker. reportedly, pml-n leaders shahid khaqan abbasi and pervez rasheed have been tasked to restore contacts with the ppp and convince them for the resignations from the assemblies. earlier, Zardari had clearly told his fellow pDm leaders that his party’s lawmakers won’t resign from assemblies at any cost and demanded that nawaz should fly back to the country “for a decisive battle” with the government.
