Collective efforts needed to help underprivileged segment of society, says Samina Alvi

Samina Alvi, wife of President Dr Arif Alvi said on Sunday that it was a collective responsibility to carry out welfare-oriented work for underprivileged segment of the society.

Addressing the annual event of Soliton Group here, she said that there was a need to change the approach of just depending on the government.

She said that no doubt, a lot of work on voluntarily basis was ongoing in the country to support deserving people.

Samina Alvi said that there was a need to do work for women empowerment, adding that focus should be on imparting skill education.

She further emphasized on promoting the concept of inclusion for differently abled per- sons as this would yield positive results in the society. Efforts were also being made to create maximum awareness on breast cancer and its early diagnosis.

The First Lady said, “There is a recovery rate of 98 to 99 percent if breast cancer is diagnosed at early stage.” She appreciated the Soliton Group for its initiatives aimed at wellbeing of deserving people.

Soliton Group Chairman Mansoor Khan briefed about the working of group.He said it was very important to stop brain drain from the country, adding that all energies should be utilized to boost country’s export.

Soliton CEO Fauzia Khan also spoke on the occasion.Later, a shield was presented to the first lady by Soliton Chairman. Samina Alvi also interacted with beneficiaries of Soliton Foundation.

Greek medicine living and dynamic science

LARKANA Staff RePoRt President, Hamdard Foundation, Sadia Rashid said that Greek medicine is a living and dynamic science and art, which has been proving its importance for centuries. Pakistan is a self-sufficient country in terms of Greek medicine. May God not repeat the mistake of adopting the alternative treatment method of the neighboring country and sending herbs with which our Sindh province is rich.

She was speaking at a seminar held at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library on Greek Medicine, Background and Prospectus here on Sunday.held under the auspices of Pakistan Eastern.

She said that at that time, the people of the country need to evaluate this serious situation and to avoid expensive treatment, the competent officials of the Ministry of Health should be assured to take real decisions so that expensive treatment can be avoided. Otherwise, we will be in need in this sector like other sectors.

Prof. Dr. Azhar Ali Shah, Pro Vice Chancellor of Sindh University Campus, said that Greek medicine started in Sindh province, Eastern medicine is our great heritage, which our ancestors have given us in the form of civilization. He said Dr. Hakeem Muhammad Saeed gave this earth, enlightening the society with knowledge and awareness is not only a national service but also a religious duty which is needed by our society. nation or a good human being. We are divided into different factions, and we have lost the identity as a Pakistani nation. How pitiful is that Aqeel Karim Dadi, Zafar Abbas, Farrukh Amin, and others are doing the work that is supposed to be done by the state.

He suggested that a medical institution should be established in Larkana in the name of Shaheed Hakeem Muhammad Saeed. Professor Dr. Hakeem Abdul Hanan said that Greek medicine has been a proven and easy treatment method for centuries, but like other sciences, keeping in mind the modern era, research in Greek medicine is limited and students should be introduced to the innovations of medicine. He said post-corona, the world is focusing on alternative therapies. It is estimated that the worldwide Greek medicine industry will reach 200 billion dollars in the next few years, but only a few countries are benefiting from the growth of this industry.

He said that due to founder Hamdardard Foundation Shaheed Hakeem Muhammad Saeed, Pakistan is included in the list of few countries which are according to international standards and are beneficial, Pakistan is in a position to emerge as a global leader in Greek medicine, but it requires joint efforts, so symposia are being organized to create awareness among the public as to the progress of Pakistan in Greek medicine so that Pakistan can be made a developing country in Greek medicine.

Provincial Minister of Sindh, Nasir Hussain Shah, said that it is a big project indeed and we are all on the same page to work together for this divine cause. Such thought and courage come from Allah who paves the way to accomplish the task.

Speaking on this auspicious occasion, Chief Executive Officer Unity Foods, Farrukh Amin said that our vision and commitment is to eradicate malnutrition and food insecurity in Pakistan. One of the important steps to achieving food security is to provide food items, which is physically and economically accessible to the public.

NH&MP a role model for other institutions: IG

ISLaMaBaD: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) can be compared with any other police force on the basis of its performance. Motorway Police is considered as the role model institution of Pakistan and is regarded as the crown of all police forces. The NH&MP has won hearts of the people by offering a culture of helping people during difficulties faced by them in travelling. Hardly any other police force can be matched with Motorway Police. It is a matter of pride for me to be the head of an organization like the Motorway Police. These views were expressed by Inspector General National Highways and Motorway Police, Khalid Mahmood while addressing the officers at an Ijlas-eAam at Training College Sheikhupura. Regional Commander DIG Shahid Javed, Commandant Training College Syed Hashmat Kamal, Zonal Commander Motorway Cental 1 Ahmad Nasir Aziz, Zonal Commander N5 Cental Muhammad Nadeem and Deputy Commandant Atif Shezad were also present on the occasion. Power suspension schedule for today
