Inflation jumps to 27.55pc, highest in almost 48 years

the countr y has hit the h ghest 27 55 percent in the past almost 48 years accord ng to data released by pakistan Bureau of stat stics (pBs) on wednesday, the annua inflation n Januar y 2023 measured by the consumer pr ce index (cpi) has jumped to a decades-high level of 27 6 pc compared to 24 5pc n previous month and 13pc in Januar y 2022 the cpi index of 27 55 percent according to data is the highest one after may 1975 when t reg stered 27 77 pc the inflat on has spiked to the highest evel of 48 years at a t me when thousands of conta ners of food items, raw materials and equipment are
