Tarar on Friday said that the government was determined to take all possible measures to protect the rights of domestic workers and consultation in this regard would help in comprehensive legislation He expressed these views while addressing a consultative conference regarding the drafting of the ICT Domestic Workers Act 2022 He said that there were millions of domestic workers but there was no legal protection for their rights It was an industry and it was a weak section that provides services for other sections of society, he said The minister said that the services of domestic workers were admirable and they need attention He said that all the participants should give their effective suggestions in this regard which would be made part of the legislation He further said that the purpose of sitting for discussion was to talk openly and create consensus Instead of artificial legislation such legislation should be made which was in the interest of this section, he added On this occasion, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar presented written suggestions for drafting the ICT Workers Act 2022 Earlier, Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Mehnaz Akbar Aziz gave the opening remarks and explained the aims and objectives of the consultative conference

According to CTD the terror suspects arrested from Rawalpindi and Gujranwala were identified as: Kitab Khan, Irshadul Haq and Muhammad Arshad Siddiquie

The CTD sources informed that a huge quantity of explosive material and weapons were also recovered from the suspects They said the CTD carried out a number of combing operations in several cities of Punjab including Lahore after receiving information about suspected persons

During the last one week, 23,381 people were screened with the help of modern technology during 471 combing operations across Punjab, the CTD official informed They added as many as 75 FIRs were registered arrest of 95 suspects from different districts including Lahore

According to ISPR the military s media wing the IBO operation was conducted in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan As the security forces moved forward towards the suspects hideout they resorted to firing ensuing to an intense fire exchange between the troops and terrorists After killing the suspect, the forces also recovered weapons and ammunition

The ISPR noted that the suspect remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens

It is pertinent to mention here that the country’s law and order situation has worsened over the past few months, with groups like the outlawed Tehreek-eTaliban Pakistan carrying out attacks on law enforcement agencies (LEAs) across the country

Earlier in January, ISPR stated that at least 11 terrorists, including a local commander, were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)
