MODERN SCANDINAVIAN HIGH-QUALITY LOG HOUSES
Modern Scandinavian design meets Finnish log building heritage – this perhaps best encapsulates the offerings of Ollikainen’s log homes and houses. Founded in 1974 by Kari Ollikainen in Ruovesi, Finland, this family business has transitioned into the capable hands of the second generation, with Tero and Tomi Ollikainen now at the helm, continuing their father’s visionary life’s work. Over the course of three decades, Ollikainen has changed from a small local house factory to one of the best manufacturers of log houses in Finland. And we dare to claim that the quality of our houses and services also holds up in international competition Our approach to log home construction combines the best traits of ancient traditions with the latest technology. The result is a modern, Scandinavian design that retains the heart and soul of log building. Living in log structures is more than just a shelter from rain and wind. It’s an experience that resonates deep within – a love for nature, a reverence for tradition, and a longing for a healthy and harmonious living environment. Ollikainen understands this profound connection between humans and log buildings. Their designs spring from the deep-seated desire for harmony between humanity and nature, and this is reflected in every project, be it set against an urban or rural backdrop. Ollikainen’s commitment to quality standards is undeniable. The company has been granted a European Technical Assessment (ETA 13/1064) and the right to use the CE marking – evidence that their buildings are not only beautiful and functional but also safe and durable. With Ollikainen, you can trust that you’re getting not just a magnificent log home but also a unique service experience. Welcome to experience the art and tradition of log construction – the Ollikainen way.

NUMBER 1 IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
The quality is not only evident in our craftsmanship but also highly valued by customers. When you desire a one-of-a-kind log house with dependable service from the manufacturer, choose Ollikainen. Quality remains a priority for us and to our customers. Construction research company Rakennustutkimus RTS Oy in Finland annually surveys the opinions of customers from Finland’s largest log home manufacturers about their chosen supplier. According to the RTS survey, customers are extremely satisfied with Ollikainen as a manufacturer. During the research period from 2019 to 2021, we ranked number one in the categories “Satisfaction with house seller/representative”, “Satisfaction with cabin manufacturer” and “Would I buy again”.
LOG IS NATURALLY ELEGANT AND HEALTHY
People living in log homes are happy. Residents appreciate the character, ease of use, and healthy indoor air provided by log as a building material. In several studies, the overall health of people living in log homes was better compared to those living in, for example, stone houses. Log is also a very allergy-friendly building material, ensuring a healthy growing environment for the youngest family members as well. Due to its breathability, a log building balances indoor air humidity and provides residents with excellent indoor air quality. Thanks to the natural insulating properties of wood, log home rooms are warm in winter and comfortably cool in summer. A finished log home is also inherently stylish and extremely durable.
100% RENEWABLE
ECOLOGICAL LOG
The logs we use come from sustainably managed Finnish forests following the sustainable development model. Log is a completely natural building material. When the wall log thickness is suitable, it does not require synthetically produced additional insulation like a conventional wooden house. Due to its plastic-free structure, log is the most ecological of the available building materials.
The manufacturing process of a log home consumes significantly less fossil fuels compared to other building materials. The CO2 value stored in a log house itself is multiple times higher than the carbon dioxide emissions caused by its construction. Log is also extremely energy-efficient to use: it stores heat and releases it back, keeping heating costs under control.
RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION
FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION
Our state-of-the-art production line efficiently optimizes the use of raw materials, minimizing unnecessary waste generation. We care about environmental well-being and continually strive to develop even more ecological solutions for our operations.
To ensure the best possible quality and durability for our buildings, we use only carefully selected Finnish wood. The structure and profile of the logs we manufacture is the result of extensive product development and decades of experience. The wall structure of our log homes is more airtight and energyefficient compared to several competing alternatives. A genuine Ollikainen log home lasts from generation to generation.

FINNISH TIMBER THE PERFECT CHOICE FOR LOG HOMES
We only use top-quality building materials in our houses, and Finnish timber fits the bill perfectly. Finland, a part of Scandinavia, is home to pristine forests where pine and spruce grow slowly due to the region’s harsh weather conditions. With a growth period of just three months per year, these trees develop strength and durability over time. Subjected to nearly a century of frost, rain, and storms, Scandinavian and Finnish timber becomes an incredibly resilient, safe, and healthy construction material for wooden homes. This makes it the perfect choice for premium log homes. Some of the oldest log buildings in Finland are over 500 years old.
ECO-FRIENDLY BUILDING MATERIAL Wood is a 100% natural product, making it the most eco-friendly and sustainable construction material available. Using wood significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions, consumes fewer fossil fuels during production, and allows for waste to be recycled into energy production. The number of trees in Finnish forests continues to grow annually, with new growth consistently outpacing the rate of logging. Did you know that Finland is the most forested country in Europe, with forests covering 75% of its land area!
THE CALMING EFFECT OF WOODEN ENVIRONMENTS Considering that we spend approximately 90% of our time indoors, indoor air quality is of utmost importance. Wood naturally regulates humidity by absorbing and releasing moisture, maintaining a comfortable indoor environment year-round. A wooden home offers a breathable, healthy space that fosters well-being. Wood’s antiseptic properties also help prevent allergies and asthma. Wood’s natural ability to absorb sound creates a calming and relaxing atmosphere. Studies have shown that being in a wooden environment can lower blood pressure and heart rate, promoting relaxation and stress reduction. The experience is akin to taking a walk in the woods. In Finland, many public buildings like schools, kindergartens, and health centers are constructed from solid wood (logs) due to its positive health effects.
A TOUCH OF NATURE ALWAYS WITH YOU Whether you reside in a bustling city center or tranquil countryside, living in a wooden house connects you with nature wherever you are. Finnish timber is the ultimate building material for healthy living spaces.
