OCEªN VILLA
Interior view of the living room overlooking the ocean
This is a case studio of a wide loft overlooking the sea in a summer afternoon.
Most of the furniture in the living room and in the exterior patio is a memento of the work of Rodolfo Dordoni, a rationalist italian architect with a multifaceted personality who recently passed away.
The bright and balanced colors of the upholstery and the furniture outstand in the concrete grey wall room and recall the vivid atmosphere of a lushious seaside.

Bathrooms in a flat in Isola, Milan
Two bathrooms have been designed for this big flat for a young couple in Isola, one of the renewing and glamourous neighbourhoods of Milan.
The first bathroom has two windows overlooking the inner courtyard so it has been interesting to focus on the brightness of the room; warm colours come out from the resin walls and the patchwork scheme of Unica by Target tiles. The bathroom sanitaryware includes a countertop washbasin, a WC and a bidet of Bonola Series by Flaminia, in white matte finish. The furniture_ 360gradi by Altamareabath_ and the parquet floor are made of the same oak wood, which grain enhances the sense of naturalness of the room.
The brushed steel faucets_Volante by Neve Rubinetterie_ are marked by the shiny red porcelain handles that can become also hooks and towel holders.
In the following pages, the second bathroom is the complete opposite of the first: no natural light comes from the outside. In this case the light-dark contrast plays an important role. The bumpy pattern of the graphite tiny mosaic _ MosaicoMicro 6 by NeroSicilia_ is enhanced by the strip led lights coming from the slits of the ceiling, providing a soft and diffuse lighting.
The basalt matte sanitaryware _Enjoy fixtures and Catino Tondo lavabo by Cielo_ are completed by the brunite faucets of Volare series by Neve Rubinetterie, which porcelain rusty ironlike handles are also used as hooks and towel holders. The graphite floor mosaic tiles and the dark forest green resin walls give a deep sense of elegance and intimacy.

villa DE PAsCALIs
Bathrooms in a villa in Piedmont

Two bathrooms have been designed for this Villa in Piedmont. The first one is a guest bathroom and has tiny dimensions; the walls are covered by a grey rusty paint-like paperwall, while the shower walls and the washbasin are in Rosa di Pesco Carnico stone, a precious light grey marble with pink and orange veins. The orange-pink color is enhanced by the brushed copper faucets _Lino by Neve Rubinetterie_ along with the accessories on the same finish and the grey-blue furniture (Opera by Altamareabath).

The second bathroom is the master one, where the focus is on the large red furniture _Must by Altamareabath_ with two different blonde Onix washbasins, one on a pillar and the second built-in. The round shapes on the wall have brushed bronze frames and Onix marble for the lamps.
The bronze faucets and accessories, along with the blonde oak parquet and the rusty paint paperwall give to the room a sense of elegance and sweet melancholy.

Lisbon New Harbour
Santos-o-Velho _ Lisbon:
The project is about the renovation of the old Lisbon Harbor. The old dry docks that define the area are completed by a volume in the middle of the two larger voids that will be a hotel, while in one of the docks there will be an auditorium. The rest of the harbour has various sporting and leisure areas. The linear cycle path connect the different areas of the harbour _marked by an irregular line_ with the ancient urban front of the city of Lisbon.

Design beyOnd crisis
New opportunities from crisis situations

Bam_Iran:
This thesis project is about a strategy of intervention in a context damaged by an earthquake, starting from the emergency situation and trying to give solutions of reconstruction using sustainable and affordable techniques.
As Hassan Fathy teached, the architect should involve the community and its singular individuals into the project, promoting the autoconstruction. In Bam, the millenary culture of the construction with earth is slowly disappearing, leaving its place to new imported constructive solutions that aren’t always fitted with the context nor realized in a sound way.
The high costs of material importations like the reinforced concrete and steel, put serious questions.
The utilization of local materials make these solutions absolutely proper for local constructions; in fact they are respectful of geografic and cultural context and are easily understandable by the local people, if they have the possibility to prove it.
