CLICK HERE TO REQUEST A PICK UP We’re taking the reins back this year: Pine Needle Pick-Up Guidelines Pick-ups are scheduled on a weekly cycle WITH THE 1ST pick up schedule to start MAY 6th: Any requests submitted by 5:00 PM on Monday will be included in that week’s route, beginning Wednesday. Requests submitted Tuesday through the following Monday will be scheduled for the next week’s pick-up. Important Reminders: Plastic bags will not be collected. Only recyclable paper bags—available locally at Ace—will be accepted. Each property is allotted 20 bags per year at no cost. After the initial 20 bags, additional pick-ups will still be scheduled at a rate of $4.25 per bag. Sustainability Effort: We’re proud to share that collected pine needles will not be sent to the landfill. Instead, they will be repurposed locally for composting and soil production, supporting area farms and sustainable practices.

Thanks to a matching grant from Game Time, the Rec Center is getting a brand-new play structure for kids ages 5–12 — a project championed by our Youth Committee, built to complement our current play area. Construction begins Fall 2026.

Greenbelt Storage Rules & Community Reminder The Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association (PLPOA) reminds property owners and residents that community greenbelts are intended to remain open, safe, and accessible. Greenbelts are not extensions of individual residential lots and may not be used for private storage without prior written authorization from PLPOA. ITEMS THAT SHOULD NOT BE PLACED OR STORED IN A GREENBELT Trailers & Vehicles Trailers,boats,recreational vehicles, and motorized equipment
Building & Yard Materials Buildingmaterials,lumber,landscaping supplies, and firewood
Trash & Household Items Trashcontainers,discardedmaterials, and household belongings
Furniture & Structures Furniture,playequipment, portable structures, and storage sheds
Vehicles, Machinery & Tools Vehicles,machinery,tools,andother personal property
Yard & Construction Waste Yardwaste, branches,grassclippings, and construction debris
Unauthorized storage can obstruct drainage, interfere with maintenance and emergency access, damage vegetation, create wildfire or safety hazards, and negatively affect neighboring properties. Personal items may not be used to reserve, fence off, or claim any portion of a greenbelt for private use.
OWNER RESPONSIBILITY
IF YOU CURRENTLY STORE ITEMS
Property owners are responsible for ensuring that their belongings, landscaping, improvements, and activities remain within their property boundaries.
Owners and residents who currently have personal property in a greenbelt are respectfully asked to remove it promptly and restore the affected area when necessary.
Before placing an item near a greenbelt, owners should verify the property line and obtain any required PLPOA Environmental Control Committee approval or other applicable permits.
Items that remain may result in a compliance notice and further action under the applicable PLPOA governing documents and enforcement procedures.
Thank you for helping preserve PLPOA greenbelts as safe, attractive, and environmentally responsible community assets. Our goal is to achieve compliance through engagement, education, and cooperation.
