WATER RESTRICTIONS

No significant changes in the drought situation. Hatcher is still full; the river is flowing below the median but holding. The District will remain in Drought *Stage 1, which limits watering between 6 PM and 9am with rate multipliers for residential users, using more than 5,000 gallons.

All District customers are limited to the watering schedule, including commercial users and raw water users.

Tips to avoid problems with Bears and other Wildlife:

Hang bird seed, suet and hummingbird feeders on a wire between trees instead of on your deck or porch. Bring all bird feeders in at night or refrain from having them out this time of year.

Make your property safe by keeping garbage out of reach and smell of bears, skunks and other animals. Use bear-proof trash containers. Be sure garbage cans are emptied regularly. Periodically clean garbage cans to reduce residual odor - using hot water and chlorine bleach. Use a small amount of ammonia or cayenne pepper in the garbage to discourage scavenging. Store trash in a bear proof enclosure.

If you have no way of keeping your garbage indoors: freeze your stinky food garbage and put it into your garbage can the morning of trash pick-up. When putting your garbage out by the road, keep lids closed tightly. Birds also like to spread garbage around and will tear open holes in plastic bags to get to what is inside.

If you have pets, do not store their food or feed them outside. Do not put fruit, melon rinds and other tasty items in mulch or compost piles. Clean outdoor BBQs thoroughly after each use and store inside if possible. Most bears sighted in residential areas within bear habitat do not cause any damage. If a bear doesn't find abundant food, it will move on.

FERRI ZMTE SERIES OF SLOPE MOWERS ARE DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM REACH TO THE RIGHT OF THE TRACTOR CENTER LINE. THE MOWER GEARBOX IS MOUNTED OUTSIDE THE TRANSMISSION WHICH ALLOWS FOR SEVERAL MORE INCHES OF REACH.

ZMTE MOWERS REQUIRE MOUNTING ON A CATEGORY 2 THREE POINT HITCH.

OVERALL TRACTOR WEIGHT IS CRITICAL TO MAINTAINING STABILITY WHEN USING THIS MACHINE IN A FULL OFFSET POSITION. TRACTORS SHOULD BE FITTED WITH TWO SETS OF REMOTES TO POWER THE TWO CYLINDERS ON THE UNIT ONE CYLINDER CONTROLS IN AND OUT FUNCTIONS, AND THE OTHER CYLINDER CONTROLS THE SLOPE ANGLE OF THE FLAIL HEAD.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THE FERRI SLOPE MOWER IS THAT IT CAN MOW DIRECTLY BEHIND THE TRACTOR, OR OFFSET TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE TRACTOR. WITH THE MOWER IN AN OFFSET POSITION, THE FLAIL HEAD CAN ANGLE DOWN THE SLOPE, OR UP THE SLOPE DEPENDING ON THE CONTOUR OF THE TERRAIN. THIS FEATURE MAKES THIS MACHINE INCREDIBLY VERSATILE, AND WELL SUITED TO ROADSIDE MAINTENANCE.

BECAUSE THE CUTTING HEAD IS A FLAIL MOWER DESIGN, THESE MACHINES ARE VERY SAFE TO USE IN ROADSIDE APPLICATIONS. THESE MACHINES ARE TYPICALLY FITTED WITH LONG WEARING HAMMER BLADES, SO THEY HAVE THE ABILITY TO HANDLE BRUSH AS WELL AS HEAVY GRASS. THE MACHINES ARE EASY TO MOUNT ON A TRACTOR THREE-POINT HITCH, AND EASY TO REMOVE, FREEING THE TRACTOR UP FOR OTHER DUTIES.
