Ihave been cast off when making their much more sophisticated breakfast companions, but instead, a baker realized they were the perfect item for those not wanting to eat a whole donut (that would be unhealthy... insert giggle here), but would happily eat a donut hole or two or three or possibly more. I think about these goodies often and on occasion will run into the local donut shop and walk out with my pint of milk along with six nuggets of gold in my wax paper sack. I am so excited as I open the bag and before I realize it, the donut holes that I was planning to savor all day, are gone.

There are little sticky sugar flakes all over the front of my clothes and I’m guzzling the milk to stave off the inevitable heartburn that will follow as this food I love so much is rejected by my body as being not compatible with my stomach’s abilities.

But do I learn from this episode?

Alas, I do not.
