* All students in grade 9 will be enrolled in High School Essentials.
* The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School requires all students to complete Career Forward 11 in order to be eligible for graduation.
* Beginning with the graduating class of 2023, statewide graduation requirements provide pathways for high school students to demonstrate readiness for postsecondary success as outlined in Act 6 and Act 158.
The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School encourages parents to monitor their child’s progress toward meeting graduation requirements. Parents play a vital role in ensuring that their child has earned the required number of credits by their senior year. Typically, a student begins to accumulate credits as a freshman.
Graduation Pathways
In accordance with Pennsylvania’s Act 158 of 2018, effective with the graduating class of 2023, students must meet statewide graduation requirements through the designated graduation pathways.
PATHWAY 1: Keystone Proficiency Pathway
Score Proficient or Advanced (minimum scaled score of 1500 or better) on each Keystone Exam, including Algebra I, Literature, and Biology.
PATHWAY
A student who earned a non-numeric Proficient per Act 136 and later participated in the associated Keystone Exam may not use the numeric score to calculate the 2-Score Keystone Composite.
PATHWAY 3: Career & Technical Education Pathway
Successful completion of PA Cyber’s courses associated with the Keystone Exams, including Algebra I, English 10, and Biology, and meet one of the following:
• Attainment of an Industry-Based Competency Certification related to the CTE Concentrator’s program of study OR
• Demonstration of high likelihood of success on approved industry-based competency assessment OR
• Demonstration of readiness of continued meaningful engagement in a CTE Concentrator Program of Study
* PA Cyber does not offer this option for students but will accept demonstrated completion from a previous school district with necessary and appropriate records.
PATHWAY 4: Alternative Assessment Pathway
Successful completion of PA Cyber’s courses associated with the Keystone Exams, including Algebra I, English 10, and Biology, and meet one of the following:
• Attainment of established score on an approved alternative assessment:
• ACT: Score of 21 or higher
• ACT WorkKeys NCRC: Gold Level
• ASVAB AFQT: Composite Score of 31 or higher
• PSAT/NMSQT: Score of 970 or higher
• SAT: Score of 1010 or higher
• Attainment of established score of 3 or higher on an approved Advanced Placement (AP) Exam for each Keystone Exam content area in which the student achieved less than Proficient.
• Attainment of established score of 4 or higher on an approved International Baccalaureate (IB) Program Exam for each Keystone Exam content area in which the student achieved less than Proficient.
• Successful completion of a concurrent enrollment course for each Keystone Exam content area in which the student achieved less than Proficient.
• Demonstrate acceptance in an accredited 4-year non-profit institution of higher education and evidence of ability to enroll in college-level coursework.
• Successful completion of an approved Pre-Apprenticeship Program.
* PA Cyber does not offer all the above options for students but will accept demonstrated completion from a previous school district with necessary and appropriate records. Additional information about which options PA Cyber offers under Pathway 4 can be discussed with your Academic Advisor.
PATHWAY 5: Evidence-Based Pathway
Successful completion of PA Cyber’s courses associated with the Keystone Exams, including Algebra I, English 10, and Biology, and provide three pieces of evidence:
Section 1 Evidence:
• Attainment of established score on an approved alternative assessment:
• SAT: Score of 630 or higher on any Subject Test
• ACT WorkKeys NCRC: Silver Level
• Attainment of established score of 3 or higher on any Advanced Placement (AP) Exam.
• Attainment of established score of 3 or higher on any International Baccalaureate (IB) Program Exam.
• Successful completion of any concurrent enrollment course.
• Demonstrate acceptance in an other-than 4-year non-profit institution of higher education and evidence of ability to enroll in college-level coursework.
• Attainment of an Industry-Recognized Credential from an approved provider.
Section 2 Evidence:
• Score Proficient or Advanced on any Keystone Exam.
• Successful completion of an approved service-learning project.
• Successful completion on an approved internship, externship, or cooperative program.
• Meet NCAA Division II academic requirements for college-bound athletes.
• Letter guaranteeing full-time employment or military enlistment.
* At least one piece of evidence must come from Section 1.
* Total of three pieces of evidence must be provided in Section 1 and Section 2 combined.

Tips
• Attend each virtual, blended, or asynchronous class every day.
• Participate in class activities and discussions.
• Complete all required reading, assignments, and homework each day.
• Share the work that you complete each day with your parent or guardian.
• Keep close contact with your teachers and Academic Advisor.
• Follow the proper pacing for each of your courses.
• Attend all Keystone testing as required.
• Get involved with PA Cyber clubs and other activities.
