Honoring Queen Lili‘uokalani’s Legacy to Strengthen Communities

In naming orphans and destitute children the primary beneficiaries of her estate, Queen Lili‘uokalani established a legacy of care and compassion that continues to inspire today. She believed in the importance of education as transformative and established a trust to ensure her estate benefitted children and families of Hawai‘i.

PACT shares in the Queen’s unwavering commitment, so when the Lili‘uokalani Trust decided to sell its Halona Street property, members of the Trust formed a well-thought-out plan to lease and eventually transfer ownership of the estate to PACT over the next five years.

To honor the Queen’s place of refuge, protection and rehabilitation, PACT established the name, Kalaulanilawapuni, to represent the historic land and shared belief in serving all people of Hawai‘i. The estate will combine multiple programs that offer supportive opportunities to struggling residents, children, and families, while promoting collaboration with clients and partner agencies to chart a path towards greater community directed well-being.
