Leading the Circular Economy
1
We view local waste as a resource and our world leading recycling solutions unlock this value and consistently deliver high quality material to our customers at scale.
2
Locally sourced and verified recycled material is what consumers and brand owners are demanding. To deliver this at scale, we have invested and continue to invest in world leading, sorting, washing and processing technologies to produce the highest quality, locally sourced recycled resins. Advanced polymer science and technical innovation allows us to lead the way in food safe recycling solutions. Pact recycles post-consumer and post-industrial Polyethylene terephathale (PET) products such as water and soft drink bottles, bakery trays and protein trays into high quality recycled food-grade resin. This is then remanufactured into water and soft drink bottles, fresh food punnets, bakery, confectionary and protein trays. Pact Packaging Wellington (formerly Flight Plastics) is the first plant in New Zealand to take PET bottles and containers collected at kerbside around New Zealand and turn them into new food packaging, because our rPET is sourced from New Zealand’s post-consumer waste stream, it closes the loop for recycling of PET packaging in NZ.
Every PET bottle or container recycled at Pact is given new life, saving the import of materials and reducing waste to landfill.

Reusing our precious resources through stewardship programmes and industry collaboration Stewardship programmes are an essential part of a successful local circular economy. Pact Group are collaborators in many industry programmes, helping this to become a reality through investment in recycling technologies, development of recycled content products, and demand creation to enable re-use of our precious plastic resources. Collaboration of industry, local and central government is a key to any circular economy success.
