GUIDE TO Philanthropy

Our

School was Built on Generosity

A group of visionary San Diego families founded Pacific Ridge School (PRS) in 2007 to create an exemplary school in North County.

PRS offers distinctive programs like Harkness teaching, civic engagement, global travel, and service learning.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donations are critical to serving our mission.

Please join our tradition of philanthropy.

BE ALL IN

for the Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is Pacific Ridge School’s top philanthropic priority, directly supporting every student, every day. We ask every family to participate meaningfully.

To keep tuition accessible, we rely on the Annual Fund to avoid deficits and provide excellence. High parent participation also helps secure outside funding.

Your gift or pledge made this fall — payable by June 30 — helps bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of a Pacific Ridge education.

Our family’s deep commitment to Pacific Ridge School’s Annual Fund stems from a profound belief in its mission. Witnessing our children thrive within such a nurturing and enriching environment has solidified our conviction that we are investing and empowering them to become responsible, engaged citizens.”

“Laura and I believe deeply in the power of education to change lives. Supporting the Opportunity Scholarship program is our way of ensuring more students can benefit from the kind of transformative experience our own children have had at Pacific Ridge.”

Endowment

Gifts to endowment provide critical funding for our school’s long-term financial sustainability, protecting against rising costs and providing a future source of reliable income for the school.

As proud parents of two PRS grads, Richard and I have supported three major capital campaigns. We continue to support the Endowment to help future Firebirds have the same amazing experience our kids did!”

— Carrie & Richard Shen, Brandon ‘22 and Christopher ‘25

Capital Giving

The Pacific Ridge School community has raised nearly $100 million through capital giving.

Our vibrant campus reflects the impact of capital campaigns — targeted fundraising that typically involve larger one-time gifts or multi-year pledges to support major projects such as new buildings and renovations.

The Board of Trustees has identified new opportunities to align our physical spaces with the programmatic excellence for which Pacific Ridge is known. We look forward to sharing more as plans take shape.
