Since the start of the Israeli genocide on Gaza and all of Palestine, and more recently, through the ceasefire agreement, our community has been working tirelessly to advocate for the Palestinian cause. This toolkit is designed to address and respond to the ongoing events as of the date listed below. This is a living document that will continue to be updated and expanded upon. We would like to thank every individual and organization that contributed and allowed us to include their invaluable work in this guide. If you have a resource you recommend we include, please emai info@paccusa.org.

According to the UN, up to 1.9 million people, or 90% of the population, in Gaza have been internally displaced, some up to 10 times or more. Since the start of the ceasefire, Palestinians in Gaza are trying to return to their homes, most of which have been either severely damaged or destroyed. Since October 7th, Israel has killed at least 61,709 Palestinians including 17,492 children, injured more than 111,588 Palestinians with over 14,222 still missing. In the West Bank, the latest figures have seen at least 905 killed, including at least 181 children, and over 7,370 injuries (Israel-Gaza war in maps and charts: Live tracker | Israel-Palestine conflict News | Al Jazeera). Since the start of the genocide, the Israeli military has issued more than 65 evacuation orders, leaving 80% of the Gaza Strip under active evacuation orders and at least 217 journalists and media workers have been killed (Committee to Protect Journalists).
The Israeli government continues to target vital infrastructure in Gaza:
Almost all of Gaza’s homes have been damaged or destroyed
80% of commercial facilities targeted
88% of school buildings targeted
50% of hospitals are only partially functional
68% of road networks damaged
68% of cropland damaged
Israel is purposely destroying dwellings in Gaza to make the territory uninhabitable. Many patients that are being treated in the health facilities include newborns in incubators; women with complications of pregnancy, and others all face imminent deterioration of their condition or death (WHO). Right now, Israel has halted the entry of all humanitarian aid in Gaza, going against the negotiated January ceasefire agreement. Humanitarian organizations have expressed the need for a ceasefire continuation so that they are able to provide much-needed aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which has been devastated by the 17-month genocide (Israel cuts off aid to Gaza as it seeks to change ceasefire deal with Hamas).
As of March 18, 2025, Israel has broken the Ceasefire deal by committing a massacre that has resulted in the death of over 404 Palestinians and 562 injured Palestinians.

1. Palestinians, living under the oppressive occupation by Israel since 1948, deserve protection from both the occupying power and extremist settlers. Ensuring the safety and security of the 2.2 million people who live in Palestine is of paramount importance.
2. The continued occupation of Palestine has laid the foundation for the persistent violence and suffering endured by the Palestinian people. There can be no justification for war in a situation where one party is an occupier and the other is occupied.
3. The responsibility for the escalating violence lies with Israel and its right-wing extremist government, whose actions and policies have exacerbated the situation. The occupation and the subsequent violence are direct outcomes of these policies.
4. Palestinians under occupation have the inherent right to resist the oppressive forces by all legitimate means available to them, as recognized by international humanitarian law and human rights principles.
5. We demand an end to U.S. military funding to Israel.
Captions for Social Media:
6. Sustainable peace in the Middle East can only be achieved by ending the prolonged occupation and addressing the legitimate rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people.
7. The United Nations and major humanitarian organizations like Doctors Without Borders are demanding that life-saving supplies- including fuel, food and water – be allowed into Gaza and Israel is denying it.
8. “May humanitarian rights be respected, above all in Gaza, where it is urgent and necessary to guarantee humanitarian corridors to help the entire population” - Pope Francis
9. “The most recent violence does not come in a vacuum, but grows out of a long-standing conflict, with a 56-year long occupation and no political end in sight.”- UN Secretary-General António Guterres
10. Israel must be held accountable for the 20,000+ Palestinian population that have been murdered under its occupation. The international community must play a role in ensuring compliance with human rights and international law. The current retaliatory actions by Israel constitute war crimes, further exacerbating the situation and deepening the suffering of innocent Palestinians. Such actions cannot be justified under any circumstances.
Social Media Accounts to Follow:
We would like to emphasize the importance of social media activity in getting our message out. Mainstream media outlets are actively censoring Palestine and this is why every voice matters. There are currently tools and strategies being introduced to bypass Anti-Palestinian censorship such as:
Screenshotting and not sharing directly
Not using key words that they may block like Palestine
Using boosted stickers
*Please note that many active and current social media accounts are getting censored and even deleted for posting about Palestine.

How to “beat the algorithm”: Tips for the censorship on social media
What is “Shadowbanning” or censorship?
Censorship is when an app like instagram blocks you fron posting, going live, writing comments or your account gets suspended or deleted. You usually get told by the app that your “post goes against our community guidelines” - this is sometimes temporary or permanent. Pro Palestinan content has been found to be censored more on social media apps than other movements.
Shadowbanning is a form of censorship where you are not told you are being blocked by the app but supposedly blocking your engagement from your followers. Shadowbanning is still a theory not proven true.
The most important thing about app is content ranking - their objective is to push the best piece of content to the top of your feed and how they base this ranking is engagement. Likes, comments, saves, how long they watch your video or how fast they swipe your content.
How to navigate the algorithm:
Encourage your followers to engage! Ask your supporters to like, comment, share and save your content to boost your content with the algorithm. You can also encourage your audience to engage with your content by asking questions.
Post original content not re-shared things, so photos and videos directly from your camera roll. So if you want to reshare something, take screenshots of it and post those or screen recordings of videos instead of just re-sharing or tagging (especially because the accounts you are reposting have likely been reported several times by pro-Israel crowd and might be banned themselves)
Customize your reshares: Even if it is someone else’s text - add some text, summary, picture, sounds, or your own picture. These apps like it when you are customizing not just resharing.
Be consistent but don’t over post Post on your stories everyday! Being consistent is key for getting your content at the front of the line.
LIKE LIKE LIKE! Don’t just swipe past other people’s content - like, comment, and engage with it so they can also be ranked higher.
Break up your stories with pictures of other things, literally anything, the sky, coffee, etc for an ‘algo break’ as they say. Also from your own photos not the app. You can actually even post random pics as the background of your pal related stories - like your dog or cat or even a selfie. There is a theory that less “family-friendly” content could put you at risk of a shadowban.
Avoiding using key “sensitive” words or spell them different (Pal*st*ne) or break them up (ie Pal es tine) because it picks up on key words, same for hashtags, don’t use popular or generic hashtags about Palestine.
If you want to write something, after you write it in Instagram or in your Notes, screenshot it and post the screenshot instead of posting text directly on Insta (this makes it easier to pick up on key words etc). Be strategic with your words: The app is smart so when you communicate your thoughts be dilegent. Always write a caption and don’t over do hashtags - only use 3-5 hashtags because the app might think you are a bot.
Don’t update your app, apparently Enable ‘Sensitive Content’ on your Insta (if you feel comfortable doing this) which will help you see more
