DREAM | CREATE | INSPIRE

As the spring flood waters recede, the fresh green leaves emerge, and the amber sun’s rays linger longer each day on the dark-copper of Pablo Center, we are teased with the changing of the seasons; four seasons–that is something that shapes the very way of life here in Northwest Wisconsin. Each season is bathed in its own color palette. The Belgian painter Alfred Stevens captured this change in his polyptych of “Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.”

Pablo Center, like our seasons, is constantly changing in search of the best audience and artist experience. Through this constant metamorphosis we are always evolving to provide you–our guests, members, and donors–the very best experience possible. It is from that place that season six will be a season of refinement in our experience offerings. You may have already noticed that we have a new ticketing partner. We are so excited to welcome AXS ticketing into our guest experience with our sixth season. As we reach October you can also expect to have a new web experience, ensuring an easier navigation of our calendar of events, including seamless navigation into the ticket purchasing experience.

Over the last year we have grown our Pablo Center full-time team to 23 full-time positions and maintained our part-time staff of 95. These passionate staff members have defined their purpose as “We Entertain” and are eager to showcase what makes Pablo Center the best guest experience through our calendar of 300+ live events this season.

As spring changes to summer–we will be presenting the inaugural season of the much-anticipated Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival throughout the building with the mainstage productions held in Jamf Theatre, which has been transformed into a replica of London’s Globe Theatre. As the long summer days give way to autumn hues, be on the lookout for amazing show options just as students go back to school. As the fall leaves carry us on the winter winds you can expect us to provide you with even more options to come share a few hours with your neighbors as we showcase the best performances in the region. As the winter snow covers our trees, lakes, neighborhoods, and cities get ready for some of the best Broadway options in the Midwest.

In the Midwest we don’t just appreciate the changing seasons, we embrace them. On behalf of the Confluence Council Board and the entire staff of Pablo Center, we look forward to welcoming you as our guest for Season Six!

THANK YOU TO OUR SEASON SPONSORS

DON M c LEAN

Grammy Award honoree, Songwriters Hall of Fame member, and BBC Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Don McLean’s “American Pie 50th Anniversary Tour” celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic songs and albums ever, proving that “bye-bye, Miss American Pie” will forever remain a classic staple in American music.

As tragic as the backstory behind the song “American Pie” is—the much too early death of the new rock’n’roll-hope Buddy Holly—the track is also magnificent and legendary. And “American Pie” still goes to heart as soon as originator Don McLean plays this classic at his concerts. Still, it’s worth remembering that the 76-year-old composer has written and sung numerous other melodic and harmonic successes in his decades-long career with “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night),” “Castles in the Air,” “And I Love You So,” and “Cryin’,” all of which will be heard and reveled in along with newer pieces on the upcoming tour.

Accordingly, the complete discography of the legendary and still-active singer/songwriter is also significant. Among other things, Don McLean has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004 by the National Academy of Popular Music.

Help us fulfill our mission by donating to one of our initiatives

Visual Arts

Pablo Center at the Confluence is the premier place in the Chippewa Valley to engage with and view the visual arts. Donate to the “Visual Arts” funds to support exhibitions of our region’s master creators, artist leaders, teachers, high school art exhibits and the permanent collection.

Performing Arts

Donations to “Performing Arts” funds support the people and partners who ensure “the show must go on!” From stipends for young actors to partnerships with more than 10 local arts groups, donations to “Performing Arts” funds fuel Pablo Center’s greatest asset- performances!

Education Fund

From free summer programs for youth to artist classroom visits, Robotics Club or ARTmobile—our free, mobile art education program—support for Pablo Center’s educational programming helps expand opportunities for the arts in our region.

Facility Fund

Join us in ensuring that the vision and aspirations for Pablo Center are continued through the stewardship of this world-renowned facility. To maintain the structural, technical, and aesthetic quality of this spectacular 135,000 sq ft building, we rely on donations from our community. Donations to this fund will be recognized on Pablo Center’s Legacy Wall.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Pablo Center at the Confluence operates under a unique mission of providing transformative learning experiences to diverse audiences. It is through this mission that we seek to unite industry professionals, students, and the community at-large via creative collaborations, creating infinite possibilities, and opportunities for all. Programs offered include:

Pablo Center Robotics Club

To engage students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), Pablo Center offers a range of opportunities for students to design, build, program, and even compete with robots. LEGO League is an introduction to competitive robotics for students in 6th-8th grade. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a robotics team for area high school students who want to challenge themselves with science and technology; students say it is the “hardest fun you’ll ever have.”

Educational Groups

Pablo Center strives to create unique educational experiences for area school groups throughout the year. This includes school matinees, lecture/demos, behind the scene tours, and more.

Want to learn about how your education group can get involved? Send an email to outreach@pablocenter.org to be notified of upcoming opportunities.
