RE-IMAGINE | RE-EMERGE

As summer approaches, so does the return of the great American road trip; the chance for people to fill up their gas tanks and strike out in search of the familiar and the new. Taking with us a bit of home, we bring back an expanded understanding of a world so much bigger than ourselves. No matter the destination or the traveler, there seems always to be one unifying question. A question sometimes whispered from the backseat, though other times bellowed at the top of one’s lungs: “Are we there yet?!”

In o ur rush to arrive at the destination, we often miss the journey along the way. Did we stop at the historical marker to experience a moment of history? Did we pause to admire a piece of highway art? Did we pull off at the scenic overlook to appreciate nature’s beauty?

O ver the last year, it would have been easy for Pablo Center to focus solely on the end destination of hosting live, in-person events again. As our Patrons, Donors and Sponsors, your contributions not only ensured that we never lost sight of the road ahead, but also, gifted us the time to take note of the journey. We reflected, processed, and transformed. As a result, we now add a crucial ingredient to our DREAM | CREATE | INSPIRE moto: Re-Imagine. With the addition of this ingredient, we have not been just focused on the end goal of simply opening; we’re also focused on how Pablo Center can take an active role in shaping our region’s future.

Th is Fall, Pablo Center will Re-Emerge by hosting over 400 live performances and events. To celebrate, we commissioned Wisconsin Poet Laureate Dasha Kelly Hamilton for a poem to mark this metamorphic occasion. The words from the sixth stanza of her poem, “By Definition”, helped inspire our 4th Season:

The movement of air is caused by difference

The phenomenon of wind ensures the possibility of life

Life is an accounting of exhales and held breaths

Breaths we all push forward, push out, point skyward Together

If yo u’re still wondering, “Are we there yet?!” the answer is a resounding; YES! Long and winding as the road has been, at last we have arrived together.

We look forward to you joining us, in person, for Pablo Center’s 2021-2022, 4 th Season.

EDUCATIONAL GROUPS (4K-12TH GRADE)

Pablo Center strives to create unique educational experiences for area school groups throughout the year. This includes school matinees, master classes, lecture/demos, artists classroom visits, behind the scene tours, and more. Want to learn about how your education group can get involved? Send an email to outreach@pablocenter.org to be notified of upcoming educational outreach opportunities.

ARTMOBILE

Have you recently gone on a walk with your family hoping to see some beautiful green leaves? Ever wonder what inspired some of Salvador Dali’s paintings? At Pablo Center, we are always exploring new ways and inspiration for creating art with families at Pablo Center’s ARTmobile.

Our ARTmobile program is continuing its free arts outreach to children and families in the Chippewa Valley expanding its reach further by producing and posting video content featuring fun and educational art projects on Pablo Center’s social media channels and website. We make the work of art easy by providing step-by-step instructions, supply lists, and educational content.

Creating artwork with your family should be an enjoyable experience. We’ll be posting new projects every week so that you can sit around your kitchen table, eat a snack, and take some time to create beautiful art together!

The RCU Theatre is a Broadway-style theatre that can hold more than 1,200 seated patrons. With state-of-the-art sound and lighting, a lift orchestra pit, and internationally recognized acoustics, the RCU Theatre provides artists with the unique opportunity to perform in a venue that ranks within the top 90% in the world for non-amplified sound and in the top 95% for amplified sound.
