OPENING WORDS
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JASON JON ANDERSON Dream | Create | Inspire This powerful triad of creative process words serves as the core to the greater Pablo Center mission. They were present through the construction of the building, our grand opening 20 short months ago, and they ensure we keep the horizon in focus, always moving us forward. These three words are crucial descriptors in the cyclical, non-stop creative process each of us possess and utilize every day. They embolden the entrepreneurial spirit. They serve as reflection points to stay in touch with our inner child. They highlight some of the best qualities within humanity and encourage us to challenge one another to push the human race forward. These three words dare us as individuals and as a whole to be more. They remind us that we are all makers and part of the creative process. They serve as the title for Season 3. Creatives have a special relationship with risk. Every new idea, artistic choice, or ‘first’ when viewed as a risk could be paralyzing whereas creatives view risk as a challenge to be overcome. When Makers and Creatives encounter a halting obstacle, they simply find a new perspective - whether through personal inspiration or creative collaboration - a previously unattainable enhanced refinement is found. This resiliency emboldens all of us to reflect and push ourselves further. Pablo Center, as a building, has
been dark since March, but the incredible core staff has never stopped. We have been actively listening, learning, strengthening our collaborations, our partnerships, our community involvement, our educational outreach, leading regional initiatives, leading national legislation, and national reopening guidelines for live event venues. We have been engaged with our partners in ensuring that our regional creative economy survives. Producing Season 3 is a risk, a risk that I challenge all of you, our patrons and guests, to join us in. We stay committed to ensuring artist, guest, and staff safety is paramount through all phases of our reopening. We are excited to open the galleries, theatres, and building when allowed indoor event capacities increase and physical-distancing requirements are minimized. On behalf of the entire core staff, we are looking forward to hosting you, hopefully in October, and presenting you with our incredible third season.

DIRECTOR OF ARTISTIC PROGRAMMING EVAN MIDDLESWORTH A new team facing new challenges invites the chance to take risks that explore the known unknowns and welcomes an allowance for change. Season 3, my first with Pablo. Day 1, November 4, 2019, barely knowing my artistic teammates, we established our bearings and got this journey underway. We explored an eclectic mix of art and educational outreach opportunities that pull from the past, resonates with the present, and builds confidence for the future. March 2020, hitting a stride, we were met with an unseen new challenge, both figuratively and literally. COVID-19 introduced a host of new concerns and obstacles to navigate. It struck our industry quickly from cancelling world tours to local open-mics. It opened conversation with artists, agents and promoters inviting the chance to be a calm presence and an opportunity to solidify our creative relationship by working through the challenges together. I applaud all industry professionals for maintaining their composure when their livelihoods are at risk. That’s not to be taken lightly. May 25 2020 – The killing of Mr. George Perry Floyd Jr sparked acts of civil unrest and protest across the country and around the world. Learning of Mr. Floyds death, I was shaken to the core. Throughout history during times of need, we’ve turned to art – a platform for pure expression, a resonator of truth, a reflection, a way to heal.
All of us will take our own time to reconcile and rebuild, in our own way. Pablo can offer an outlet to help navigate the process of healing and bringing people back together. Wynton Marsalis, Anais Mitchell’s Making the Music, the Broadway cast of Waitress, LA Theatre Works, acrobats of DIAVOLO, COVID-19: Shelter and Black Lives Matter: Silence Equals Violence art exhibitions, our partnering theatre, symphonic, and jazz groups, and Milwaukee Poet Laureate Dasha Kelly Hamilton are a few of the artists dedicated to helping all of us rebuild. I stand proudly beside my team, Rose Dolan-Neill, Sarah Becker, and Mike Lee. This year will be laser-etched in history and I will forever feel proud that this is the creative team that helped guide us through – my endless gratitude towards the three of you. My fellow Pablo executive team and staff members inspire me to aim higher and become better. We’ve proven we can stick together which is crucial, not only right now, but in the bigger picture of Pablo Center. Most importantly – thank you – for reading, for supporting and for your willingness to find a path towards healing through art.

CHIPPEWA VALLEY JAZZ ORCHESTRA (CVJO) Since 2009, the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra’s goal has been to raise public awareness of the richness and complexity of the one true American musical art form, jazz, with musicians in the Chippewa Valley including full-time performers, music educators, students, and other community members with a passion for the art of the big band. This collection of talent makes it possible for the CVJO to tackle a wide variety of musical styles and eras, and their concerts reflect both the traditions that are the underpinnings of jazz as well as the works of modern composers.
CHIPPEWA VALLEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (CVSO) In its 45th year, the Chippewa Valley Symphony will continue to provide memorable symphonic experiences to audiences across the Chippewa Valley.Throughout the 2020-21 season, the symphony aims to increase the understanding and appreciation of orchestral music in the region, expanding its audience through a diverse selection of local artists and arrangements. EAU CLAIRE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA The Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra has brought professional chamber music to the Chippewa Valley of Western Wisconsin
for nearly 23 years. The orchestra is proud to bring music to the Chippewa Valley region that is performed by approximately 40 musicians with careers leading them to perform internationally and to teach in university and professional studio settings.
EAU CLAIRE CHILDREN’S THEATRE (ECCT) Since its founding in 1989, the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre has provided quality theatrical performances for theatre lovers of all ages as cast, crew, and audience members. A non-profit, volunteerdriven organization, ECCT has dedicated over 30 years of service to the community.
EAU CLAIRE MALE CHORUS The 40-voice Eau Claire Male Chorus has been performing in the Eau Claire area since 1946. Approaching its 75th Anniversary, it is the longest continuously-performing arts group in the Chippewa Valley.
THE MASTER SINGERS The Master Singers, a community chamber ensemble with membership from throughout the Greater Chippewa Valley, performs repertoire from a rich choral tradition. The ensemble is celebrating its 28th Concert Season in 2020-2021.

We make the work of art easy by providing step-bystep einstructions, supply lists, and educational content. PABLO CENTER ROBOTICS CLUBS
APPRENTICESHIP DAY
To engage students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM), Pablo Center offers a range of opportunities for students to design, build, program, and even compete with robots. Lego Spike Club is a new offering designed for 5th-7th graders new to programming and robotics, while Lego League is an introduction to competitive robotics for students in 6th-8th grade. New this year, FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a robotics team for area high school students who want to challenge themselves with science and technology what students say is the “hardest fun you’ll ever have.”
In recognition of National Apprenticeship Month in November, Chippewa Valley Technical College and Pablo Center at the Confluence are partnering to host the third annual apprenticeship exploration day highlighting how workers can enter skilled trades through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
GIRLS WHO CODE CLUB Designed for 6th-8th graders, the Girls Who Code club is an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience utilizing coding skills, work on projects they are passionate about, and learn about amazing female leaders working in computer science careers across a wide spectrum of industries.
WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS SUMMIT Hosted in partnership with the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce, this event is designed to provide area employers with practical solutions they can implement to solve immediate and long-term workforce challenges
SPECIAL TOPIC WORKSHOPS We offer a variety of one day and multi-part special topic workshops throughout the year that range from workforce development to skill building.

The RCU Theatre is a Broadway-style theatre that can hold more than 1,200 seated patrons. The Jamf Theatre is the largest, hybrid black box theatre in the Midwest and one of the five largest of its kind in the nation. This flexible space can hold approximately 400 seated patrons in proscenium style or up to 300 guests at round tables on the floor. This unique brick-walled space can be reconfigured to meet the needs of each production and its guests, making it ideal for concerts, conferences, theatrical performances, fundraisers, and seated meals. With 1935 sq. feet and a breathtaking view of the confluence, The Market & Johnson Clearwater Recital Hall is the perfect venue for receptions, intimate dinners, and pre-show gatherings. This space, inclusive of a bar and a fully integrated, color changing LED lighting system, is the optimal addition to any evening.
The Richard & Marcia Larson Performance Gallery is a thirdfloor rehearsal room featuring a sprung floor for dance and showcases stunning views of the Chippewa River. This 1960 sq. foot space can easily accommodate meetings, community events, rehearsals, artistic performances, and receptions.

ACCESS THE BUILDING From both the Gibson Street and Main entrance there is level access to the Box Office. There is elevator access to second and third floors, and handicap accessible and individual bathrooms on the first and third floors. Service dogs are welcome. Valet is also free for any patron who has injury or handicap.
WHEELCHAIR SEATING
BEVERAGES & CONCESSIONS Whether it’s a pre-show drink or a snack, Pablo Center has delicious and desirable options for everybody. The bars open two hours prior to every performance so come early and make it a night.
There are wheelchair spaces available in both theatres as well as companion seating - please reserve when making your booking. Easily accessible seating can be reserved for audience members who prefer to transfer from a wheelchair to a seat.
HEARING ASSISTANCE FOR PERFORMANCES
Pablo Center is bringing artisan approach to its bar with monthly handcrafted cocktails, craft beer, and a range of spirits from local to high-end while also stocking area favorites.
Upon request, an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter can be provided for performances. To request ASL services, please contact the box office at least two weeks ahead of the performance. ASL services are not guaranteed. Pablo Center also has hearing loops available at the BMO Box Office.
