BUILDING WOMEN IN THE TRADES: Tracy Parker Earns NABTU Tradeswoman Heroes Award
Congratulations to Journeyworker Tracy Parker for being nominated – and winning – the North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) Tradeswoman Heroes award for the month of December. Tracy is a 17-year veteran of Tulsa, OK Local 107, and was first hired by P1 as a labor foreman in 2014. She is currently working on a P1 Construction project in Pryor, OK, which marks her fifth project with P1. Throughout her trades career, Tracy has held the positions of auditor, steward, foreman, and general foreman. According to the NABTU website, nominees for the award must be in good standing with their local union and display outstanding leadership on - and off - the job site. Tracy's nomination form reads: “Tracy has been an important part of our local WANTT-Women Accessing Non Traditional Trades program. She went on camera for a local news station to help recruit our first class, and then she came and spoke to the class about what to expect. She tries to help promote working hard and standing up for each other.” “I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award – the P1 Pryor team couldn’t be more proud,” P1 Operations Manager Casey Walsh said. Congratulations, Tracy! Pictured, above: Tracy recently attended the “Women Build Nations” Conference in Washington D.C.
