COURSE PRESENTED BY: Essam Ahmed, Master Vita Ceramist GDC No 149906 from Precision Dental Ceramics, who graduated from Cardiff University School of Dental technology and has over 20 years of experience. COURSE OBJECTIVES: This official Vita course will provide a comprehensive overview of Vita VM9 Ceramic, to produce a single anterior and a single posterior aesthetic ceramic crown. The emphasis will be to understand the materials involved and techniques required, to meet the aesthetic challenges faced by Technicians today. Working without traditional bonding alloys, including hands on practical sessions with VITA VM9 and Zirconia. COURSE OUTCOMES: Delegates will understand the materials involved and the bonding and cementation processes. They will also understand how the materials can be used for different clinical cases and the features and benefits to clinicians and their patients. Upon completion of the course delegates will have a practical knowledge of build-up techniques, both a simple 2-layer dentine and enamel technique for a molar crown, as well as an advanced 3-layer technique for an anterior crown, with dentine, transpa dentine, enamel and Vita Interno stains. To produce perfect accurate shades with increased luminosity and better light transmission, mimicking natural dentition with in- depth characterisation. Each delegate will take away with them completed anterior and posterior single crowns on a single model, which can be used as a sample to show clients. This official Vita Course is designed so that the experience and knowledge gained, can be used daily in a commercial dental laboratory. This one-day course is ideal for Dental Technicians that have some experience of ceramics. Structured especially for smaller groups, each delegate can gain a working knowledge with practical hands on experience. Those who wish to find out more about aesthetic metal free ceramics will find this a very informative and enjoyable day. You will be provided with: a working model with two single zirconia copings, one anterior and one posterior, plus a Vita Classical shade guide, a light lunch and CPD certificate*. You may wish to bring your preferred ceramic brushes. The course content will include: • Introduction to Vita VM9 materials and kits • Anterior and Posterior coping design for the Zirconia substructure • Vita Classical and 3D Shade guide concepts and how to use • Vita VM9 basic build up technique for good stability and low shrinkage Molar crown. • Vita VM9 advanced build up technique, including use of Vita Interno stains, Anterior crown. • Staining and glazing with Vita Akzant plus stain, to produce natural surface effects • Verifying final restorations, shade checking with Vita Easyshade V.
