A BRIEF HISTORY 1985 Martin Ozinga III and his two cousins, Rich and Jim, usher in the third generation.
1950s Ozinga begins producing ready mix concrete, which soon becomes our exclusive product.
1892 Martin Ozinga Sr. immigrates to America from the Netherlands as a young boy.
1928 Martin Ozinga Sr. establishes Ozinga Coal & Coke company in Evergreen Park, IL.
1929 Ozinga buys our first truck, an International, for coal deliveries.
FIRST GENERATION
1988 Ozinga continues to grow and breaks into the downtown Chicago market.
1956 1942 Martin Ozinga Sr. transfers the business to his sons Martin Jr., Rich, and Norm. (Ozinga brothers temporarily close operations to fight in WWII).
1946 Iconic red and white stripes established as doors reopen in January.
SECOND GENERATION
The company name is changed to an incorporated partnership, Ozinga Bros., Inc.
1960s & 70s Ozinga moves our headquarters to Alsip, IL, and continues to expand our footprint in the south suburbs of Chicago and northwest Indiana.
1989-90 Ozinga supplies all the concrete for the construction of the new Comiskey Park (now Guaranteed Rate Field).
1990 Ozinga unveils first front discharge mixer in Illinois.
THIRD GENERATION
2017 2002 Ozinga supplies concrete for the Soldier Field renovation.
2007 Ozinga produces over 250,000 cubic yards for Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago.
2008 Materials & Logistics operations are established.
2003 Ozinga celebrates our 75th anniversary and grows to become one of the leading concrete suppliers in the Midwest.
2006 Ozinga partners with City of Henry, IL to build Port of Henry on Illinois River.
2012 The fourth generation, comprised of Martin Ozinga III’s six sons and Richard Ozinga’s son Jeff, steps into leadership.
2014 Ozinga acquires Meyer Materials in Illinois.
2011 Ozinga introduces first compressed natural gas (CNG) concrete mixer in the Midwest.
Ozinga debuts the Merry Mixer, a ready-mix truck outfitted with 20,000 LED lights, animated light sequences, and Christmas tunes.
2017 Ozinga expands into Miami, Florida.
2018 Ozinga christens 2 new towboats, expanding our fleet to 6.
2015 Ozinga acquires Meyer Materials and Aggregate Industries plants in Wisconsin and Indiana.

Marty Ozinga IV Marty is the president of Ozinga Bros. Inc. and the oldest of the fourth generation. He holds a master’s degree in communications from Northwestern University and is actively involved with The Bright Promise Fund for Urban Christian Education. Marty’s childhood dream was to play for the White Sox, and he remains an avid Chicago sports fan.

Karl is president of Ozinga International, overseeing all international-related trade and activity. He is also active on the Ozinga Board of Directors. He graduated from Westmont College in California where he studied business and art. He lives in Southern California and enjoys spending time with his wife Amber and their four kids.
Jeff is the executive vice president for the concrete operation. He graduated from Trinity Christian College with a degree in business and is currently is a board member for Southwest Chicago Christian Schools. He thoroughly enjoys golf and traveling with his family.

Justin is the president of the concrete operation. Raised in a house of six boys, Justin is now the proud father of five girls. Justin received his bachelor’s degree from Westmont College, where he studied business and economics. He enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with his family, and is a certified private pilot as well as an advanced open water diver.
Aaron is the president of Ozinga Materials & Logistics, overseeing the growth and development of the bulk aggregate, marine, truck, and terminal businesses. He also serves as the current president and executive board member of the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers, and is also an executive board member of Trinity Christian College, his alma mater. Aaron and his wife Amanda have five children.
Paul is the executive vice president of the concrete operation in the Chicago region. He has a bachelor’s degree in concrete industry management from Middle Tennessee State University, making him the only one who thought it might be wise to get a degree in concrete. Paul currently lives in Chicago with his wife and five children.
Tim Ozinga Tim is the executive vice president of Ozinga Bros., Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree in business and political science from Trinity Christian College and his master’s in business administration from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. Tim is active in serving his local community of Mokena, IL where he and his wife Amanda raise their four daughters.
