SCOPE OF EVALUATION (compliance with the following codes): This Product Evaluation Report is being issued in accordance with the requirements of the 2012 International Building Code for generic use within the state seal shown per Section 104.11. The product noted on this report has been tested and/or evaluated as summarized herein. Re-evaluation of this product shall be required following pertinent International Building Code and local state code modifications or revisions.
All components which are permanently installed shall be protected against corrosion, contamination, and other such damage at all times. Installer is reponsible to protect against dissimilar materials. Fasteners, including nuts and washers, for use in exterior conditions and in contact with preservative-treated wood or for fire-retardant-treated wood shall be of hot-dipped zinc-coated galvanized steel, stainless steel, silicon bronze or copper. Wood screws and lag screws shall be permited to be of mechanically deposited zinc-coated steel with coating weights in accordance with ASTM B 695, Class 55 minimum

SUBSTANTIATING DATA: • Product Test Reports Uplift and download forces and torsional moment for structural performance has been tested using the methods described by ASTM D 1761 Standard Test Methods for Mechanical Fasteners in Wood as per test report # D6706.01-119-16 by Architectural Testing, Inc (Report date: 06/13/14). • Structural Engineering Calculations Structural engineering calculations have been prepared which evaluate the product based on comparative and/or rational analysis to qualify the following design criteria: Maximum allowable uplift capacity Maximum allowable gravity capacity Maximum torsional moment capacity Anchor capacity No 33% increase in allowable stress has been used in the design of this product. INSTALLATION: The product listed above shall be installed in strict compliance with the Product Evaluation Document (i.e. engineering drawing from the test report), along with all components noted therein. The product components shall be of the material specified in the Product Evaluation Document. Bolts and screws must be installed in accordance with the applicable provisions in the NDS and concrete anchor manufacturer’s published installation instructions. Full engagement shall be provided when connecting the steel flanges (lips) together for full capacity. (leave 1/8” minimum length of uncovered lip past the outer steel plane surface). LIMITATIONS & CONDITIONS OF USE: Use of this product shall be in strict accordance with the Product Evaluation Documents as noted herein. All supporting host structures shall be designed to resist all superimposed loads and shall be of a material listed in this report. Host structure conditions which are not accounted for in this product’s respective anchor schedule shall be designed for on a site-specific basis by a registered Professional Engineer. Adjustment factors noted herein and all applicable codes shall be considered by the installer, where applicable.

ELEVATED POST HOLDOWN The post base architectural line has a 1/2” standoff height to reduce the potential effects of decay at post and column ends. MATERIAL: Shall be 7 gauge base and sideplate (12 gauge for 4x4 post, see Table 1) in accordance with ASTM A653 Grade 33 with minimum yield strength, Fy = 33 ksi and a minimum tensile strength, Fu = 45 ksi. FINISH: Comprised of powder coated, hot dip galvanized steel conforming to ASTM A153. INSTALLATION: Use all specified fasteners. Assembly kit includes fasteners to wood post. See General Notes. This product does not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base or torsion along longitudinal axis and therefore is not recommended for non top-supported installations or moment connections after base, such as fences or unbraced carports. Use of post base connector with engineered wood products and different wood species other than listed herein as Southern Yellow Pine (specific gravity, G=0.55) or Douglas Fir-Larch (specific gravity, G=0.50) are not covered under this report and shall be evaluated by a Professional Engineer. All side plates are required to be installed with full engagement of lips at base to obtain full load capacity. OPTIONS: For specific scenarios contact OZCO for custom solutions.
The IBC defines: APPROVED SOURCE – “An independent person, firm or corporation, approved by the building official, who is competent and experienced in the application of engineering principles to materials, methods or systems analyses.” Engineering Express professionals meet the approved source requirements as defined in the IBC and can seal their work. Engineering Express is regularly engaged in conducting and providing engineering evaluations of single-element and full-scale building systems tests. This TER is developed from test reports complying with IBC Section 104.11.1 Research Reports, which states, “Supporting data, where necessary to assist in the approval of materials or assemblies not specifically provided for in this code, shall consist of valid research reports from approved sources.”

Rafter Seams
The OWT Rafter SeamTM is a specialty connector that is the first of its kind. Although it is useful for many types of connections one of the most common is to join rafters for curved top pergolas. A curved top structure is a real conversation piece, but conventional construction techniques have major limitations. So how does it work? Start by cutting the rafters into the shape that you would like. Position the two boards tightly together, then position Rafter SeamTM, using our stamped hash marks to align the seam. Install screws on both sides of the joint. Then tighten the bolt to snug the two pieces together. Repeat this process for the other side of the rafter with the bolt facing the opposite direction.

We recently installed a new arbor/patio cover in our back yard. We heard about the OZCO line through a friend and thought we would try it out. Terms and Conditions of Sale GENERAL
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
The terms and conditions of this document shall constitute the entire Agreement for the purchase and sale of the products to Purchaser. Acceptance made expressly conditional upon Purchaser’s assent to these terms, which may differ from, vary or be in addition to the terms in Purchaser’s purchase order or request for quotation. Any varying, differing or additional terms and conditions contained in the Purchaser’s purchase order or request for quotation shall not be binding upon Hillman.
All goods returned to and accepted by Hillman as defective or incorrect shall be replaced or credited in full. No claim made hereunder by the Purchaser, whether as to goods delivered or for non-delivery, shall be greater than the purchase price of the goods in respect of which such claim is made. PURCHASER WAIVES ANY CLAIM AGAINST HILLMAN FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, COMPENSATORY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST PROFITS AND BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, WHICH MAY RESULT FROM YOUR PURCHASE AND/OR USE OF THE PRODUCTS. HILLMAN MAKES NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR MERCHANTABILITY AND NO OTHER WARRANTY, ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, EXCEPT AS SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH HEREIN. Purchaser agrees to indemnify and hold Hillman harmless from all claims, demands, and costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by third parties against Hillman relating to Purchaser’s use of the products, and to pay any costs and expenses incurred by Hillman to enforce Purchaser’s obligations, including, without limitation, the costs of collection for any unpaid amounts owed to Hillman by Purchaser.
DISCOUNT TERMS A 1% cash discount is allowed for invoices paid within 10 days of invoice date or net payment due within 30 days. Any new orders or back-orders will be held without shipment if there are unpaid invoices in excess of 45 days, or if authorized credit limit is exceeded.
PRICES Prices are subject to change without advance notice. All items will be invoiced at the catalog price less the applicable discounts. Prices apply for full box quantities only. Partial boxes will be invoiced at full retail price. Only certain products will be available for partial box sales.
QUOTATIONS Written price quotations remain in effect for thirty days from time of quotation unless otherwise stated in writing.
MINIMUM ORDER Minimum order is $25, based on Hillman current Net Purchaser Prices. Orders of less than $25 will be processed with a $25 Net Invoice.
BACK ORDERS All orders will be accepted on a ship and cancel basis, unless otherwise requested. Displays, assortments and special items WILL be back-ordered unless otherwise stated.
FREIGHT The routing of ALL shipments shall be entirely within the discretion of Hillman. Special shipping requests – airfreight – bus shipments – special dispatch – drop shipments, etc. – will be sent freight collect and will be F.O.B. shipping point. Long length rods, angles, flats, etc. will be shipped F.O.B. shipping point on shipments of 300 lbs. or less. Orders less than $250.00 will be charged freight. Handling charges will be as follows: Orders less than $250.00 are subject to a $1.00 handling charge. Orders over $250.00 are subject to a $4.00 handling charge. As economic circumstances dictate, a fuel surcharge may be assessed in addition to freight and handling on all orders. Freight terms are subject to change without prior notice.
SPECIAL ORDERS AND ORDERS FOR NON-STOCKING PRODUCT Special orders are non-cancelable, non-returnable and must be ordered via a purchase order from the Purchaser. All special orders will be shipped in accordance with quoted lead times and at industry standard ±10% of the order quantity. Purchaser is liable for the entire order quantity.
CLAIMS AND DAMAGES All damages and shortages must be reported to us within five days after receipt of merchandise. If goods are damaged in transit or shortages received, notification should be made directly with carriers. Before reporting shortages, please check to make sure packing slip indicates shorted items have been shown as being shipped.
COSTS Any and all costs resulting from, or incurred in connection with the collection of any monies due from the Purchaser, including court costs, appellate court costs, and Hillman’s reasonable attorney’s fees will be the responsibility of the Purchaser.
ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE If Hillman and Purchaser have mutually agreed to use an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system to facilitate purchase and sale transactions, Purchaser agrees: that it will not contest (i) any contract of sale resulting from an EDI transaction under the provisions of any law relating to whether agreements must be in writing or signed by the party to be bound thereby; or (ii) the admissibility of copies of EDI records under the business records exception to the hearsay rule, the best evidence rule or any other similar rule, on the basis that such records were not originated or maintained in documentary form. Hillman and Purchaser will negotiate and agree on technical standards and methods to use in making EDI purchases, and will use proper security procedures to protect EDI records from improper access. The business records maintained by Hillman regarding EDI purchases made by Purchaser shall be controlling.
TAXES All applicable federal, state or local sales, use, occupational or excise taxes are the responsibility of the Purchaser and shall be in addition to the price or prices stated. Hillman shall have the right to invoice separately any such tax as may be imposed at a later time. Applicable tax exemption certificates must accompany any order to which the same applies.
CONFIDENTIALITY Purchaser will hold any information concerning Hillman’s business, or any other information about Hillman, in absolute and strict confidence.
APPLICABLE LAW This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its choice of law provisions, and the sole jurisdiction and venue for any litigation arising with regard to this Agreement shall be an appropriate federal or state court located in Hamilton County, Ohio.
