DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
2024 has been quite the year for Oxford! Having the privilege of hosting some once-in-a-lifetime Total Eclipse events was an experience we’ll never forget! We also had the pleasure of serving the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure this summer here at the TRI Community Center for the first time ever.
As we eagerly look forward to the coming months, we’re excited about a new playground being installed at Merry Day Park and a new Dog Park being built on Bonham Road. As the Parks and Recreation Director, I feel blessed on a daily basis to work for and serve a community that values recreation and outdoor spaces in many forms. As our mission statement says, we strive to ‘enhance the quality of life’ of this community through programs such as preschool and youth sports and with facilities such as playgrounds, sports fields, pickleball courts and trails.
As our school-age students return to the classroom, and the university students return to Oxford, make sure you carve out time to be active and be healthy! Take a stroll on the new paved trail to one of the schools, visit Hueston Woods State Park, play some family pickleball or come to an uptown festival. We hope to see you out and about this upcoming season.
