A COLD SUPPER BEHIND HARRODS

Fifty years after the war that brought them together, three Special Operations Executive agents meet to record interviews for a television documentary. A star-studded play reading, streamed live from the Playhouse stage to our audiences at home starring national treasure and 4-time BAFTA Award-winner David Jason, Stephanie Cole and Anton Lesser with Saffron Coomber and Lucy Doyle.

FOUR QUARTETS

Ralph Fiennes directs and stars in the world premiere adaptation of T.S. Eliot’s Four Quartets. Compelling, moving and symphonic, Four Quartets was mostly written during a period of closure for theatres in WWII and contains some of the most exquisite and unforgettable reflections on surviving a national crisis. This highly anticipated production marks the first appearance by Ralph Fiennes on the Playhouse stage.

Seated on individual chairs, lit by your own lighting state, listening through headphones to this fully immersive new play, you are placed at the heart of this 360-degree binaural experience.

Our Together Again season includes a wide range of participation activities for all our audiences to get in involved through storytelling projects, post-show Q&As, youth theatre companies, befriending sessions, script writing workshops and a full schools’ programme including OP’s flagship scheme for supporting literacy in Oxfordshire’s primary schools, Primary Playmaker. All our participation sessions will remain online during Summer 2021, and return to being live and in-person from September 2021.

Oxford Playhouse continues to follow the safety and hygiene measures set out by the government in its guidance for performing arts and has been awarded the See it Safely and We’re Good to Go kitemarks by UK Theatre and Visit England.
