Theme: Competition for creating a mmemorial for the victims of the Plasco Building fire Location: Tehran, Iran Year: 2017 Team: Daneshgar Architects

The project was submitted for an iranian competition that aimed to build a memorial on the site of the former Plasco Building. The Plasco Building was a 17-story high-rise landmark building in Tehran, the capital city of Iran. At the time of its construction in the 1960s it was the tallest building in Iran and was considered an iconic part of the Tehran skyline. The building collapsed on 19 January 2017 during a skyscraper fire, killing 20 firefighters and injurying others. The proposed design is tying the human life on earth and that of the soul that lives afterwards in the sky, creating a monumental space at the intersection of them, a place that keeps the memory of the dead, the heroes who tried to stop the fire that eventually destroied the building.
