I’m especially delighted that our new season is filled with so much music. There truly is something for everyone. Jazz fans will be thrilled to hear that Wynton Marsalis is returning to our stage with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Rock ‘n roll fans will not be disappointed, as the much beloved records Pink Floyd’s The Wall and AC/DC’s Back in Black will be performed by Classic Albums Live. For those of you who saw the film Bohemian Rhapsody and can’t get enough Freddy Mercury, we offer One Night of Queen.

Film and orchestra fans will be delighted with Star Wars Live in Concert with the Madison Symphony Orchestra. Latin music fans will surely enjoy Puerto Rico’s Plena Libre.

Previously of the Grammy-winning Turtle Island Quartet, also nominated for a Grammy for “Best Instrumental Composition” in 2018, Jeremy Kittel has been a composer-arranger-collaborator for such diverse artists as My Morning Jacket, Yo-Yo Ma & the Silk Road Ensemble and Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn. He blazes through a Bach violin partita as easily as a Scottish reel, bringing the same intense focus and precision to both. For the last few years the Michigan native, now based in Brooklyn, has been diligently building his own repertoire of music for a wholly original new group.

A new generation of fans is being introduced to the traditional music of Mexico by Latin Grammy-nominated Mariachi Herencia de México, an ensemble of 11- to 18-year-old students from Chicago’s immigrant barrios.

Playing the music of their parents and grandparents, their passion for the songs and heritage is contagious. They are touring with their new album Herencia De La Tierra Mía.

This Kittel and Co. show features mandolin phenom Josh Pinkham (named “the future of the mandolin” by Mandolin Magazine) and guitarist Quinn Bachand (who’s toured with fiddling icons Ashley MacIsaac and Natalie MacMaster).

Recording artist and Broadway performer Syndee Winters will express her love of music and her influences from The Fugees to Sarah Vaughan! He’ll also share a preview of his new documentary, The River and The Wall, which focuses on wildlife along the Mexico & US border.

Composed of classically trained violist and violinist Wil B. and Kev Marcus, Black Violin has created an original multi-genre sound that combines both their classical backgrounds with hip-hop influences.

Theater Terra brings Hans Christian Andersen’s magical tale The Little Mermaid to life. In this family musical, the mermaid with a voice of gold dreams of the world above the sea, which comes true after she rescues a drowning prince and strikes a bargain to walk on land and find love. The story is told with puppetry, songs and an inventive set.
