They will perform songs from their latest album, “Esencia,” a tribute to the golden age of Mexican music and to several Latin music legends.

WED, JAN 12, 2022 11 AM | Capitol Theater Rae Wynn-Grant has dedicated her life to ecological research and conservation. As a scientist with National Geographic Society’s Last Wild Places Initiative, she works to protect and restore iconic wildlife populations, including North American black and grizzly bears. But when the wild lands of their habitat are crisscrossed by roads, fences and ranches, how can bears and humans coexist peacefully? Dr. Wynn-Grant intends to find the answer.

Freedom Riders demonstrates the importance of working together to affect change and specifically how nonviolent protests were used to focus attention on the cruelties of segregation.

Designed as a show for young audiences, Parr’s stories cleverly deliver the important messages of acceptance, understanding, self-confidence and what we can do to keep the Earth happy and healthy.

It’s everything you expect, but like nothing you’d imagine. A fusion of Ireland’s vibrant and longstanding dance-form and elements of American innovation, Trinity Irish Dance Company (TIDC) dazzles audiences with its hard-driving percussive power, lightning-fast agility and aerial grace. Minutes into watching the awe-inspiring precision of its dancers, TIDC expands whatever notions you may have about Irish dance, revealing its limitless possibilities through a performing arts lens.

“Afrique en Cirque” is a highly colorful creation featuring a handful of amazing acrobats and musicians from Cirque Kalabanté, performing their authentic choreography to the frantic rhythms of djembes and other native instruments of Guinea.

To the melodious sound of the kora, artistic director and company founder Yamoussa Bangoura takes us into an elsewhere that radiates the diversity of traditional African arts combined with the virtuosity of the North American modern circus performance.

MON, MAY 9, 2022 10 AM & 12:30 PM Capitol Theater A mischievous duo starts to doodle… and ends up creating a whole imaginative world! They invite us along on their sea adventure with a tiny turtle. This touching and playful non-verbal show uses live musicians who perform the accompanying score and sound effects, stunning interactive animation projections and live whiteboard drawings, and an abundance of theatrical imagination.
