From the Publisher
A
s another issue of Tow Professional magazine arrives in your mailbox, fall is becoming a welcomed friend just a short distance down the road. Once again, we thank our tow professionals not only for their loyalty to our publication, but also for their continued support of our vendors. That support over the past 15½ years has made a tremendous impact on our industry. This year has been a barn burner and fast-paced, to say the least. The decisions we make in business today are more important than ever. At Tow Professional, our editors and contributors take pride in providing in-depth features on the products, services, people, and companies that keep our industry moving forward. Our goal is to give you the information you need to make quality decisions for your business, your employees, and your future. In this issue, we proudly honor the newest inductees into the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame, recognizing their dedication and never-ending support of our industry. We also take a moment to spotlight the International Towing Hall of Fame Weekend and the people who make this special event possible. The partnership between Miller Industries and Hino brings us another vehicle designed to make dreams come true while playing a key role in supporting the men and women who serve our industry every day. In this issue’s installment of Fuel for Thought, DJ Harrington talks about “Donations needed, no money involved.” He encourages us to take a look at the Saving Lives Foundation and think about getting involved by donating to a fantastic cause. Michelle Sukow brings us another great story in her Women of Towing series. This time, we take a closer look at Jodi Spandel, her family, and her heart for the towing industry. It is another reminder that behind every successful towing operation are people, families, and stories worth celebrating. This issue also gives back to those who have fallen while serving this great industry. Tow Professional continues its support of the International Towing Museum and Survivor Fund by providing a two-page spread at no cost, helping generate greater awareness and support for the families of our fallen tow professionals. Honoring those we have lost—and supporting the loved ones they left behind—is a responsibility our entire industry shares. We also take a look at wheel lifts and damaged-vehicle movement equipment from Jerr-Dan, Hide-A-Lift, ResQTrack, Kanister Industries, and Collins Dollies. These companies showcase products that provide towing professionals with different options and cost-effective ways to expand their capabilities and add proven money-makers to their operations. Zips also showcases a special donation to the Survivor Fund that you will not want to miss. It is another great example of our industry coming together to support its own. As we move into the fall of 2026, thank you again for your loyalty to Tow Professional magazine, our advertisers, and our vendors. Your continued support allows us to tell the stories, highlight the products, and recognize the people who make this industry great. We hope to see you at the upcoming Mid-Atlantic, Midwest Regional, and Chattanooga Tow Shows in 2026. If you see us, stop by and say hello! Until next time, be safe, stay strong, and God bless you all!

INDUSTRY NEWS TOWING & RECOVERY
FROM THE DESK OF BOB NELSON
Q3 Industry Update from Jerr-Dan:
Bob Nelson
A
s we move into the second half of the year, I’m encouraged by what we’re seeing across the towing and recovery market.
A recap of what’s happened For the past several quarters, dealer inventory has remained at healthy levels. One of the indicators I watch most closely is dealer floor-plan utilization, and that has stayed remarkably consistent. Dealers are carrying the right amount of inventory while maintaining available capacity to replenish stock as equipment moves. That’s an important sign that trucks are flowing through the channel at a steady pace and customers are continuing to invest when the timing is right. From where I sit, that steady rhythm is returning after a period of uncertainty. One of the strongest indicators of that confidence has been the market’s response to our JD35/40 Ton Rotator. When we introduced this truck last year, we believed there was an opportunity to deliver a rotator that filled an important 6
gap in the market — and customers have validated that belief. The success of the JD35/40T comes down to solving real challenges for towing and recovery professionals. It combines heavy recovery and towing capability in a single truck, giving operators the flexibility to handle more jobs with one piece of equipment. Whether recovering a concrete mixer, school bus, vocational truck or other heavy vehicle, it provides the capability many fleets need every day while offering a more attractive investment than larger rotator models. Its size is another advantage. The truck is designed to operate in many jurisdictions without the additional permits often required for larger rotators, giving operators greater flexibility while helping manage operating costs. It’s rewarding to see customers recognize the value of a truck that delivers versatility, capability and a strong return on investment. A look at what’s coming While overall demand remains healthy, we’re also keeping a close eye on several external factors that could influence the market in the coming months as we look toward 2027. The industry continues to watch potential federal EPA guidance related to upcoming chassis emissions requirements. Depending on how those regulations are implemented, chassis costs could increase significantly across multiple truck classes. While Jerr-Dan body pricing has remained relatively stable, chassis pricing ultimately affects the total investment customers make when purchasing a new truck. The good news is that these potential changes aren’t expected to affect the remainder of 2026. In fact, some fleets may choose to move planned purchases forward before any future pricing changes take effect. We’ll continue monitoring developments closely and keep our dealers and customers informed
TOW PROFESSIONAL | Volume 15 • Issue 6 | www.towprofessional.com
as more guidance becomes available. Financing conditions have also remained relatively consistent. Interest rates have held steady throughout the year, giving customers more predictability as they work with their lenders and plan equipment purchases. While inflation and broader economic conditions remain factors to watch, today’s stable lending environment provides confidence as we head toward the industry’s busiest buying season. Preparing for industry events Speaking of buying season, we’re looking forward to seeing many of you this fall. Before heading to the American Towman Exposition in Baltimore, our team will be attending regional events throughout the quarter, including Texas Tow Show, North Carolina Tow Show, and Ohio Tow Show, as well as several state towing association gatherings. These events provide valuable opportunities to connect directly with operators, hear what’s happening in your businesses and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping our industry. As we prepare for Baltimore, we’re continuing to invest beyond new equipment. We’re expanding our aftermarket support by increasing parts inventory and adding more of the products towing professionals rely on every day — from dollies and light bars to other high-use service items. Our goal remains the same: Helping customers keep their trucks working and minimizing downtime when it matters most. As always, thank you for your continued partnership and trust in JerrDan. We appreciate the opportunity to support your business and look forward to seeing many of you over the coming months. Have a safe and successful quarter. Smarter, Safer, Connected:

How Motorola Solutions WAVE Anchors the Tow Fleet Ecosystem
owing operations run on splitsecond decisions. A driver needs backup at roadside, a yard manager needs to confirm who’s on-site after hours, and a dispatcher needs to reach every truck on the road, instantly, no matter what device that driver is carrying. Those are the problems Motorola Solutions WAVE PTX was built to solve, and it’s the foundation EMCI Wireless, a Motorola Solutions Platinum Channel Partner, uses to keep towing companies connected, responsive, and safe. WAVE PTX: The Communications Backbone At the center of that ecosystem is Motorola Solutions’ WAVE PTX, a cloud-delivered broadband push-to-talk platform that connects teams instantly over cellular and Wi-Fi networks, no radio towers or local infrastructure required. Drivers, dispatchers, and yard staff can communicate over rugged WAVE TLK handhelds or the WAVE mobile app on a smartphone, all on one unified channel that supports voice, text, photos, and location sharing. For tow operations spread across multiple job sites, franchises, or municipal contracts, that means one dispatcher can reach every driver instantly, regardless of what device they’re carrying or where they’re working, turning scattered crews into one coordinated team. For owners, that translates directly into faster response times, fewer missed dispatches, and drivers who never feel out of reach, whether they’re on a rural highway or across town from the yard. More Than a Radio: A Full Safety Ecosystem WAVE PTX is also built to grow with an operation. Because the WAVE platform is part of Motorola Solutions’ integrated ecosystem alongside bodyworn cameras, dash cameras, and other 10
safety technology, EMCI Wireless can layer in tools like the Motorola V200 body camera to help your team document hook-ups, roadside interactions, or disputed damage claims, without having to introduce a separate vendor relationship. Communications and video work together instead of living in silos, giving owners a clearer picture with less complexity to manage. Why Towing Companies Choose EMCI Wireless As a Motorola Solutions Platinum Channel Partner, EMCI Wireless holds the highest tier of certification Motorola grants its partners, meaning deep product expertise and priority support. With over 50 years of proven experience deploying mission-critical systems, EMCI has become towing companies’ one-stop shop for all communications and safety technology needs, from radios to camera and access
control systems. EMCI handles needs assessment, system design, deployment, licensing, and training in-house, so towing operators work with one vendor instead of coordinating between separate radio, camera, and software providers. That single point of contact is backed by responsive, US-based customer service from a team that knows the equipment, understands towing workflows, and is there when an operator needs real support, not just a sales call. With WAVE PTX and EMCI Wireless behind it, every dispatch lands faster, every driver stays covered, and every job gets done more efficiently, so towing operators can spend less time managing communication and more time growing their business. A Thought, A Dream, A Reality
Jodi Sprandel of Quality Towing & Equipment Moving
ome people enter the towing industry through a job opportunity. Others are born into it. For Jodi Sprandel, the towing industry grew alongside a love story that began more than four decades ago. As Secretary/ Treasurer and Office Manager of Quality Towing & Equipment Moving in West Chester, Ohio, Jodi has spent 37 years helping build a company, support an industry, and strengthen the relationships that have made both possible. Today, she and her husband Mike proudly celebrate two remarkable milestones: 40 years of marriage and nearly four decades of business ownership.
Even then, towing was already part of his life. Mike had converted a pickup truck into a tow truck and spent his time helping family and friends. Whenever she could, Jodi rode along, simply enjoying time together while unknowingly getting her first glimpse into an industry that would become her life’s work. The couple married on May 10, 1986, and built a beautiful family together, raising two sons, John and James. In 1989, Mike, his brother Eddie, and their parents, Ed and Ruth, officially launched what would become Quality Towing & Equipment Moving. At the time, Jodi worked full-time for a material handling company while assisting the family business during evenings and weekends by answering calls and helping with office operations. After fifteen years with her employer, Jodi made a life-changing decision. Encouraged by her father-in-law, she joined the family business full-time in 2000. “I gave my notice and left the job I had been at for 15 years,” she recalls. “I’ve been with the family business ever since.” Today, after the retirement of Mike’s parents and brother, Jodi and Mike lead the company together with the support of dedicated employees, including Mike’s brothers Bill and Ron. Bill has been driving for the company for 32 years, while Ron has maintained the fleet for 29 years.
Building a Life Together
Growing Beyond Expectations
Jodi was just a senior in high school when she began dating Mike in 1984.

with a Holmes 440 has evolved into a thriving operation. When the company started, Mike was the primary driver while his parents handled phones and paperwork. Today, Quality Towing & Equipment Moving operates seven rollbacks, one heavy-duty tow truck, twenty-five semi tractors, thirty-six equipment moving trailers, and employs thirty team members. The growth reflects not only hard work but also a commitment to building a strong team and maintaining family values throughout the years. “We have built a business with the help of many great employees who are still working with us,” Jodi says proudly. The Heart of the Operation Although she has spent her career primarily in the office, Jodi’s responsibilities have expanded significantly over the years. A typical day may include handling accounts payable, collecting payments, paying vendors, answering phones, assisting
Mike began attending the Midwest Regional Tow Show when it was held at the Kings Island Inn in Mason, Ohio. They have continued attending ever since, becoming fixtures within Ohio’s towing community. As the event moved to Sandusky and grew, so did Jodi’s involvement. She volunteered at the shows and eventually served as a TRAO Region 8 Director, Region 8 Secretary, and Secretary of the Women’s Association. She also handled many behind-the-scenes responsibilities, including weekly trips to the post office, processing mail, logging checks, and making deposits for both TRAO and WTRAO. Although health challenges during 2023 and 2024 required her to step back from some leadership positions, Jodi remains grateful for the friendships and opportunities that industry involvement has provided. “Volunteering and becoming involved in different aspects of the towing industry has blessed us with many friends,” she says. “Without getting involved, we would never have been able to meet individuals and other members of the towing community that we can call for help or they can call on us.” Family First with dispatching, supporting employees, writing the company newsletter, and planning employee appreciation events. Her role touches nearly every aspect of the business, ensuring operations continue running smoothly behind the scenes. Yet for Jodi, success has never been measured by titles or responsibilities. Instead, it has always centered around relationships. One of the greatest lessons she has learned is the value of supporting others and building connections throughout the industry.” One of the best ways to support others in this industry is through recommendations, whether giving or receiving them,” she explains. “Over the years, we’ve built strong friendships with owners and employees from other companies, which has allowed us to share knowledge and work together.” Giving Back to the Industry Jodi’s commitment extends far beyond her own company. She and
Like many women in towing, Jodi understands the challenge of balancing work and family. The industry is demanding, unpredictable, and often all-consuming. Yet her advice remains simple and heartfelt. “Finding the right person to share your life with and supporting them as they support you, whether you are working together in it or not, and putting your family first.” Her admiration belongs to the people who taught her those values. “My parents are my role models,” she says. “Though they have passed, they showed love and care, worked hard, treated others with kindness and respect, and always supported their children, spouses, grandchildren, family, and friends.” Those lessons continue to guide her both personally and professionally. Looking Ahead When she’s not working, Jodi enjoys spending time with family and friends. She and Mike love traveling and often take their camper on monthly adventures.
Do you know a towing lady who deserves recognition? Please send Michelle Sukow or Tow Professional a message. We would love to share her story! (michellesukow@gmail.com)
Recently, the couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a memorable journey along Route 66, traveling from Chicago to Adrian, Texas, the halfway point of the historic route. The experience left them eager for more. Their next goal? Completing the second half of Route 66 and continuing to create new memories together. Advice for the Next Generation For those entering the towing industry, Jodi emphasizes the importance of community. “Make friends within the towing community, join the memberships, listen, learn by interacting and asking questions, and take advantage of training.” Her advice reflects the same philosophy that has helped her thrive throughout her career: success is rarely achieved alone. Defining Success When asked what defines a successful life, Jodi doesn’t mention revenue, equipment, or company size. Instead, her answer reflects the values that have guided her entire journey. “Knowing that our lives are fulfilled with a wonderful loving family and friends and have built a business with the help of many great employees who are still working with us.” After 37 years in towing, countless hours supporting the industry, and a lifetime spent helping others succeed, perhaps Jodi’s most meaningful reflection is also her simplest: “A thought, a dream can become reality.” For Jodi Sprandel, that reality is found not only in the business she helped build, but in the family, friendships, and community she helped create along the way.

Donations Needed, No Money Involved
I LEARNED A LONG TIME AGO when you ask for someone’s help you can get it when you ask for help in the right way. I really need the industry’s help with this project. Here’s what I need and how you can get involved. It will help you too if you help those in need. That’s quite a different approach to giving. How can you get involved to support those in need? You donate a vehicle. Through the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation, donated vehicles could include –- multiple cars, trucks, RVs, boats, and motorcycles. That’s right, motorcycles too! Maybe it’s a vehicle that you consider salvage, ready for auction, or endof-life processing. Or maybe it’s a boat that’s been sitting on your lot for eons thinking that you’ll finally sell it one day to a fisherman or give it to a relative. I encourage you to share this opportunity with as many companies within the industry as possible. Waiting until later doesn’t get the job done today. Talk to as many people as you can about this opportunity. I have only three words: Share, Share, Share! You probably know someone that owns a vehicle that they would like to get off the property ASAP. It could be a storage-lot operator, fleet manager,
repair facility, dealership, insurer, municipality, a vendor, partner, family member, or friend who might have something they could donate. Every day, my wife veers into the left lane around a white car parked on the street curb going to my daughter’s house. Infrequently, it’s driven somewhere because it’s not always parked in its usual place. I know it works, but why is it always parked at the curb inconveniencing other drivers? I plan on asking about that white car being donated the next time we drive by again. Donating it could help someone in need. All these vehicles can be picked up at no cost to anyone donating them. Maybe it’s a vehicle left abandoned, or unused like that white car on the way to my daughter’s house. It could be converted into support for NABC community impact programs. You can help us to help National Auto Body Council, and it could help you

as an owner. Get your staff members involved in identifying vehicles that could be donated to this cause. I thought you might like to know who benefits from each donation. MORE THAN
LIFTING: Four Decisions That Shape Every Successful Recovery PROVIDED BY JERR-DAN CORP.
AS RECOVERY WORK BECOMES MORE COMPLEX, experienced operators know that successful outcomes depend on more than lifting capacity. They depend on the decisions made before, during and throughout every recovery. 26

WHEEL LIFTS & RECOVERY EQUIPMENT
H
eavy-duty recovery is often measured by the equipment on the scene — lifting capacity, boom reach or the size of the truck. But ask an experienced recovery operator what determines whether a job goes smoothly, and the conversation quickly shifts away from specifications. It shifts to planning. For Eli Perez Sr., owner of Eli Towing & Transport in Dundee, Florida, every recovery begins before anyone touches a control. His company specializes in lifting and recovery work throughout Central Florida, handling overturned equipment, excavators, bulldozers and other complex recoveries where every move matters. For Perez, success starts by understanding the recovery scene, selecting equipment that matches the job and relying on operator knowledge developed through experience and training. Those same realities are influencing
28

rear spades are designed to improve stability during side and rear recoveries and help operators work more effectively on uneven terrain and high-load situations. The connection is straightforward: Recovery planning begins with understanding the ground beneath the truck.
Decision 2: Match the Equipment to the Recovery Perez believes another important decision is selecting equipment that fits the recovery, not simply bringing the largest truck available. “You don’t always need the bigger truck,” he says. “But, you always need the right one.”
AMERICAN CRAFTSMANSHIP
WITH INGENUITY & A DEDICATION TO
CUSTOMER SERVICE! how heavy-duty recovery equipment continues to evolve. Decision 1: Start by Understanding the Scene Before stepping out of the truck, Perez studies the recovery from the driver’s seat. He looks at the position of the casualty, available workspace, ground conditions and anything that could influence the recovery before developing a plan. “You have to see everything first,” he says. “You make your plan before you even get out of the truck.” That philosophy proved especially important during a recovery involving multiple dump trucks that had fallen into a sinkhole after part of a roadway collapsed. Rather than rushing to begin the recovery, Perez first evaluated the surrounding ground to determine where his truck could be positioned safely. “The outriggers — that’s everything,” he explains. Those same considerations influenced the design of Jerr-Dan’s new JD35/40T Rotator. The rotator is built on a 7.4-million RBM high-strength torsion subframe paired with the company’s S130 outrigger system. Pivoting, groundcompacting spade feet and multi-position

Jerr-Dan’s operator-focused updates to the JD35/40T reflect a similar emphasis on helping operators work confidently in the field. He returns repeatedly to the idea of capability in real-world conditions. Everything from uneven terrain and shifting loads to limited working space influences how a recovery should be approached. Understanding how a truck performs in those situations becomes just as important as its rated lifting capacity. That thinking also shaped the development of the JD35/40T Rotator. Rather than replacing larger rotators, JerrDan designed the truck to bridge the gap between traditional heavy-duty wreckers
and the company’s largest recovery units by combining proven technologies with operator-focused updates. The JD35/40T features a 37-ft boom with continuous 360-degree rotation, allowing operators to work across a wide range of recovery angles. Standard equipment includes dual 35,000-lb two-speed planetary winches, a 50,000lb drag winch and compatibility with the company’s 500 Series underlift options, expanding the truck’s versatility across different towing and recovery applications.
For Perez, however, equipment capability always comes back to operator knowledge. “The size doesn’t matter,” he says. “Everything is about the truck’s capacity, the operator and the knowledge.” Decision 3: Recognize That Recovery Requirements Continue to Change Recovery work today is different than it was just a few years ago. Commercial vehicles increasingly incorporate lower front bumpers, air dams and aerodynamic bodywork that can make underlift access more challenging during towing and recovery operations. According to Jerr-Dan, those changes prompted the development of its new 350XLP and 500LP low-profile underlifts, designed to provide easier access beneath today’s commercial vehicles while maintaining heavy-duty capability. The low-profile designs are intended to help operators position

the underlift beneath modern vehicles more easily while reducing the need for additional repositioning during recovery operations. Additional features, including a robust 5-inch crossbar, oversized pivot pin, floating mid-section and expanded fork selection, are designed to provide versatility across a wide range of towing applications. The JD35/40T was also developed with flexibility in mind. The rotator supports Jerr-Dan’s 500 Series underlift options, including the new 500LP and UL565 coach boom, extending the range of vehicles that can be handled. As vehicle designs continue to evolve, operators are increasingly balancing lifting requirements with changing vehicle configurations and recovery conditions.
recoveries often begin with careful planning, selecting equipment appropriate for the job and continuing to develop operator knowledge through training and experience. At the same time, equipment manufacturers continue refining heavy-duty recovery equipment to address changing recovery environments, evolving commercial
vehicle designs and operator needs. Whether the job involves positioning a rotator on unstable ground, accessing a modern commercial vehicle with lower front-end components or selecting equipment for a complex recovery, one principle remains consistent: successful recoveries are shaped by the decisions made long before the first lift begins.
Decision 4: Never Stop Learning Perez believes experience remains one of the most valuable tools on any recovery. He has seen operators attempt to duplicate recoveries they have observed without fully understanding why those techniques worked. “They see something and try to do it,” he says. “But, they don’t understand why.” At Eli Towing & Transport, training takes place in classrooms, controlled environments and in the field. Operators are expected to understand how weight transfers, how equipment responds under load and where potential failure points exist, not simply how to complete a task. Jerr-Dan’s operator-focused updates to the JD35/40T reflect a similar emphasis on helping operators work confidently in the field. The truck includes audible alarms for boom rotation and platform leveling, an operational load chart to help operators understand performance throughout the working envelope, proportional electrohydraulic controls, a wireless belly-pack remote and distributed hydraulic and electrical systems designed to improve serviceability and troubleshooting. More Than Lifting Every recovery presents different challenges, and no two scenes are exactly alike. The experiences of Eli Perez Sr. illustrate that successful www.towprofessional.com | Volume 15 • Issue 6 | TOW PROFESSIONAL

eliminating the need to create a new path out. This unit enhances operator safety, by eliminating the need to work behind or alongside the recovery vehicle. Recovery operations can be performed remotely, from inside the cab of the recovery vehicle, or even from within the disabled vehicle itself. This allows the operator to bring the recovered vehicle fully onto the roadway, not just to the shoulder of the road.
Having the front recovery unit allows the operator to approach the recovery point head-on, rather than at a side angle. This reduces amount of time operators need to spend in active traffic lanes, and allows for recovery, without turning recovery vehicle around. “My husband always wanted the latest and the greatest, and everything had to be the best,” Gina noted. “You can tell that just by looking at the trucks we have in our fleet.” Unfortunately, Irvin never had the opportunity to see his new truck completed. DAMAGED VEHICLE RECOVERY EQUIPMENT (in the fall of 2025), only a week before the delivery date he and our team had set nearly 10 months earlier when the truck was ordered. Zip’s completed the truck on time, and Gina still took delivery of it, tucking it away in their shop instead of putting it into service right away. “I told the guys to just lock it up in
a bay, and I’ll figure out what we’re going to do with it later,” Gina said. “Life for me got busy in a hurry. I was healing from the loss of my husband and dealing with the estate, all at the same time. I was constantly on the phone with attorneys, bankers and accountants. So that new truck just kind of sat there.”
Over the next 18 months, the new RSB did not see much action, and Gina began shopping it around to other companies with little interest in return. In February of 2026, she decided to sell Suburban Towing to Guardian Fleet Services, and like others, they too were not interested in the well-appointed service truck. “Unfortunately, the service truck wasn’t something that fit in line with 44

and the Wall of the Fallen, a memorial dedicated to tow operators who died in the line of duty. Her visit left a lasting impression on her and ultimately planted the seed for the donation. “It was nice to see how they’ve helped the families and how they honored them at that ceremony,” Gina said. “It gave me a whole much more understanding of what the museum was all about.” www.towprofessional.com | Volume 15 • Issue 6 | TOW PROFESSIONAL

The Collins G7X Super Dolly: A Heavy Duty Answer for a Hard Job

COLLINS DOLLIES
I
n the challenging world of professional towing, where every recovery can be anything between a routine job to a high-stakes ordeal, equipment must do more than merely function—it must provide real-world value and help you get the job done. The Collins G7X Super Dolly is a purposebuilt response to that reality. Originally engineered with input from Canadian operators facing brutal winters, remote roads, and punishing terrain; this heavyduty evolution of Collins’ Hi-Speed dollies prioritizes strength, capacity, and versatility while pairing it with the company’s longstanding focus on highquality and real-world performance. Collins has long set the pace in dolly design. Its previous generations pushed weight reduction to new lows, while the G7—the seventh-generation model released in 2022—introduced dozens of refinements that earned it the moniker of The World’s Most Advanced Dolly. Feedback from the field, particularly from operators in Canada’s harsh offroad environments, revealed a different need: some wanted more mass, more resilience, and the ability to handle extreme loads over long distances in severe weather. The G7X is the answer:
a super dolly that leans into iron-packed heavy duty steel construction rather than chasing ever-lighter designs. At its core, the G7X delivers on three clear promises—more strength, more positives, and more capacity. Structural upgrades begin with thicker steel tubing, moving from the previous 0.120-inch wall thickness to 0.180-inch,
a substantial increase that enhances durability under repeated abuse. Steel hubs and high-capacity steel wheels replace lighter aluminum ones, providing the strongest components available in the industry. These wheels incorporate a bead-lock design, helping keep the tire seated even if pressure is lost. The result is a dolly

DAMAGED VEHICLE RECOVERY EQUIPMENT that feels substantially more robust when subjected to potholes, ditches, gravel, snow, and the kind of roadside punishment that could fatigue lesser equipment. The G7X’s cross rail axles further distinguish the G7X. Collins’ patented True Positive Double Camber T12 Hybrid Cross Rails combine aluminum outer sections with a zinc-plated steel insert. This hybrid construction delivers both adjustability and reinforced strength while allowing the rails to extend to an industry-leading and previously unheard of 104 inches. That span accommodates dual-rear-wheel trucks, large SUVs, boat and utility trailers, and larger specialty vehicles allowing operators to take jobs they previously can’t handle. The positive camber geometry contributes to stable tracking and safer towing dynamics, a feature Collins has refined across generations. Capacity is where the G7X truly stands out. Fitted with aggressive, hightraction 5.00x8 Load Range E tires, the G7X is rated for 5,000 pounds—an industry-leading capacity that opens the door to heavy electric vehicles. EV batteries add substantial weight, and models like Cybertrucks, Rivians, or Hummer EVs push conventional dollies beyond their limits. The G7X’s capacity, combined with a 75 mph speed rating, allows confident highway and interstate transport over unlimited distances. Collins has long distinguished itself with dollies approved for freeway use without the restrictive mileage or speed limits of other options. Testing and field reports indicate the aggressive-tread tires also deliver longer service life—30 percent or more. Real-world use underscores these specifications. Operators have put the G7X through multi-thousand-mile hauls, off-road recoveries, snow-covered terrain, and specialty jobs involving boats, RV trailers, and vehicles missing tires. One operator who relies on the dollies for off-road and specialty work has highlighted their reliability in snow and heavier applications, noting fewer tire failures and greater confidence on demanding jobs. COLLINS DOLLIES tool for the toughest assignments: extreme weather, rough terrain, and heavy vehicles. In an industry where vehicles grow heavier and recovery scenarios more varied, the G7X represents a deliberate shift toward resilience. It does not claim to be the lightest option, nor does it need to. Instead, it equips the roadside professional with the greater load capacity, wider reach, higher speed capability, and the confidence to complete difficult jobs without second-guessing the equipment. For operators who regularly face off-road winters, long-haul freeway work, or the rising weight of modern vehicles, the Collins G7X Super Dolly delivers a clear evolution—more strength where it counts, more positive geometry for stability, and more capacity for the realities of today’s towing landscape. For more information, visit Collins G7X Super Dolly website at https:// collinsdollies.com/catalog/hsd-g7x/. shown the G7X handling Cybertrucks at freeway speeds and even larger box trucks, demonstrating both the span of the T12 Hybrid Cross Rail axles and the strength of the dolly. Social media discussions and forum threads within the towing community frequently describe the G7X as a game-changer for operators who regularly encounter heavy EVs or long-distance transport, while acknowledging that the added weight of the dollies make self-loading mounts a practical recommendation for frequent daily use. The G7X design details reflect operator input. Trip handles with more height suit gloved hands in cold weather. The ergonomic motorcycle grip handles improve transporting and operating. Self-lubricating bushings reduce maintenance. Corrosion-resistant finishes—including the distinctive Canadian Red powder coat—help the equipment stand up to salt, moisture, and road chemicals. Tires, wheels, and cross rail axles are all interchangeable with other Collins models, allowing operators to mix it up as needs evolve. Everything considered, it positions the G7X not as a replacement for every dolly in a fleet, but as the specialized
