ANGELIM PEDRA VS APITONG/KERUING
Overseas Hardwoods Company has been supplying High Performance Lumber Products for flatbed trailers since 1967. Apitong/Keruing is the preferred material for trailer flooring. Angelim Pedra is an acceptable substitute when Apitong/Keruing is not available.
What you need to know about Angelim Pedra:
• 12% - 15% less in strength than Apitong/Keruing
• Approximately 10% less in weight than Apitong/Keruing
• Interlocked grain will have higher tendency to reveal raised grain and possible separation between old and new growth wood (shake.)
• No resin as found in Apitong
